Sapling Trust? :O i love that name!!
  8. In no way am I annoyed at your posts, i just said something - ie. my opinion and you stated yours, we had a disagreement and there we have it. Not everyone is going to agree with who is better and who is worse, everyone has their own point of view. We all have opinions and everyone will disagree with someone else sooner or later. I don't care what they do, I like the music, and you have your preferences. I don't want to start something stupid over opinions because it isn't worth it. You can't say your right - and I have not even said I am right and you are wrong. Now, enough of this...but it got the blood boiling and I like that! :wink3: if we are comparing Arcade Fire and Radiohead - where do you think AF will go next? do you think they will get into that funk that Radiohead did around the Kid A era?
  9. well sorry for trying to make a point. I did use Editors and Interpol...but you have to rip on me, congrats. in regards to Radiohead over Arcade Fire, as I said, it is too hard to compare considering what Radiohead has done and how they have evolved. wanna go back on topic? or criticize some more?
  10. I wouldn't call them bad. I am talking about the industry and comparing acts and how certain bands gain success, read what I wrote. It is a comparison - I am not talking about the music, because it's completely different. No point in causing an argument.
  11. I did like The Suburbs. It flowed very well and there were songs that really caught my attention to songs where I could just calmly listen to. Coldplay did I guess 'fall out' with X&Y, but I still do not understand why. There was far too much hype around that album, and people assumed it would sound similar to Parachutes and AROBTTH, which it didn't so they got slammed, but in no way to me was it a disaster, i loved and still love X&Y. Muse I just wish were huge - selling out stadiums in the US, I don't know why, just the genius of the group, they should be more prominent then rubbish like 3OH3!, like what is this nonsense that's become of the music industry? and Deaths_friend, Editors and Interpol are top notch in my group of favorite bands, and I wish people would know who they are, everyone knows Interpol for TOTBL but nothing else, and nobody really knows editors...too bad great talent goes un-noticed
  12. meh, i think they are, but 5 albums in, they haven't really broken in as much as Coldplay for example, and Muse has been around much longer
  13. I completely agree - the way Arcade Fire has made the Alternative music scene look with NEW bands, I would say they are the best one out there - but the are no Coldplay, Depeche Mode, Cure and Radiohead...all of those bands hold so much to their careers, with the songs, albums and followings they have created. I do feel that Interpol are an underrated group since 2000 that have made 3 amazing albums and continue to make amazing music. Another band that changes their sound is Editors, but yet again - the lack of attention in North America is frustrating since they cannot hit such a huge market. it's the same deal with Muse - they are the world's biggest rock band that America doesn't know about, i mean, people know about them...but they aren't as big as they could be.
  14. O M G thank you for reminding me! just turned the TV on! :) EDIT: The performance was pretty good I'd say, just makes me more excited to see them. and the pre-order is up on iTunes with a bonus track, I want it!
  15. I agree, I can't wait. I've listened to the leak about 3 times, but i need to lay off for a better quality CD version! :)
  16. THANK YOU BERRYWOMAN! :) as great as the AF are, they cannot compare, i mean, there is greatness on many levels, but look at the evolution of radiohead, say, from Paolo Honey to OK Computer to Kid A to In Rainbows, it's astounding!
  17. there is no way we can compare the Arcade Fire to Radiohead, in my opinion. We can based on the three albums, but saying AF is better than Radiohead is inaccurate because Radiohead have been around longer and have made more albums, such as Kid A, In Rainbows and Hail To The Thief, once AF get to that many records, then I think we can compare...
  18. I have to say, after recently listening to everything Arcade Fire before I got the leak of the suburbs, I want to say they do an amazing job. yes, their first three albums can be compared to Radiohead's first three, but the style of music is much different between the two. So yes, you can compare, but they are so different in their own regards. I would agree to the_gloaming09's list though :)
  19. mmm, sexy
  20. it is hard to rank any good band when all their albums are great. This one is good, and I do love OLTA, it's really good...apart from The Lighthouse, i dislike it...
  21. i have listened to it twice. it is dark as hell. to me there aren't too many slow paced songs like The Lighthouse, which makes me happy... I love Summer Well, Success, Always Malaise, and the core part of the songs as well overall, it's a great album. i'm not sure anyone will say it is their best, however all of their albums bring a quality, this is different sounding album, but with previous influences all around it. love the record
  22. I am 2 tracks in and loving it. problem is the quality - it skips in some parts and i feel like I am missing out. I wish there was a better one out there NOW! aha
  23. where where where where?
  24. I am looking forward to letterman, but previews for the other songs would be AWESOME
  25. next thursday? awesome. I will listen to a leak - but i buy the music hands down! :) and I bought my tickets today! AUGUST 10th!!!
