Gwyneth...
aw her response makes me happy. She seems pretty polite about it too, considering what peta said about her. Whatever anyone here might think of Peta, Im always a bit put off when fur is glamourised (it seems to be a hot trend this fall sadly when i think most of people are kind of put off by what goes into making that fur trim) and when I saw that ad with her in it I didnt think it made much sense since she used to eat mainly vegan. It just didnt add up and Im glad she cleared it up. As for the chris and gwyneth marriage trouble rumours... its probably a load of garbage. They just need some gossip to report on so theyre rehashing possible break-up stories. They do this with tons of celebrity couples so that for those that do end up splitting up, they can write about it and go "see, we knew this was coming months ago." and then the public continues to buy and read that garbage. and anyway... a couple doesnt always have to be together to *be* together. I havent seen my bf of 4 and a half years in 3 weeks because he lives an hour and a half bus ride away and other things have come up... and any given friday or saturday night if his friends see him without me they start asking him if "everythings alright" between us. =\

'Lost' third single due on 8th september ?
Heard Lost! on the radio tonight, it was number 6 on a sort of listener's pick countdown. Was excited to hear it, and it was slightly weird hearing it on that station since they tend to play some harder stuff generally. So seems it is getting played on radio, at least here in Canada!

I really don't like this at all!!!
If you don't care why Chris is a vegetarian, i dont think they were forcing you to find out. And...That's another misconception that bugs the shit out of me. Animal activists often DO support humanitarian causes as well as the animal protection movement. Do you have a problem supporting more than one cause yourself? If not, why do you think animal rights activists would only be concerned with animal suffering? Humans are capable of compassion not just towards one animal, one human being or towards one cause... but towards many things simultaneously... And there are plenty who aren't involved in any cause at all... do you rant at them on message boards to go solve all the world's humanitarian issues the way you do to vegetarians? So I probably shouldn't take this guy too seriously, but honestly now... I don't think this is the right place to attack people's beliefs and convictions. :\

I really don't like this at all!!!
My god.... is this really the appropriate forum for this? Well... since it's been started I just cant help myself from replying to some of these very common arguments against vegetarianism. I do not wish to be attacked for this, and i am NOT trying to shove vegetarianism down anyone's throats here... but I do feel the need to reply to some of these common arguments and misconceptions. Re: eating vegetables = murder. When people say this, theyre usually trying to poke fun at vegetarians, and stray from the real issue. Sure, plants that are eaten are plants that no longer live. However, that's not really the point. Animals are sentient, feeling beings. They experience pain, pleasure and likely capable of more than just that. Plants as far as we know at the moment, do not have a physiological makeup that would suggest that they are capable of feeling pain, nor do they appear sentient. There are many other good reasons to eat less meat or none at all. most plant agriculture is used to feed animals instead of human beings. The amount of energy put into an animal that is slaughtered for human consumption is far greater than the energy gained from eating that animal. Far less agricultural land would be required to feed the entire human population (something we're having trouble with now) if we ate a vegetarian diet. the environmental impact of animal agriculture is astronomical. There are many good, rational reasons to support vegetarianism, even ignoring animal suffering, so vegetarians aren't necessarily just some crazed animal lovers. Re: animals that are killed will die anyway. So will every single person on the planet, but that doesn't mean we should eat people because someone else might kill them or they would die of natural causes! =P animals raised for meat live a tiny fraction of their lives, and they hardly live a 'natural' life. Many are crammed into tiny spaces, unable to stretch out. Some are trampled on, many are injured. None of their social needs are met, and yes, even animals have social needs. As far as cows killing people... hmm, not so sure about that one! :P I do know that rodeo bulls are often prodded, shocked, have their testicles squeezed etc before theyre released from their pens to behave like 'crazed' creatures. When unprovoked many are docile enough to approach if you're not behaving in a threatening manner. As far as being able to eat a diverse diet as a vegan/vegetarian, it is entirely possible and i've found it is actually much easier than i originally thought it would be! I also hate the misconception that vegetarians eat 'boring' food. completely not true! there's a lot of great things you can make that are 100% delicious, vegan, nutritious and filling! And to the original poster... As far as keeping your ideas to yourself... didn't Chris say in an interviewthat "whether youre a plumber or a rockstar you should say what you believe"? Well, you've said what you believed by calling me and other vegetarians 'vegetable murderers', and activists, whatever they're standing up for are saying what they believe. As far as my thoughts on the animal rights activists... they did pick a bit of an odd venue to find support. But it hardly seemed like they were being too aggressive. If someone was interested by the picture they held up, and they then became curious about animal issues, that person could go home and find out more. Maybe that person would decide to eat less meat or no meat at all. If you weren't interested by their presence or animal rights issues in the least, you'd ignore them, go on your merry way and enjoy the coldplay concert. I dont see any harm being done.

Radio2 Live: Coldplay - 30th August 2008 @ 7pm BST
didnt sound much like leading vocals really, as it was quite quiet. Ive noticed backing vocals at other big concerts before, especially where a layered vocal effect is needed or what not.
