No you're not the only one. I have listened to Viva, MX, GS in their entirety more often than previous albums. The reason for me is both the flow, the length and also the tracks. Parachutes is overall too slow for me but it has some outstanding tracks I listen often. A Rush has even more outstanding tracks but it also has some "fillers" for me. X&Y has many great tracks and some of the best soundscapes but it's too long and again it has some fillers. From Viva I feel they found the right combo both in choosing tracks, the length and variation in mood. MX for example is also long but it varies enough that it keeps my attention til the last track. So far I think AHFOD shows the culmination of their refining the album to make it as best as possible as a whole.

I think in the live video of AHFOD above but I have not re watched it. I may be mistaken. I notice though that both Jonny and Guy have microphones in front on them there and Guy sings too so yeah...apparently they all sing alternating between songs!

I mean now or/and in the newer eras post Viva. Now it seems the role of the second backup singer has gone from Guy to Jonny, as you see Jonny singing backing vocals in both AHFOD and Up&Up (off the top of my head)

Not really. Most people in the arts use Macs and have done so for years, way before Apple became popular with the rest of the crowd :)

Yes I noticed that too...but did Guy used to sing in lieu of Jonny during some songs? Or do we have examples of all four singing together in the past? I cant remember...

Lovers in Japan is one my favorite Coldplay songs ever, yet seeing it now and comparing it to AHFOD, its so evident to me just how much more prominent all the other band members are now compared to then, especially Jonny! Now almost each song on the new album has his shimmering guitar throughout, while in the past there were more than a few songs where he only had a small solo or mostly background chords.

I think his most prominent performance so far might have been Us Against The World. Maybe we might see it again in some of the upcoming live shows :) Oh and of course the end of Viva...he used to almost carry the woohooo all by himself with the crowd following hehe

Yes! hehe I noticed that too. I love seeing how much he puts into each performance, both on the drums and with his back singing parts.

X &Y excluded you mean? Viva was critically acclaimed. X & Y was too to some extent (at least in the beginning), so maybe you meant 4 :P I have no way to know why they give them the NME award now, nor why they are invited to perform at the Super Bowl now, but I must say I think the timing is truly fitting as they have completed their 7-albms journey with AHFOD. I actually think Coldplay versatility and the fact that they have not been shy about changing and embracing new styles in each subsequent album has not gone unnoticed, but its a very appreciated trait. Its also for many a trait of a true artist, who can evolve. They surely are that and so much more :) This award shall be thoroughly deserved ;)

Thanks for that review. I so want to see this movie because the gritty theme, the landscapes, the period time are all appealing to me, but I also did think it was too bloody and just perhaps even gory (from the trailers and clips saw), so I think Im waiting for it to come to home video... I don't mind bloody and gory but mostly in a satirical contest or specific genre like Tarantino :D Other than that I don't like to see suffering too detailed portrayed on the big screen. I think we get enough of that in real life reports :/

Sorry to hear that! I know all too well when those days come and yes thats exactly when Coldplay lyrics come to the rescue. It will rise again , thats an absolute certainty. Hang in there, do what you can to make yourself comfortable through it and release whatever you cant control to the Universe/Fate/God/Life or by whatever name you call that beautiful thing that binds us all in love :) "Help is just around the corner": hope it gets there very soon ;)

Ah ok good to know! Still worthy though checking what seat one has if its in the 20 section. I personally would take a good tier even if bit further from the stage then closer being stuck on a total side view :/

Im thinking how much I enjoyed seeing X-Files back on the screen after like 13 years! Its as good as ever and I hope for proper full seasons.

Ah so it seems the runway will go through all the GA area. I think fans have the best chance to get up close to the band in Europe, both with unreserved seats/standing areas and the runway running all the way ! While in the USA you need to shell out big bucks if you want to even get close to the stage...quite unfair to the fans
