  1. OMG, it's today! :cheesy: I'm already having an extremely good day as it is. This is just going to make it even better.
  2. Yeah, true. Also, it's because I have a feeling they're only going to do so many more tours before calling it quits. Maybe I'm paranoid, but I feel like I have to catch Radiohead as soon as remotely possible.
  3. Yeah, I know. I get really bummed out about that sometimes. Thankfully, in Texas, that's not as huge of a problem. At least, it doesn't seem that way to me. I'm glad you approve, however. :nice: Haha, thank you! :wacky: Well, they're getting old. Thom Yorke is in his 40s, yes? I've seen artists on TV (e.g. The Rolling Stones during the halftime show at the Super Bowl) trying to get away with doing stuff in their 60s, and it doesn't work because they're so old. They sound bad. Actually, with me, I'm pretty picky about live music. I added those artists on my list knowing that I wouldn't think they're terrible. I was thinking White Lies, but then I remembered watching a live performance of "Bigger than Us" on YouTube and thinking how horrible Harry McVeigh sounded, so I didn't put them there. /horribly long live music rant.
  4. Yeah, I noticed that when I went to revisit Briggins' thread. OOPS. Allow me to fix that: 4. As a music education major, what I want to do more than anything is to inspire young minds and show them the wonders of what music has to offer. I want them to see what I see when I see music. Music is literally my life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. As far as what I hope to accomplish for myself, I just want to be completely content with how I live my life, no matter where that takes me. Yeah, I know. I have a bucket list as far as that goes. Trust me. This segways into my answer to your next question: -MUSE. Obviously. I have to see them before I die. NO EXCEPTIONS. -The National -Franz Ferdinand -Radiohead, because time for me to be able to see them is running out fast. D: -Sufjan Stevens, to throw a solo artist in there. Please keep in mind that with the exception of Muse, this is highly unstable because this reflects my current tastes, and I'm also the most indecisive person ever.
  5. OH YEAH, that too. I didn't think of that at all. I knew that. :blank: I'm sorry, Emma. I'm retarded. :disappointed:
  6. OOOOOH. Great list of questions, Mike! 1. Mannheim Steamroller's "Halloween 2," most definitely. Mannheim Steamroller typically does wonders, especially concerning Christmas music. I liked the first Halloween album, so I was excited when I saw the second one in Wal-Mart. It ended up being a complete waste of my money. I was so sad. 2. I have never been to a rock concert. Ever. :disappointed: 3. I have trouble deciding between all the countries that are Europe. If I had to pick, I guess I'd go with the following, in order: 1. Italy 2. Spain 3. England 4. Ireland 5. France Actually, right now, I'm more into the "All Delighted People" EP than anything else. However, that's not an LP, so I suppose that leaves your question unanswered. "Illinoise" is solid. Like I told Ivet, I'm a Sufjan n00b still who has a lot to learn, so it's hard to answer this question objectively.
  7. Alright, then. Get to it! While you do that, I'll work on getting a passport. I've always wondered about this, so I'm going to ask you. I always see you promoting the music of Canada. Is it just a coincidence that a lot of your favorite music comes from your own country, or is there something more to the equation?
  8. No, I don't. I once wrote a piano prelude several years ago, and that was as far as I went in terms of composing. I find it very difficult to get inspiration for such things.
  9. In that case, will you pay for my round-trip ticket to Quebec for me so I can look around?
  10. Um. No, thank you. Well, it seems there you already have a pretty good idea. :nice: You definitely need a "bio" section. A forum would be nice, but given the situation (as it's you and your friend), it doesn't seem very practical. I don't know. Just make sure that whatever you do, it's very informative and remains up-to-date at all times. Yeah, actually. The "and"s are godawful.
  11. Where can I find Karkwa's first two albums?
  12. THIS. It doesn't feel right, and when he tries to go for the low D and doesn't get down on the pitch all the way, it irritates me. Stop trying to sing lower than you can actually go.
  13. Wow, Eddie! That's fantastic! Congratulations! :nice:
  14. Whaaaaa? Since when is music meant to be a specific way? Music is subjective. You shouldn't throw around restrictions like that. Making mixtapes is my favorite thing to do for other people. It gives people a better glimpse of who I am, and it helps introduce them to things they might not have otherwise been exposed to. I made a mixtape for a friend of mine, and because of it, he is now a huge fan of Fleet Foxes, and today, he ended up sharing them with another friend of mine. See, this is why mixtapes are awesome. Yeah, you read right. I'm loving her so much right now. "The Brothel" (the song) has been my current favorite song for the past three days. I decided to look into her Tuesday after finding the YouTube link you posted for "Father Father" in the "songs you're obsessed with" thread. Thank you, Will. She is great. Well, how I listen to music depends on the setting. If I'm working on something on the computer, I have to put it on shuffle. I get completely distracted when listening to albums all the way through in that case. If I have a craving for certain songs from different albums, then I listen to those. I do have times when I listen to the albums all the way through, though.
  15. +1 Hey, Muse got 3 nominations! :cheesy: Too bad two of them are for one of their weakest numbers, one of which faces off against Arcade Fire's "Ready to Start," which is honestly better than "Resistance."
  16. ^ :cheesy:! It's about time!
  17. Should I tweet him? :anxious:
  18. No, thank you.
  19. I don't know you that well, but I've seen you around. Welcome back! :nice:
  20. I figured you might have been, but I wasn't sure. I've already answered the first question. I can't really answer the second two for the sole reason that because I'm a Sufjan n00b, I'm not fully familiar with the entirety of his discography just yet. Whenever I do, I'll be able to tell you for sure. Is this to say that you'd like me to ask you a question? In certain instances, yes. Tammi. :D OOOOOH, good question. It's a subjective question, so I can't say. I'm rather attached to "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear" and "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," for some weird reason. ...Pages? What do you mean? If your forum location proves correct, Pennsylvania. Google is a wondrous thing. YES PLX. :cheesy: Ireland is weird like that.
  21. Wow, that must be a REALLY thick chair. It's OK, Christina. I once "lost" my phone and searched the entire music building for it, just to discover it was in my hoodie the entire time. :blank:
  22. :cheesy:! I'm so excited, you don't even know.
  23. FFFFFFFUUUUUUU. OK. So Karkwa and Susanne Sundfør have shown me that I need to revamp my list a bit. DAMMIT.
  24. I don't know whether to wish him "Happy birthday" now or later. It's not quite the 2nd here yet, but it is in England, and that's where he's from. :wreck:
  25. I wasn't there to see it, so I can't really judge the miracle level of the fire coming back on.
