HAH. Most people who love Korn and SOAD are misfits? What the hell are you smoking, woman? Christ, it's more likely that a teenager that likes Coldplay is a misfit imo, since teenagers who go OMG ANGGERRRRRR and jam out to metalhead music like Korn are really fucking popular if you haven't yet noticed..... whereas most teenagers that I've met think Coldplay is shit with the (POSSIBLE) exception of their bad pop songs like Viva La Vida. If this is about not fitting in then you are just nuts, okay? Just insane. From what I can tell you are all about "not fitting in" -- if you REALLY want to not fit in sit with that Indian kid who spends hours in the library reading or something, or learn about something you actually are interested in, or reject the kind of music you like. People who "don't fit in" are almost in the majority in American high schools anyway; you are far less cool than you think you are. And personally I don't understand what you can like about those kinds of bands, all it is is "ANGERANGER RARRRR RAGGGEEEE." I mean you could make the point that Coldplay is just "oooh love wheeee I love love whee I love you please be nice to me" but Coldplay's music makes a lot more points about humanity or whatever than metal music does. I mean, the only emotion that kind of music can express is anger and depression and so forth -- it's like the band members never got emotionally past thirteen. That's just an issue of taste, I suppose, but I think my point still stands.
