:( How on earth are they going to get to Christmas no 1! (even though it is a very small part of the market nowadays!)

Are Coldplay the a-ha of their generation?
Funnily enough, (as I was telling peeps on the boat last week) someone has mixed A-ha's Take on Me with Viva La Vida, see: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itjURpjK-os]YouTube - Coldplay vs a-ha "Take on Viva La Vida"[/ame] It starts well but goes pear shaped when it gets to the chorus! The comparison is hardly suprising, since both Chris and Guy are huge fans on A-ha to my knowledge. I loved A-ha in the 1980's too and was lucky enough to see them live when they came to my hometown for Saturday Morning Superstore (does anyone else here remember that?) :)

Why Coldplay? (School project question)
1: What is your favorite song? (Doesn't necessarily have to be Coldplay) I had thought this to be Lovers in Japan, but my iTunes begs to differ. So it's Viva La Vida 2: Why? Lyrically it's perfect. It works for me on so many levels. The song reveberates around my soul. Yes, it's a song about a King who lost his kingdom, and now realises he's not on the A-List in the afterlife. It works for me on many different levels too. I never tire of hearing it, it always sounds fresh. 3: In your opinion, what makes a good song? Melodies which are catchy and have the "re-listen without tire" quality (which Coldplay have in abundance).Songs which can be uplifting or melanchony and also deep in their meaning. Coldplay are one of the very few bands which can pull of all these elements so successfully IMO. I've been hooked on their music since I heard Yellow back in 2000. Add to this Coldplay are 4 of the nicest guys in showbusiness who have remained true to their values and really champion some great causes and care a lot about others.

My Christmas Lights Demo Cover
I agree. The Coldplay-oke (something I had hoped for earlier in the week) was one of the best parts of the evening. It was great to be surrouded by 99 others singing for all their worth, who love their music as much as I do. Really magical. We'll have to see if we can organise a Coldplay-oke session for Coldplayers in 2011

LOL, I was going to ask you if you had a photographic memory, then I remembered that it featured briefly in last year's South Bank Show didn''t it? I can remember the melody from the boat, but not all the lyrics!

Hey Pete, I suggested to Debs if I could do a group photograph and they announced it so everyone could go up to top deck before we left. It seemed a shame not to have a group photo of the evening as we had all had such a good evening. One of the crew actually took it (given I'm on it). Many thanks to all for setting this up.

Glastonbury like touching Robert Pattisons Balls
LOL I have a theory that Chris is competing with Tom Baker for the most zany and off-the wall comments... Tom often tells us how he used to go "cruising in Sloane Square. I got mistaken for Claire Raynor [the agony aunt] and then had to spend the next hour giving out detailed advice to random strangers on thrush and cystitis because I didn't have the heart to tell them I wasn't Claire." :)

Like a lot of people last night, I didn't believe what was happening at the time! We are so lucky to been invited to participate in something like this! I loved meeting everyone from all round the world last night. Coldplay has some really nice people as its fans! Love to all Coldplay HQ. Thankyou for the movie! :)
