  1. +1 +1 Damn evil totalitarian governments! Always messin' with my moral high ground.
  2. secrets If it's secret, it wouldn't align with my beliefs. I believe in open, transparent and inclusive social organizations.
  3. GIVE UNWANTED VOUCHERS TO CHARITIES Being unable to even give away my Argo vouchers to friends and family (even those who are sports crazy), I decided that rather than just waste them, I'd give them to a charity.I gave mine to Toronto Community Living, but I'm sure that Big Brothers/Sisters or maybe one of the children's aid societies would gladly accept them for the people they serve. You might even get a tax receipt.
  4. oops I corrected the date. BTW, today's prediction for July 30 is sunny with a few clouds and high of 24C
  5. weather forecast The gods of the Weather Network have seen the light! They're no longer calling for rain on July 30th. Mostly sunny with a high of 24C and no reported chance of precipitation! Thank me later!
  6. link to flag Here's the link to the flag again: http://www.coulas.com/printable%20flag.jpg
  7. printing the flag image and enviro concerns Printing companies don't generally care, and often don't even look at what they're printing for customers. I worked in that industry for several years. Trust me. I'd definitely go for the coloured print (red). Even though I know all of us here are very responsible and sensitive to environmental issues, I feel some responsibility to say: Please don't litter when you're done with the flags - place them in a paper recycling bin - even if you have to take it home to do so. We'll all look best if there's no trace of this endeavour at the Rogers Ctr. or on the street after the show. And if at all possible, print the flags on recylced paper. I'm not sure if the Rogers Ctr. will allow anyone to take in a stack of papers to distribute. It may be best for everyone to take in a number in discretely. If everyone who reads this brings, say 10, for distribution in the pit, that should be enough to make a visual impact from the stage. As for the timing, I'd suggest the beginning of Lovers in Japan (in anticipation of the real butterflies). I'm going to make an iron-on ink-jet transfer of the flag to apply to a T-shirt. Getting very exciting!
  8. GA seating Unless you bought reserved seating GA, the row A1 means nothing (except perhaps to the vendor's computer). Noone will be sitting in the pit anyway.
  9. weather The Weather Network's long range forecast is for cloud and rain, high of 21C. The rain part just got added this morning. And really, how often is the weather-person right? :rolleyes:
  10. Support bands I've checked out Elbow and Daisy, Kitty and Lewis on You Tube and Wikipedia. They both sound great! The word that stands out for me in descriptions of DK&L is "Rockabilly". And I'm loving this Elbow video and song: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hooPU2mdsH4&feature=fvst]YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.[/ame] Looking forward to hearing both live 8 days hence!
  11. awesome My favouite part is when Chris tip-toes cat-like into the squirrel's den - so Wyle E Coyote! I was hoping to see Will, Guy and Jonny, but even without them, the creative elements of this vid are truly remarkable and will endure. And unlike I'd said after seeing just the trailer, I now think it does complement the spirit of the song. Light, summer fun!
  12. excited??!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: I really glad to have a work deadline to distract me from my Coldplay anticipation. I used to have a life - really! Anybody wanna dance? :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: Are all Coldplayers like this! Tell me I'm not alone!
  13. my bracelets Got mine about 10 days after ordering them by phone. I'm glad I phoned because I wanted to ask about sizes. There are men's and women's. I have pretty large hands and the men's roll on quite easily, though I wouldn't want them any smaller. Gave two away to a friend who was playing a gig on Saturday - he has very big hands - no problem if you ROLL them on over the widest part of your hand. I'm wearing them 24/7 and no sign of wear or breakage. They didn't have a full multi-coloured set so mine are sort of customized blue. People at the California concerts this week report buying them there too.
  14. awesome pics These pics are awesome, folks! Ian, who took the ones you posted - Chris and Jonny are amazing!
  15. my 2 cents Generally, North Americans are more likely to have orthadontic work done than people from the UK. It's become a cultural and social standard. Some people can afford orthadontists and others can't. Some cultures obviously place more importance on perfect teeth than others. I think all the Coldplay guys have had some work done over the past ten years. A single deviation from perfect bodily symetry is irrelevant to me. For me, their attractiveness is their total package, and that certainly includes their music.
  16. Good times! So excited for you all. Enjoy!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:
  17. Yes! Cheese! (But wouldn't that make us "cheezy little fan boys" as derided by Roadie #42 ?) And we can hope for a really really hot day! If the garbage workers strike isn't resolved, however, noone will notice! :cheesy::cheesy: :laugh3::laugh3::laugh3: :toilet:
  18. end the puppetry not more puppet pics! arghh! Enuf with the puppets already! imho :bomb::bomb::bomb:
  19. Go Erick! SOOOOOO happy for you Erick!!!!!!!!!!! :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance: :wings::wings::wings: :dance::dance::dance::dance: :sunny::sunny::sunny: :happy2::happy2::happy2::happy2: :crown::crown:crown::crown::crown: :whistle::whistle: :hug:
