  4. it is, Pearl Jam grew out of the grunge phase, and personally, it wouldn't have survived if Nirvana was still doing the same thing alongside Pearl Jam.

  11. first of all, Tom said that this record will draw some fans away, and I guess you are victims. this album to me is flawless, definitely up for album of the year for me. They said they were scrapping guitars, and I don't really miss them. The electronic aspects of this record are astounding and every track brings something completely different. It is not like TSP Adore and it is more Depeche Mode-y In my mind, the only dud is The Boxer, which moves rigorously slow. If you don't like the title track, you won't like the CD. It is a COMPLETE change and is darker than ever. Bricks And Mortar is a pulsing song and is my favorite so far, apart from Like Treasure which has those faded background vocals that gives me shivers. Walk the Fleet Road is the most 'original' Editors song on there, and it is simply amazing. This album will be hated on because it's a complete turn around, just like U2's Zooropa and Pop. and when you think about it, those albums are great as well. Just because it is not the same guitar driven album does not mean it is bad. I would not be happy with another album like their previous two. This direction is amazing and I hope they keep it up, i can't wait for Cuttings 2 with the extra songs. I couldn't stand another album and it would get boring, this change in direction is only just a start for Editors and they will only get darker and darker as time goes on. Clockpolitiks you have to look at this album not expecting guitars they did warn us and their videos of these songs were on youtube for a long time. I feel AEHAS was more slower than this record, like most sophomore albums. It is a great record, that's all I'm saying EDIT: Bernard, thank you for supporting me. It sounds like them, but it doesn't. Can't wait until they come here. Love this album so much. I've listened to it at least 8 times

I have just gotten my hands on some Athlete, the youtube stuff I've seen seems quite good, so maybe they're another group I can begin to like! :)

  20. I am bumping this thread and posting yet another lyric here! well, a lyric and a poem. here we go ---------------------------------------- Space And Time Tell me a story Reach out your hand Give me a solid place to stand Tell me a story Of everlasting glory Everything I’m made to withstand With me is no space and time I live through all the rhythm and rhyme And in this perfect place of mind Nothing will get left behind With you One of a kind Under the riptide I’ll hide away Floods up to my waist Don’t you make haste Return my bed of roses Part the water like Moses But be wise of its thorns With me is no space and time I live through all the rhythm and rhyme And in this perfect place of mind Nothing will get left behind With you One of a kind Give me directions I won’t listen anyway Throw this to stray And we can forget today With me is no space and time I live through all the rhythm and rhyme And in this perfect place of mind Nothing will get left behind With you One of a kind --------------------------------- Ripples I’m staggering I’ve noticed things changing I often have no control I wish I was a skipping stone Going out to a point Then being pushed back to the start Who knows how further I’ll go Rough waves stop me from achieving But they don’t last as long as I do My journey’s long But I’ll find another shore In time for someone else to throw me away even though I don’t want to go…
