  1. I´ve never once seen anyone making fun of an indian person for wearing their traditional garments! Now, granted...,some ass***** are to be found everywhere, but we are talking here of a systematic discrimination/ridicule that these people writing these articles seem to believe exist, which is just completely unfounded and untrue! I did mention this earlier, but I did do an in-depth research into this recent "pc movement" and it does have its own agenda...not the common good, lets leave it at that. Moreover this CA thing draws one conclusion then. That I, as a citizen of the West and/or as a person of white colour, am not allowed to use any other cultures´elements (garments or else) because this automatically means Im doing it to spite them. This is the very definition of racism and discrimination: judging a person preemptively based on where one comes from or what skin one has. Ironically their premises are the very same things they claim to fight against.... I´d like to add one more thing. Draco mentions that they need to be careful...unfortunately this is not about Coldplay (I wish it were just a few incidents) but its everywhere. No matter what you do, the smallest thing becomes fodder for the pc crowd. It has grown out of proportion. It was not like this only a few years ago...so this is not Coldplay fault. Matter of fact I´d say they do well by not "caving in" to these absurdities. They should stand by their celebration of indian culture and their absolute right to do so...
  2. Ah I read correctly then. I noticed during one of the recent videos. I would not say Coldplay have many religious symbols though but I'd say love and spirituality is to be found in a lot of their songs. Though both birds and hymn contain explicit religious references, still not sure they are on purpose though. Btw I think Chris is a believer but probably not tied to any specific religion or just believing in God in general. After all God can be defined in so many ways! Just a guess :)
  3. There are truly few things worse than an empty fridge lol
  4. Religion is part of culture, every culture really if you look around the world. Yes even in our secular west hehe Christianity is an integral part of our history and still reflects in the way we live (whether you are a believer or not is irrelevant, I refer here to Christian tenants we in the west by now take for granted like moral values of not killing or stealing or "love thy neighbor"/solidarity for the poor and in need which to a great extent is the foundation of our welfare systems! ) I don't think the boat reference was on purpose but you're likely to find references like that in many places. Am I mistaken btw or does Chris have a tattoo where it says "God is love"? I may have read wrong
  5. So if the video had been shot in Africa they would have accused Beyoncé of appropriating her own ethnic culture? Lol I actually think they would have. I think if you're intent on finding something you will , even if it's not the truth. We all know neither Beyoncé nor Coldplay had any other intention but to celebrate the Indian culture but these people will find faults even when they are nowhere to be found...
  6. Hmm I would like to believe that but considering all the stadiums not only the Rose all have seats and not general standing I'm more inclined to think its profit. Also considering the first 25 rows are priced like crazy. :/
  7. A bit beyond ridiculous accusing one minority (Beyoncé being African American) of oppressing another "non-white" culture. Honestly I think it's gone from senseless to ridiculous.
  8. That's longer than me. 4 years since my last Coldplay concert hehe And there is no general admission in the northern American tour so far, only seats, also on the floor :/
  9. No not Beyoncé herself haha (although she is jokingly called queen B). I meant Beyoncé figure , the figure she plays in the song, i.e the angel :) also in the video Beyoncé seems to represent a goddess , Hindu or perhaps I don't know a form of nature goddess (she's surrounded by flowers). So that coupled with mother Mary, the video is filled with goddesses/queens hehe
  10. I agree and moreover as long as they keep talking about "white people" this "black people" that it truly proves that the very same people who raise these issues are the ones still struggling with racism...they seem to see it everywhere, even in innocent things people do to actually appreciate each other or like you say for practical purposes.
  11. It could have been coincidental, that the boat they chose for the video had that name. But I do like that both the Beyoncé figure and Mother Mary can indeed be called Goddesses/Queens :)
  12. Someone above said 42 ?
  13. Yes, traditionally a boat name is often a woman´s name :) This is just a very important famous woman haha :D
  14. Very nice! And yes it was the birthplace of Buddhism indeed :) Still curious to find that on the boat...perhaps it was on purpose to highlight religious diversity coming together? It may be :) Regardless, I like it :D
  15. Haha I know you were! I was just being cheeky....as sometimes I like to be :smartass2::wink3: *LOL*
  16. Jedi Leo replied to greeneyes1207's topic in Coldplay
Well thats easier cuz its usually one week waiting time! haha Comic books is just so long the waiting that often you get a summary of the previous parts of the story in each issue *LOOL* Speaking of TV series, I cant wait for X-files episode 3 :D
  17. Ah...so here I was losing my mind trying to find IES in some song titles when indeed it was as simple as a plural reference? LOL
  18. You said it....and its not disrespectful but a tiny group of people have nothing better to do than finding problems everywhere...instead of positivity. I just ignore them and proceed my way.
  19. Im not. Im certainly staying put LOL I love all the different references! And thanks @amazingsirkg for letting us know about the boat sign and what it means! Incidentally I always wanted to learn sanskrit (which is the old indian language, not sure how much or if it differs from modern hindi) and I still got a "sanskrit for beginners" book somewhere in my library hehe
  20. It´s probably gonna be. I read the viewings increase year after year...and also this year is special because 50th Super Bowl :)
  21. Christianity is just the opposite of what the Illuminati are supposedly up to, i.e. satanism as well as appropriation (now this is real appropriation haha) of ancient occult symbology , mostly from Egypt old religion. So no the only thing one may expose in the Birds video is perhaps a conspiracy about the Pope being a closeted Coldplay fan *LOOL*
  22. I heard the commercials are special for some reason...oh well I´ll catch it perhaps next year. This year I want to sleep *lol* Im counting on some great people posting the performance in HD online so we can all watch it the day after :D :D
  23. The "ies" got me interested....what does that refer to? *hmmmm*
