  1. Sparks22 I'm not sure if you realize, but Coldplay are big fans of Radiohead and were always compared to them with their first album in terms of the style of music. Yes that Radiohead song you linked is a more recent one where there is possibility of inspiration coming from Coldplay, but I highly doubt it... the song is very much a Radiohead sounding tune.
  2. ooh, thats what the issue was. :D! Thanks, now I'm swinging too.
  3. I feel like such a dummy, I still can't see the option anywhere. >.>
  4. So um, how do you change your mood?
  5. "he's bruno, dove of peace" is all i hear from Chris
  6. oh my goodness, cant wait for the full video, it looks so adorable and it is a very creative little video!
  7. In Vancouver they came on right at about 9:02 and were off at 10:57. So just about 2 hours, but that includes the interlude which I include as being part of the show...
  8. Well, I saw them twice in two nights in vancouver, and the lack of changes to the setlist the second night didn't bother me at all. I knew what to expect going into the first concert too as I'd glanced over setlists before, but I still had a great time. The energy of the band, the enthusiasm of the crowd, that made those nights really special for me. Not saying that the same thing couldnt be achieved with different setlists, but it didn't really seem to matter. And the crowd was even livelier and on cue when it came to singing the second night than the first, and i know many were seeing the show a second time, almost like saturday was just a rehearsal for the crowd. Songs that I thought might not work live, proved to work extremely well. I really kind of believe them when they say they've perfected their set now, and like the order of songs and all that. The show was very upbeat as well, and I think they want to keep it that way, which I think may explain the lack of Parachutes/older songs. I also agree on the point about this tour being a mass appeal kind of show. I've seen Prince on two occasions, one he was playing small vanues and focusing on his newer, not radio friendly, jazzier material, and the next show was sort of a greatest hits tour. I dont think he'd have packed an arena if he promised a show full of songs off the Rainbow Children rather than promoting the fact that he'd be playing his 80s hits. I was already slightly irritated when individuals in the crowd couldn't recognize songs like Glass of Water or even sing along to some of the more familiar songs, so I don't know how much fun it'd have been if I was the only one singing along to Warning Sign or Don't Panic.
  9. Yeah those organizers of the meet and greets always seem to have a bunch of strict silly rules in place, but from everything I've read, it didn't seem like Chris would adhere to the 'no photo with these folks rule, it wasnt part of the prize' nonsense. Nice work on the shirt, and what a nice surprise for you to be able to meet the band afterall. :)
  10. What exactly were you expecting from the movie?
  11. Hollywood definitely has set some unhealthy standards for women(men as well in many cases), especially those with acting careers. I read something interesting once that suggested that actresses have to stay extraordinarily slim to look smaller in comparison to male love interests in films. That way, the males look bigger, manlier, stronger on camera, even if theyre quite small themselves in real life. The crash diets actors and actresses go on to lose weight for films are not usually very healthy methods of losing weight, and regular people should not be trying to emulate their methods. Some of them may do it for their art or to fit in a certain role, but we don't need to worry about that, and I'm just sick of hearing about celebrity diets of cayenne pepper and lemon juice, etc. Perhaps Gwyneth has only learned these methods and not healthy, normal ones? I do wish she'd not promote them to the non-actress readers of her newsletter though, who could easily be influenced by her star power to try these things for themselves...
  12. Another thing I forgot to add about Tracy's talk - when she talks about making anyone super tiny, she constantly talks about how her program 'elongates' muscles. Where your muscles connect to your bones is determined at birth. Whether they are "long" or "short" cannot be changed through any exercise program. yes, you can improve flexibility, but not how they will actually connect to the bone. Gwyneth and Chris as you can tell, have those long muscles naturally. Tracy likes to promise the same sort of look for EVERYBODY, when really, if you want to get into shape you have to be happy with the bone and muscle structure you were given. Love how your body is put together or you'll never be pleased with the results because you'll keep expecting to achieve some celebrity's muscle and bone structure. Also, tracy likes to say that her clients "eat anything" but when you see that she advises such a low calorie diet for weight loss, you see that its just another scam to try to sell you her exercise miracle 'method'. Trust me, sometimes I just want to grab her by the shoulders and give her a little shake, tell her she is gorgeous and to forget about all the diet programs that con artists try to sell her. 5 pounds here or there does not suddenly make her obese, or mean that she needs to deprive herself of ordinary healthy foods to go on some liquid cleanse, or 500 calorie a day diet. There are healthier ways to shed those few pounds anyway if she absolutely must, but its never healthy to do it overnight.
  13. oy, "detoxing". Between this and promoting Tracy Anderson's completely inane, bogus "method" my brain just goes into spasms. I support fully eating healthy, and not putting chemicals or pesticides in your body. Heck, I am a vegan, so I'm even not opposed to avoiding certain foods. but even talk of liquid diets and "detoxes" to lose weight and "cleanse" is just garbage. you lose weight because youre cutting calories on these liquid vegetable smoothie diets. The liver already does a fantastic job of detoxification, you dont need to deprive your body of solid food for it to be able to work. And now I need to add onto more of what I've been learning about Tracy Anderson... Having trained in the last 4 months with actual certified personal trainers and then going back to compare their methods that have resulted in a 25 pound weight loss for me, to Tracy's method that she talked about on Oprah last year... ive learned that her exercise program is based on no actual knowledge of human physiology (she's said things like your abs naturally separate in your 30s - lol, no) and that she simply plays off of women's fears of adding "manly bulk" which is impossible without manly amounts of testosterone. I cannot believe she actually said "no woman should ever lift more than 3 pounds" on Oprah, but she did. Utter crap. Lets see how doing shoulder presses with literally no weights for 80-100 repetitions strengthens those muscles down the road compared to doing them with 10 pound weights 20-30 times. She also advises doing abdominal exercises everyday when just like every other muscle group it needs a days rest to recover and rebuild to see any results. people lose weight on her program because of diets she puts them on that consist occasionally of lunches of 2 celery sticks with 2 tsp almond butter, and the 1 hr intense cardio exercise that is part of her super-duper "method" If i can find the link to the diet she advised for losing 20 lbs in 2 months, I'll post it. Basically though, it was like an anorexics food diary. Some days, there were no snacks and I dont think the total calories exceeded 500. That combined with 2 hours of exercise is unhealthy for the body, shuts down the metabolism, sets people up for failure and only makes losing weight harder in the future. Basically, I'm not saying this just to shit all over Tracy Anderson. It's more out of concern that anyone here may take her methods as gospel since she has thin celebrity clients, one of which we are particularly interested in here, and impliment it into their own life. Please, if you want to trim down, don't follow any of these fads - whether its Tracy's "method" or these detoxes and liquid diets. Eat reasonably - dont cut calories down below 1200 - and exercise regularly, do your cardio, don't be afraid to work your muscles - building muscle helps burn fat at a faster rate since muscles consume more energy, thereby raising your metabolism. Not to mention the other ways that strong muscles support your entire body. Eat and exercise in a way that is possible to continue for the rest of your life - crash dieting only leads to weight roller coasters and feelings of failure, unhappiness. Adapt to a healthy lifestyle, stick with it, and health will follow.
  14. :(! R.I.P I didnt know her well, but we did converse occasionally on her coldplay site. :(
  15. *sigh* looks like I'll be missing the show. had a look at our finances, definitely could not afford a trip this month, slashed the price of my ticket to about 40 bucks and it sold on stubhub finally. Super sad to not get to see Coldplay again, was looking forward to this gig as it seemed that I would be going. However, everyone going, have LOTS OF FUN and lets hear back from you on how the gig was!!!
  16. still trying to sell my July 10 Portland ticket. Selling below face value. changed the listing so here's the new one =) https://www.stubhub.com/coldplay-tickets/coldplay-ridgefield-clark-county-amphitheater-7-10-2009-795390/?ticket_id=196742561
  17. Wow haha... that perez hilton story sounds like the most made-up shit ever.
  18. Wow great design!! Big congrats on winning! I guess I might be seeing you at the concert. :)
  19. Well, as I've had no luck selling my ticket, and I've given my mom a big ol' "I.O.U Lots of money" if she ends up heading down there with me for the weekend, it looks as though I may be going afterall! I'm trying to sell the ticket still, but if it doesn't sell by the 6th or so, then I'll be heading down! So I have a few questions if there are any Portland people lurking around here... how are portland crowds in general? I hope they're lively ^.^ because I'm going to be dancing my ass off and I hope I'm not the only one. :P Any suggestions on hotels to stay at that aren't too pricy, in a safe area and aren't too far away from the venue? Also, I was too shy to approach any roadies to butter them up to get a seat upgrade at the Vancouver shows... I was wondering if anyone had any um...suggestions for subtle ways to get noticed for this sort of thing? Is just trying to chat them up and maybe mentioning traveling to see the show maybe enough to perhaps get one of those killer seats they reserve for the super fans?
  20. "And running is something Tracy thinks you should never do, since she believes running creates too much bulk on your backside, and "a bulked-up bottom is not a pretty one." But I digress. To see what else you get for $900, read more." .... Because I see so many runners that just have huge asses? No. Not at all actually... professional runners all look pretty svelt to me... Take Paula Radcliffe: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d0/Paula_Radcliffe_2007_New_York_marathon.jpg and running is pretty well one of the best cardiovascular activities you can do to burn fat. Oy vey tracy, oy vey.
  21. As much as I don't want to sell this ticket, I have no way of getting to Portland anymore. :( So, here's my listing for July 10, Ampitheatre at Clark County show. Price negotiable. https://www.stubhub.com/coldplay-tickets/?ticket_id=194049566
