CHARLIE BROWN MUSIC VIDEO! (both studio and live videos in first post)
It isn't two random people... they are clearly supposed to resemble the two characters from MX. I think this video helps tell the story of the album. Charlie Brown is the song where the two characters fall in love, in the oppressive futuristic society. To me it seems like they found an underground rave to let loose at, along with some other rebels (maybe the Car Kids?... haha). It seems like a pretty cool concept to me.

[Article] VV - In Defense Of Coldplay: Understanding And Refuting The Deep, Smoldering Hatred For A
Most arguments I've heard against Coldplay have nothing to do with the actual music. Most critics can't name even 5 songs, so I just dismiss their opinions as ignorant. Blame 40 year old virgin and assholes like Liam Gallagher. All I care about is how much I love their music. I know the facts about all the b.s. plagiarism claims and stuff. If them being hated makes them work harder to produce better music for me to hear... so be it.

The PROS & CONS of "Princess of China" (plus 1-10 sliding poll)
Coldplay have already written so many great "Coldplay-esque" songs for me to enjoy, so I think it's awesome they are diving into different genres and giving us something completely different than what we are used to. Yes it is a pop song, but a good one with some awesome coldplay elements. When Coldplay do something, they don't half ass it. I enjoyed it. Rihanna is very talented. I think that everybody complaining about it and Rihanna should just be thankful for all the great song they already do love by Coldplay. Shocker, your favorite band has a song you don't like. It isn't the end of the world. MX is sure to pack enough punch to please everybody.

Paradise is amazing
Here's my thoughts: I think it is obviously about the female character in the story. Because Paradies comes early in the tracklist, this might be the first time we are introduced to her. We clearly know that she discontent, and is dreaming for more... If Mylo Xyloto is indeed an alien... maybe, just maybe, they will meet, sing a duet on Princess of China, and then end up going Up With the Birds and leaving planet Earth. Maybe Move to Mars? haha.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
Disclaimer: I posted this in the "have they lost their minds" thread but I feel it is more fitting here. It's interesting to see how everyone is receiving this song. There are a lot of opinions floating around and things being said about Coldplay. Oddly, I feel like I need to defend them on this forum, which I don't think I've ever felt before. Let me start off by saying, that I actually really like Paradise. I'm not saying it's their best song ever, but I give it a solid 8/10 based off of my enjoyment. Also, because the sounds is new, I expect it will grow on me and lead me to like it even more in the future. I just want to say that I do not understand the comments about this song being pop, and not a typical Coldplay song. Although the sound is new, at the very core of it, it has Coldplay qualities. From the "ohhh's", to the falsetto, to the melodic vocals, to Jonny's guitar riff. I think they have found a very interesting way to present their sound. I don't think it sounds like anything else I have heard, from Coldplay, or any other band. It is heavy, yet beautiful. That slow driving drum beat and blistering bass make for a very intense listen that makes me want to bob my head. When they play this song live, I think it is going to blow me away. The sound is immense and I really think it's going to make an impact in the setlist. This is NOT pop. It is very clearly alternative rock. It is more of a rock song than most of their material. I like that they are reinventing themselves. I don;t want to hear the same stuff over and over again. I'm not saying I like every song they put out, but I am a huge fan of each and every album and it is very clear they have been evolving. For those that think they are selling out and settling for mediocrity, I beg to differ. This band has the hardest work ethic out of any musicians I know. They are trying to bring their fans something that hasn't been done before. They slave over each and every album until they are happy with it. When it comes down to it, Mylo Xyloto is the album they wanted to put out, and frankly, it deserves a complete listen before any serious judgement is passed on it. For those already hoping this is "a phase" they will grow out of, be more patient and wait for the album. Coldplay have never dissapointed me, and I'm sure MX will blow me away. As for the Rihanna song, just keep in mind this is going to be Rihanna singing on a Coldplay song, not vice versa. I think it could have potential to be great, even if I am slightly skeptical about it. I really don't think they are intentionally changing their sound to appeal to a wider audience. They are making the music that they want to make, and whoever listens, listens. It just so happens that they happen to be putting out great music, and more and more people choose to listen.

Coldplay vs Swedish House Mafia - Every Teardrop is a Waterfall
Teardrop dropped by Swedish House Mafia at EDC Anyone who knows anything about EDM (that's electronic dance music for all you people who think it's called "techno"), you'll be pleased to know that Swedish House Mafia remixed Every Teardrop is a Waterfall and dropped it in front of 70,000+ people on the last day of the legendary Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas. I unfortunately, missed that day. I went for the first two, and had no idea until now that the legends that are SHM played Coldplay. Never would have guessed. Here is a video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rv_Ji7gYoj8 Amazing.

[4-June-2011] Coldplay @ Rock am Ring: Nürburgring, Germany (Live Stream links in 1st post)
The whole first half of the concert, from Hurts Like Heaven through Violet Hill... I've never seen Coldplay rock so hard. They played all upbeat songs, with the exception of Lost, which still has a powerful beat... Major Minus was freaking awesome. They were seriously rocking hard during that, and then God Put a Smile Upon Your Face was the most epic I've ever heard it. Definitely like that Chris picked up the electric, that's rare. Awesome, awesome show. Love the new stuff.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (OUT THIS FRI(ROW)/SAT (UK)!!) - [Walking Man and Videos + GIFs + Scre
Knowing that Phil and some of the band check out this forum from time to time, I'm willing to bet that over the course of the last few days they someone in the coldplay camp has been reading this thread to see how all the fans are reacting to it and what kind of buzz it is generating. They are probably laughing at a lot of the speculations. That being said.... HELLO PHIL, OR ANY OTHER PERSON ASSOCIATED WITH THE BAND!!!
