"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
videos Because I live quite remotely, hi-speed internet only became available to me very recently (2 weeks ago). Also, I don't get a TV channel from my satelite that shows Coldplay videos. The result: after becoming a Coldplay nut last fall, I didn't see one of their vid's till 14 days ago. Some are better than others at conveying what I hear in their music, but I'm very happy to have experienced, embraced and assimilated their music first. The trailer for Strawberry Swing has some ultra-cool art, but so far, it doesn't mesh with the images that my own mind generated from just hearing the music. That's okay - everyone, including the art directors of the videos, has their own mental images for every song. There's no right or wrong here, and sometimes it's just interesting to see someone else's perspective. It certainly doesn't negate your own, and it might just enrich it. But in my humble but well-tempered opinion, Coldplay is about music and not about videos which are a necessary "evil" in marketing in today's music industry. So when Coldplay's next album is released, I think I'll stick to getting familiar with the music and assimilatiing it into my own repertoire of visual imagery before I allow the video director's vision to become mine.

I'm in I won't be in the line-up as I need to know there's a seat I can use if I need to - in A6 - tho I'll probably stand like eveyone else for the whole concert. But I would certainly be willing to chip in on any costs associated with a colpdplaying.com-ers meet-up (e.g. if printing costs are an issue).

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
cheesy little fanboy ?? Referring to any fan as a "cheesy little fanboy" is a really insensitive and un-Coldplay-ish thing to do (even if you're comparing yourself to one). We "fan boys" take enough crap for our enthusiasm about Coldplay without being dis'd by one of their roadies! R#42 sounds like one of the schoolyard bullies that Chris talks about in The Hour interview of last year. Evolve!

Actually there are two points in the final episode where we're let in on who survives - but they are different! Are you sure you know? :smug:.

~*~ The Official Will Champion Appreciation Thread ~*~
Will videos I just got hooked up to high speed internet so I can watch Coldplay videos for the first time ever (I don't get a TV channel that plays their videos). I've watched Viva, Fix You and Yellow so far. What are the best vid's for Will-watching?

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
act my age? ....when you're 55 years old and so excited about the upcoming Coldplay concert that people you used to call freinds tell you to act your age! :whatever:

Harper's Island
great ending So I got to watch the final two episodes last night and can say that the ending is worth the wait. Still more twists and lots of chilling moments. Lots of questions answered and some for you to figure out on your own once you know the ending. Overall, a very satisfying summer TV experience. I'd watch it again from the beginning. One word to the wise: for an extra chill, be sure to watch to the very end.

Harper's Island
this week's a repeat So this week, they re-aired Episode 1. The final two episodes will both air next week in a two hour conclusion. I was surprised at how much I'd missed or forgotten in Episode 1, so I was glad for the repeat. For example: why, at the end, there appears to be noone else on the island; the humour in the relationsghip between Chloe and Cal; the duplicity of the bride's father; cousin Ben's name and the fact that he was wearing an air mask at the time he was killed; and the tension between Uncle Harry and the bride's father. Fun to re-visit. Looking forward to the conclusion.

murder & mayhem Thy're dropping fast now! Just when I though it was geting a bit boring because we knew who the real murderer is, there's a surprise twist at the end of the latest episode (i.e. the one after we realize that the Sherrif is not the murderer).

What Do YOU Want From Coldplays 5th LP
5th release was LRLRLRL Chris said in an interview that LRLRLRL is their fifth (full) CD release, so shouldn't we be talking about the 6th? I'd love to hear more vocals by Will, Guy and Jonny, and some more world music influences would be awesome too! But whatever they create will be repeating on my MP3 player for a long time. And I'm sure I'll still feel that they are heroic geniuses.

CSI
And Greg, the lab tech promoted to CSI. (His replacements in the lab have been unsufferable.) Oh, and Brass, the "brass". Nic is my fav character of all 3 shows. My choices in order: best - CSI (the original) ok - NY so-so - Miami I miss Grissom's (sp?) dry humour and I really like the Warrick character. I always found the Sara Sidal to be too fragile beside the others. I thought the miniature models series really engrossing - even chilling at times. On NY, I just can't get past thinking of Gary Senise in his "The Stand" role. On Miami, ...............I whince............... every time............... Caruso's .................character.................. is speaking. His halting style of phrasing is too artificially affected, imho. Good thread.

Top 5 Most Overrated Bands Of All Time
So I spelled their name incorrectly. I had also typed "Bob Jovi", but cought that one on time to edit it. I do agree with you about The Grateful Dead. I think one had to be there with them from their beginnings.
