Guy looks the spitting image of someone in a rugby club i am currently involved with. First game of the season i had to do a double-take that Guy hadn't taken up rugby at the weekends! :)

I have wondered about that shot too. My guess is that it was done with a green screen effect. So they filmed the stage without Chris. Then they put him on a ramp that moved upwards with him lying on it, the ramp being completely green (as well as a green back cloth). Then they film the ramp coming up to get Chris "rising upwards". Then the green ramp and blackcloth is replaced with the stage background and floor in post-production. My guess.

I don;t want to get into the realms of speculation over a few nuances but did anyone else notice he is the only one not wearing a rose on the video shoot for CHristmas lights. And the expression on his face throughout looks as though he is not really enjoying it and just going through the motions.

Yes Guy and Chris especially are strong-willed types. Guy ran several marathons, if that is not strong will-power I don't know what is.

wow Guy is getting some stick in this thread. What has he done to derserve it? Are people reading too much into mere looks ? Has he actually been unpleasant to anyone? I've always heard him to be a perfect gent when he meets fans. Maybe I am out of touch !

And if you look closely you can see a blue chalk cross to the right of Chris' head when he lying on the floor by the piano earlier on (0:41). :)

Singing Christmas lights If anyone thinks it is a good idea, I'll run off some copies of the lyrics to make sure we are all word and note perfect next week! It will keep us occupied as a singalong outside the BBC if nothing else? Would someone be good enough to download Christmas Lights onto their iPhone so we can sing in time/ tune? (mine is playing up at the mo)

I agree - it makes him seem humble and often funny. He will probably not like me saying but it's a trait of the English upper middle class. It's part of their good manners so that people around them don't feel uncomfortable You go round to their house and say: "what a fanstastic painting you have!" they say: "oh that old tat, it really needs cleaning". You say: "what an amazing house you have." They say:"but it's really run down, it needs a lot of work doing to it". etc.

If the extreme pessimists of the Pet Shop Boys can keep going so long (celebrating their 25th year this year) then why not Coldplay? Madonna, U2 and plenty of other acts from the 1980s still going. Chris talking about hair loss - whilst amusing - is not really relevant. We love them for their music, not their looks.

True. The only thing in their favour is that I haven't heard the song once yet on any radio stations bar their interview sessions on 1st Dec, If stations hold back from playing it this early it may help them later in December.... then again if none play it at all very much it is not going anywhere.
