Random Coldplay thoughts...
Dang, I'm glad I'm not the only one! I came very close to horizontality at the Kansas City show, when out of nowhere they played Glass of Water (for the first time in North America). I'd only heard the snippet on the glass of water Facebook application (remember that thing?) but had already decided it was my new favorite Coldplay song (still is! :D). But yeah, the moment I heard "Scared of losing all the time," I had to grab on to my friend's shoulder for support. She was amused. ;)

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
I've done that! When I went to the Indy show, my friend had backed out last minute so I gave my ticket away (on here, actually) last minute. So at one point my new seat buddy said he was going to go use the restroom, and it was during The Hardest Part, so naturally I said, "Wait, you can't go now! Viva is next! :o" I couldn't tell if he was impressed or weirded out. ;)

Chris Martin Caricature
I'm glad you bumped this; I hadn't seen it! It's amazing but definitely fits into 'uncanny valley' for me, hehe. ;) Envy your photoshop skills; seriously. Also I have to post this. (Not mine, of course. In fact it kind of weirds me out...)

Random Coldplay thoughts...
You know how Chris always asks "is everyone okay?" at concerts? I was listening to LRLRL today at work and suddenly realized that at the start of Clocks what he is saying in Spanish is "todos bien?" = "everyone okay?" I really struggled to hold back my giggles.

Chris Martin's bracelets ?
Exactly what kind of glue did you find that worked? :stunned: I've tried everything!

It's a Translation Party!
My friend just shared this site with me, and I can not stop plugging Coldplay lyrics into it! Basically it's an automated version of a game we used to play on Babelfish, where you run a phrase through several language translations and then finally translate it back into English. What you end up with is sort of a mixed up, poetic version of what you started with. So let's try it out! Go to Translation Party, put in some lyrics, wait for the translator to reach equilibrium, and post the results. Then spoiler-tag what you started with so everyone else can guess the original lyrics. I'll start with a couple obvious ones. "Guide House, I need to fix the light in your bones" click here to see how the translator worked this one out. :) Here's another!! "But why me in your direction, Purizupurizumi to direct his words to convey. Are you listening? You must pay attention!" I have no idea who "Purizupurizimi" is. Your turn!

When you first heard Coldplay
I spent a long time liking Yellow, Trouble, and Clocks, and not even knowing who Coldplay was (were?). :( It wasn't until Speed of Sound came out that I thought, "this must be by that band that does that other piano-y song! (Clocks)" but my awful local radio station never seemed to tell you who the songs were by. But one day, and I'll never forget the moment, I was turning right on broadway with Speed of Sound on the radio and the DJ said "That was Coldplay with Speed of Sound. Boy those guys know how to put sounds together, eh? Next up..." I was like, "Coldplay, hm?" I bought X&Y shortly thereafter and then the guy I was seeing at the time lent me his Parachutes and Rush of Blood, and over and over again while listening I would exclaim "they wrote this too? I LOVE this song!" :D Uber-fandom didn't occur until much later though, when I was out of school and rediscovered them in my coworker's iTunes library at work. The 2nd time the Coldplay Love struck like lightning and there was no going back. ;)

"Robot (that ate Coldplay)" That made me laugh! Your sister is adorable. I bet she wants to be just like you, CP obsession and all. ;) I discovered tonight that the best thing about having a fish named Twiglet is that when I feed him I get to tap on the glass and yell "Twiglet? Twiglet? TWIGLET! TWIGLET!!" :D Last night I lost the Lovers in Japan bangle I've had since November's KC concert. Always makes me sad when one of the originals breaks. :(

Hmm... interesting but not exactly 'catchy.' ;) Listening to "Sometime Around Midnight." Should I be ashamed that I've never even heard of this band? :uhoh:

Awesome! :nice: You guys gotta help me! I've had Selfish Jean by Travis stuck in my head since Friday. I was enjoying it at first (bought the album on Saturday), but now I'm starting to... go crazy... Even the BZZT! BZZT! BZZT! of the 23,401 cidadas in the tree out back can not drown out the repetition of "Aaaaaaaah! Selfish Jean!" that is cycling through my brain. Help! :dizzy: edit: You keep your chocolate biscuits wired to a car alarm! Aaaah selfish Jean!

This happens to me almost every time, ugh! I bought this no-batteries, wind-up flashlight with built-in radio and siren (for storm emergencies, you know...) but I've been using for the radio while getting ready in the morning, winding it up every few minutes when it quits. I haven't heard any Coldplay yet (they don't play VLV much anymore) but I really can't wait to listen to a CP song on a flashlight. :nice: It'll be awesome.

Normally I don't care if I find a hole in my t-shirts, but I just saw one today in my blue butterflies T from the concert! :( I've only worn it a few times, too. Major bummer. Every time I wash it it's only gonna get bigger!

Coldplay's Next Album
Hey fellow Illinois resident! :D I've only lived here a couple years--does it really snow that much here or only up by the lake? I'm in Chambana so it's a bit further south. I was rather disappointed by last winter's lack of any respectable accumulation. :p Anyway my point was just that I hear "six feet of snow..." and am instantly put into a panic instead of a happy festive Chrismas spirit. ;) hehe

Laura helped me name my fish! His name is Twiglet! :D

Coldplay's Next Album
I hope if they release it they change the lyrics just a bit though. "Six feet of snow" is... a lot. :shocked2: I mean that's the kind of snow that was caving in roofs back home last winter. Even on Chrismas that much snow is not fun. ;)
