  1. home Welcome to the planet "Coldplaying.com" - you're home now!
  2. That's certainly been my experience, too! Welcome!
  3. welcome You are very welcome here and though I'm relatively new here too, I, like you, think you'll fit right in.
  4. welcome Hi Noonsun: You are most welcome here and from what you've told us, you actually belong here. A crush on Chris (or Jonny or Will or Guy) is pretty normal here. I can get really annoyed with critics, too. What really annoys me is when they trash some song or album but from what they then say about it, you know they haven't even listened to the whole thing. Grr! Have a great time here - I think you will!
  5. welcome You are Welcome here Kite (love the "handle"). I was quite nervous about joining the board, but haven't had a single unpleasant encounter to report. Just fun!!!!! Hope you have lots of it here.
  6. welcome Welcome here!
  7. do some reading This question might best be answered by the Oracle, but No, you don't NEED to buy pre-sale tickets. Doing so just gives you the first and probably best chance to get a good ticket. But you can take your chances and wait for the regular sale if you like. As for the the "whole Ticketmaster/Live Nation pre-sale stuff?" you can find all the info you need by reading this thread, starting with the post that is the 5th before this one (mine), and the "pre-sale" thread. You'll need to do some reading. :o Good Luck! ;)
  8. Well, if you knowingly pay a premium for tickets, you're not exactly getting ripped off. You can only buy them if you agree to the price. Doesn't feel ethical, but we live in an open market, supply and demand economy etc. The tickets posted on various sites as of today don't really exist yet because not even presales have happened yet. The vendors (either a website or an individual posting the offer on a website that provides that service) are speculating that they will be able to get the tickets they are offering. Some of the sites say something like - "this seat or better" guaranteed, which I assume means that if they don't get the ticket you bought, they will refund your money (unless they're fraud - see below). If you use such a service, you are buying "on spec(ulation)". A very different situation also exists presently and is specifically targeting Coldplay ticket buyers. These sites are scams run by thieves. PLEASE READ THIS ARTICLE on the Coldplay Live forum (thanks to Ian) http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2839947#post2839947 If you manage to miss out on a presale and the actual ticket sale is sold out before you can buy yours, you are likely in the hands of the scalpers, who don't care how much you need to see Coldplay and will sell tickets for the best price they can get. Sometimes you can get last minute deals, but who wants to chance that! Regarding the Ticketrush site: If you are trying for the first time to buy a preale ticket through Ticketrush, once you select your event, they re-direct you to LiveNation anyway. If you've already joined Ticketrush and later return to their site, their site recognizes you and automatically re-directs you to LiveNation (at least until the presale password changes at the end of the month when, I hope, it will let us in again to get March's presale password, if we haven't had the presale yet). And by the way, everything you need to know to buy Coldplay tickets is posted in this thread or the presale thread. GOOD LUCK! We're all in the same boat.
  9. Intervention I bvought "Intervention" after Will named it as worthy and becasue they are Canadian. It's on repeat on my MP3 player at the moment. I'll be getting the rest of Neon Bible asap. Great music! (I also loved the description of Slipknot in the interview)
  10. Ian thought there might be two ghosts! Ian thought there might be two ghosts! They didn't get to Will though 'cause they got exposed! They didn't get to Will though 'cause they got exposed!
  11. I think July and part of June are considered summer months too, happily :)
  12. They are coming to Canada too. You just disregard that? "the Americans are very acceting of other nations" and "it’s not in our (British) national character to celebrate our own greatness" :stunned: Oh my! I barely know how to begin. Let's just say that we don't always see ourselves with the clearest perspective.
  13. Just noted this on BuyEvents.com: Molson Amphitheatre July 29 Section: 102 Row: N $1,425.00 US Good Luck !! to all Coldplayers for tomorrow and Friday as we all try our best to get tickets.
  14. very very weird This whole mess (as it seems to me to be) is a very un-Coldplay experience. I'm not a concert-goer but MUST see Coldplay and as Toronto is the only Canadian date announced, I really want tickets. It's weird to me that whatever is going on corporately, we, the fans, are the ones who are affected adversely. I just have to take a break from it for a while to keep my sanity.
  15. Will rules WILL RULES! I think they are making a gradual transition from the old "Viva..." costumes to the new "Prospekt" costumes. VIVA LA PROSPEKT And I love when Ian or Cooky find new pics! Don't stop!
  16. The lawn area at the very back will be general admission. The closer to the stage, the better the seats here. Section 4 and all lawn seats are under the open air. Other lettered sections are under a roof.
  17. No Candian dates posted yet at Ticket Rush as of now. Ziggy
  18. I agree, and I'm confused too. I'm just speculating (reasonably, I think) about the connection between the controversy and the disappearance of Coldplay tickets from their site. There is probably a corporate difference between Ticketmaster Canada and Ticketmaster USA, and of course the regulating bodies may be respondiong differently in the two countries. But we're not alone and thousands of fans have made their feelings known about this aggravating situation to Ticketmaster (you can, too, if you like - I did) since the Springstien news broke on Firday. I just want to see Coldplay at reasonable (and not artifically hiked) ticket prices! I think we just need to be patient and keep checking the ticket sales sites, especially Live Nation. If I learn anything more definitive I will post it here, and I ask that anyone else do the same. Fingers crossed, Ziggy
  19. Ticketmaster controversy On Friday Feb 6th, a story hit the Candian media that Springstein fans and the Boss himself were berating Ticketmaster for unfair ticket selling practices. Ticketmaster owns a reseller, Ticketsnow, and when Ticketmaster sold Of Springstein tickets out in a few minutes, there were a multitude of tickts available on Ticketsnow, at a huge mark-up, of course. Ticketmaster is also trying to merge with LiveNation. Here's a link to a CNN story about this story: http://edition.cnn.com/2009/SHOWBIZ/Music/02/06/ticketmaster.livenation.reax/ Looks like Ticketmaster has reacted to the outcry and took down their early lisitngs. I'm assuming that Coldplay tickets will be posted on Ticketmaster and/or Live Nation on Friday Feb 13th as announced. In the meantime, there are other re-sellers with tickets listed for sale. One is "jumbotickets", but I'm guessing their prices are inflated too (can someone please let me know if that guess is correct?). Ziggy
  20. Now I'm not sure whether I'm looking forward more to 1. 60 Minutes, which I'd given up watching years ago when it gave up journalism and became tabloid TV, or 2) the Grammy's, which, up till about two years ago, was reliably a good evening's entertainment. Don't look for anything new on 60 Minutes about the Satriani suit. Their lawyers will be telling them exactly what to say and not to say. (And Chris is such a good boy when it comes to doing as he's told by the corporation (tongue planted firmly in cheek!))
  21. Even though some of us would not be like hippies - we would actulally BE hippies because we wouldn't be making that trek late, we'd be doing it AGAIN!!:P (If a Grateful Dead fan is a Dead-Head, does that make me a Play-Head!? )
  22. Canada too ! If this is true, I hope they come to Canada too, but I'd travel a very long way to see them. Apparently they do like Toronto.
  23. sporty I thought I'd found alomost all the Will pics, but you always come up with some "new" ones that surprise and delight! (I don't think Will's geeky - I think he looks sporty, sometimes scholarly, and always disarming.) :wink3::D
  24. huh? makes me think, "Huh? Did I miss something here?"
  25. great photos of Will and GREAT PICS !!!
