"Bad Vibes" in band
Didn't that occur mid-tour of their US leg (around the time they were in California).?

Don't get me started on the inaccuracy of the 5 day forecasts!

12 Coldplayers of Christmas wanted! (reviewers of the months of 2010)
It changed after my request! :) Since when do the 12 days of Christmas start on the 19th? (though they will if Christmas lights is announced no 1 that day!)

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
Last year was pretty spectular too snow wiswe. We had 3 spells of heavy snow. A light dusting before Christmas - then loads up North actually for Christmas, then everywhere in early Jan, and again late Feb.

Did you like 'Christmas Lights'?
Fantastic. You have summed up what being a Coldplay fan is all about. Welcome to the forum! :)

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
That just about sums it up! For a couple days there were few train services runnung normally in and out of London, and some were literally stuck (with people sleeping on the train overnight).

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
I remember once after visiting my cousins in the US for Christmas I literally bought a shedload of outdoor Christmas lights @ just $2 a set (how come they are so cheap over there?) When I checked in at the airport in the US they wanted to know what all the wiring was in my suitcase. LOL :)

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
Possibly, tho they will barely register with the bright studio lights. We can but try!

Liked Christmas Lights? Up next its Corey Taylor's (Slipknot) festive tune... X-M@$
Typo? Should read: "Warning: obscene music" :)

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
Back at the last UK Viva gig at Wembley we did our Coldplayer's "circle of light" thing with our glo sticks which worked really well. I was thinking if we wore a string of batter operated LED Christmas lights each- they are really cheap in Poundstrechers - £1.99 a set and they are really bright - despite being battery ones. I've got 3 sets so other 2 will go to Dan & Chelsea because we've already agreed to meet up

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
LOL - this isn't typical winter weather for us, hence the marvel. The average high for us in December is around 45F (In American money) and snow is rarity at this time of the year. Sub-zero days are (thankfully) quite rare in the UK. It's global warming! :)

Camapign to get Christmas lights to number 1 / Chart updates
Dunno how it works in Uruguay but in the Uk we want it no 1 for Christmas itself! I bought the video but am waiting for the single purchase. There is a danger Coldplay will peak too early and be pipped at the last minute ...

Limited edition CD version of Christmas Lights?
No but they are providing transport to/ from venue and a meal. As with Coldplay, the love of the subject matter means I'm not looking for payment. Yes it's a bit of an old story now isn't it? Some people feel aggrieved that they didn't get their Q & A session but Phil has said he will address that? The problem with this thread is indicative of what has happened since the evening. *Any* criticism is taken out of context or comes across as ungrateful. However, I do think they could have given us as fans something other than a nasty legal contract threatening to sue... especially when Simon Pegg had already given the game away anyway!

Limited edition CD version of Christmas Lights?
I'm actually being an extra again next week for a plane crash sequence (someone is trying to tell me something! :) ). The arrangements there a little different to what we did, so I don't think Mark is being greedy here as some of you suggested. He asked if those on the boat could have the opportunity to buy a copy - not a 'give, give, give'. I did initially think those posting negative comments about the evening was bad form, but at the end of day Coldplay got some extras for nothing, with very little inconvenience to themselves.

Camapign to get Christmas lights to number 1 / Chart updates
Unless there are special arrangements this year with Christmas falling on a saturday (AFAIK not) then the info up there is incorrect - you need to buy it from 12th to 18th December - not the week running up to Christmas Day itself. The UK Christmas number 1 will be announced on Sunday 19th - so buying it in the days running up to CHristmas won't help at all. I'm not on Facebook so you might want to tell him! :)

Letter from Phil Harvey: Dear Coldplaying...
That's actually a good point. I got the impression from the producers also they didn't want us near the stage for the Coldplay filming so I decided to go back to the pub with fellow Coldplayers where we all met up to round the evening off nicely before heading home. I'm not the type to make a nuisance of myself to the band and invade their privacy so I respected their wishes and didn't visit it. I understand people who did waiting 3 hours plus in any case to see them - which was after my last train home (like Cinderalla, I need to be back home before midnight :) )

christmas lights = the most popular coldplay song? ha!
No one is saying Coldplay are an Indie charity. We're all just sick of crap music at no 1 for Christmas in the UK and believe it's time our favourite band had a turn. If some of us want it to get to number 1 it should be seen in that light, not as an awful presumption they need fan help with anything they do.

Hey Dan, were you one of the 4 lads in the front dressed smartly in ties that Chris commented on?

Coldplay Top of the Pops updates
I am making some big copies of the group photographs I took on the boat last week. If anyone would like to sign one photo as a thankyou note to the band then PM me - or just sign on the day (I'll be the guy with the big brown envelope; presumably the BBC will assume I'm an MP :) ) Most likely I'll be giving the photos to BBC staff to give to the band on the day.

Limited edition CD version of Christmas Lights?
If you read your contract you will remember the second part of it mentioned something about a digital media and having a digital watermark so that they would know about piracy. I honestly don't think they wouldn't send us something, maybe just different to this. It seems odd they have 100 copies and there were 100 peeps on the boat?

A question
They would. A-ha were pretty big back in the 1980s and weren't British! :) I think there is an element of Coldplay being at the right place and right time (they would always have been successful), but their quick rise to prominence (as well as being phenomonly talented) was partly due to being in London, and knowing the right people. I often wonder if they had gone to a different Uni - not in London - never mind another country- if it might have taken them a bit longer to be discovered. The role Debs played in this as well cannot be understated.
