  1. I've been to a lot of general admission concerts, and I'm pretty sure all of them have some sort of "seat" number even though there are no reserved seats... It really is just for reference.
  2. I heard they're also giving whoever buys tickets (over $42) their ENTIRE back catalogue of music for free. Amazing. I'd be looking for GA floors I suppose... It all depends on how this mass confusion about general admission pans out. I've seen a lot of baseball games from where the 100 levels are... Something close to the stage there might be decent/better... What did you end up with?
  3. Isn't that how all the huge stadiums shows are done in the UK? A massive pit of general admission...? If I remember correctly, Coldplay said they wanted to start doing those types of shows in North America...
  4. http://shop.ebay.ca/?_from=R40&_trksid=m38&_nkw=coldplay+toronto&_sacat=See-All-Categories another huge LOL... scalpers are idiots.
  5. you'd think that the convenience charge of over $16 per Coldplay ticket would have been enough... That's over $40 in convenience charges alone...
  6. I've never seen so much confusion and so many problems with one concert... and I've seen a lot of concerts... so sad, since I love this band so much. Did anyone else see what No Doubt did with their pre-sale type tickets? For an extra charge of $15 they gave real fans an early grab at ALL the best seats... and they put your name on the ticket... which takes out the ability for people to buy and sell them for ridiculous amounts on ebay... Such a fantastic way to do things I think. I wish Coldplay would consider doing the same one day.
  7. i just noticed that there is a convenience charge on the Argo tickets as well... LOL
  8. are they sectioning people off then? or is it going to be a long wait and a mad dash for the best spots? it definitely said reserved though....
  9. ah i'm so torn on this. it pains me to have such easy access to amazing seats... but i think i'm going to wait 'til other pre-sales... having to buy two $33 tickets (that I'll never use... and likely never sell... 'cause, seriously, who watches Argos football?) On top of $100 tickets is just ridiculous. Also, the fact that you can only buy in quantities of 2 or 4... Kind of unfair for people who just want one ticket. on the otherhand... i saw them last year... really close... row 6... floor... and i also was there for the vip soundcheck/meet and greet/photo op thing... so i'm afraid that, even though i've seen them from the nose-bleeds in the past (and it was still fantastic)... i'm afraid that after the insane experience of last time... seeing them from anywhere less just won't compare... and kind of suck in such a horrible venue. I've been ruined lol.... and i don't want to kill that last memory.... i dunno if that makes sense. does anyone know how many tickets are dedicated to this presale? because it started over an hour ago and there seems to still be a ton of good tickets left... I'm worried I won't be able to get a good spot in other presales or general onsale :S i REALLY need to see them again... but i'm so torn on what to do here.
  10. Well I'm glad they pushed the ticket date back because I woke up in a panic when I realized I slept past the ticket time, lol. However, I think that was obviously going to happen. But the Rogers Center... That's like my worst fear come true. Please tell me they're not going to do some sort of stupid huge general admission thing. That would be horrible. Has anyone ever seen a show at the Rogers Center? How do they do it? Do they set up chairs on the "grass". All I know is that I'm glad I saw them so close at the ACC because even that feels like an intimate venue now, lol.
  11. Since moving to Toronto a few years ago, I've been to a TON of concerts. I've paid various amounts for all of them ranging from twenty to hundreds of dollars, and you know what? I couldn't tell you how long ANY of them lasted, well except this one, since people can't seem to stop talking about it. It's all about the experience, and what Coldplay gives you live is one hell of an experience. In 2006, as a broke university student, I paid over $140 (ebay) to see Coldplay from the nose bleeds, and never once did I question how long that concert lasted, if it was worth the money, etc. I don't understand how people can equate concert running time to dollars spent, etc. You know full well going into it that Coldplay typically play a 90min set list. If you don't agree with it, don't go. It's simple. I paid hundreds of dollars to see them last week, and there were people there who spent double what I did. Even if they played for an hour, I would have spent the same thing, and enjoyed it equally as much. The experience is everything. I know that whenever I see Coldplay, or any other artist for that matter, I am going to have to have an amazing, unforgettable evening, regardless of how many songs they play. Sure, they COULD play more, but they don't. Big deal. It's important to see the experience as a whole. If you saw them, had an amazing time, and left with a year's worth of smiles... Isn't that priceless? btw - The U2 comparisons are old and tired... Kind of like U2... (Just MY opinion.. Don't hate me for that, lol)
  12. they sound amazing. it's not the audio of the venues, it's the audio of the cameras people are using since they aren't exactly made for shooting things like concerts. anything you hear on youtube will be a billion times better in person.
  13. They sang "Warning Sign" for those of us lucky enough to receive a spot at the Sound Check Party in Toronto on July 30th. Chris sang it so softly. It was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard live. They clearly have it down, perhaps they'll throw it in the setlist later on in the tour... Maybe they just don't have the perfect spot for it yet.
  14. Here's another pic of Jonny! Ever so slowly getting through my photos, haha...
  15. I saw Coldplay on Wednesday in Toronto... Santogold was beyond awful... I had to leave during her set! However, they don't always have bad openers... ie: Last time I saw them in '06 they had Richard Ashcroft and that was effing beyond amazing, imo. There's been a few other good ones in the past, aswell. It's cool that they seem to try and give lesser known people a chance, but yes, it would be nice if they atleast compared in style...
  16. You guys are so lucky they played Square One instead of Speed Of Sound! I wish they did that when they played TO! It's a much better song (IMO).
  17. Ah sorry! I forgot I had the permissions set like that... I just changed it. You should have no problem viewing it now :) Though it's probably still not big enough for a bg if you're planning to stretch it to fill your screen :( boo to flickr!
  18. So this is a terribly blurry picture, however there's definite eye-contact here so I couldn't not post it, lol...
  19. Another pic... I swear Guy stood (*cough* posed) like this for a good five minutes, haha. I was pretty convinced he was doing it for the ladies/cameras... So I of course had to take a picture, lol... Model much?
  20. a rather tall-ish guy, lol.
  21. Hey there, I suffer from pretty crazy migraines (triggered by far too many things), aswell, and had the same fear you did before going to the show (as I do with every concert). I'm not positive if they used strobe lights (it think, yes... just not really up on my lighting terms, lol), however I was in the sixth row and I was perfectly fine, and able to enjoy the show! I just tried to focus all of my attention on the band, and not the lighting. Hopefully you have a similar, migraine-free experience :) Definitely take your meds with you just incase, and maybe take something not too strong before hand so you're not worrying so much about the "what if".
