If you would be living in Erlangen for two years already it would be: "Ich wohne seit zwei Jahren in Erlangen." But what you wanted to say was "2 years ago", right? So it would be: "Ich habe vor zwei Jahren in Erlangen gewohnt." Difficult with the past tense, I know. So you could say "Ich wohnte vor zwei Jahren in Erlangen." as well (but the imperfect isn't used in everyday language...). If Erlangen was an island and you were living there for two years already it would have been almost right! :lol:

:) Thing is that it's hard to analyse something you do automatically! I'm trying to think of a rule of thumb (Daumenregel)... but I guess there isn't an easy one... All those genders, declinations etc must be so hard to learn and remember... Where in Germany did you live? (Wo in Deutschland hast du gelebt?) http://www.dict.cc/ is a good online dictionary btw.

It's a difficult language!! I'm glad I'm a native speaker :lol: Want to take some lessons here to revive it? Is your teacher from Germany? At the boarding school in the UK that I went to the teacher was from Germany and she made me and my friend record tapes for listening comprehension!! A friend recently told me that they're still in use! :laugh4:

Ja, ich weiss, fahre eigentlich nie Zug sondern immer mit dem Auto... weils einfach billiger ist. Es sollte ja eigentlich attraktiver sein, mit der Bahn zu fahren - isses aber nicht. Um ne Freundin in Bonn zu besuchen, kann ich entweder 4 Stunden lang mit der Bahn fahren oder zum selben Preis in 2 Std mit dem Auto und muss nich noch vom Bahnhof zu ihr kommen etc. :dozey: Naja, freut mich, dass ich euch mit dem Ticket helfen konnte!!! Habs selber erst gefunden, als ich nach deinem Post auf der Bahn Homepage war. Einige Ländertickets gelten nämlich auch über Bundesland - Grenzen hinaus. Mit dem Saarland / Rheinland- Pfalz Ticket kann man z.B. auch bis nach Bonn fahren... Wenns mit der MFG nich klapt, wird der Zug zwar n bissl teurer... aber ich kanns nich oft genug sagen: Lasst euch das Konzert wegen sowas nich entgehen!! Dein Avatar is übrigens sehr schön! :)
