IMO,Violet Hill was indeed a weak single... Then VLV smashed it... Maybe they like the pattern of the first single not being their strongest off the album? Like for example In my place , compared to for example Clocks?

don't wanna rush into any conclusion but I see your point... I just hope that they put more thought into the music itself (which I believe they did) than the style of the album and the visual approach..
