  1. I only discovered this band a month or so ago... but since then I've fallen madly in love with them and collected their entire back catalogue! :wacky:
  2. I'm considering summer school too. Though thats mostly because a) I'm going to need to be down here about them house-hunting, and b) I need an excuse to be down here for Laneway :P Now to copy Jamie's format... Woo! :D Oh and BEACH WEATHER FTW 'twas amazingly epic. I plan on going next year too, no matter the venue :dead: they were AMAZING. Sorry, but it's true. The truth hurts sometimes. Well they're coming back out, all hope is not lost! I caught them at Splendour, but being in the pit that third night would have been SO AMAZING in hindsight!! My regrets for 2010: None whatsoever. I've had an amazing year, in terms of music and not. I wouldn't change a thing!
  3. ^ Join the club! :P But you will find the money if you really want to go see someone, believe me :P Haha, ok. All we really have to do is remember PAGE 87  Also, in that case I have to add Good vibes to my list :P I shouldn't go to too many more throughout the summer though because I'll be waaaaay out of Brisbane. I'll literally be making a trip back to Brissy especially for Laneway.
  4. ^ Yay, so you got tickets then! I've got my heart pretty set on Laneway now, so that and an Arcade Fire tour (though it doesn't have to be summer, just at some point :P) will be enough to keep me happy for a while. I'm hoping Arcade Fire don't come out here too early next year though, I don't reallly want to have to make a random trip back to brisbane in the middle of my holidays, lol.
  5. Me too! I heard one of his DJ sets once and it was really good. Also, the first lineup for the Playground Weekender festival in Sydney was announced this morning, and includes Caribou, Four Tet and Doves. Which explains why Caribou and Four Tet aren't coming to Laneway. First Lineup EDIT: wait, no it doesn't. ^ festival doesn't start til well after Laneway is over, ha. Suppose they don't want to holiday in Aus the whole 5 days between the festivals.
  6. Haha, the joys of festival season! Aww Eddie. Hopefully you can get in! Just bought tickets to the Triple J Aus music month party, to see Hungary Kids of Hungary :D Going with 3 people, should be fun!
  7. ^ good luck! NO! Didn't you read the rest of that conversation??? Yeah the Future lineup has some pretty strong acts. But Ke$ha, EWW. I'm actually kinda glad to hear that the National won't be doing extra shows up here because I'd have to go and see them if that was the case, and with Good Vibes, Laneway and Tim Minchin I don't quite have the extra cash!
  8. well it's been fun guys, but I have to get up at six in the morning for uni! Night :D
  9. Oh and I've been hooked on 'Coming Around' since the first time I heard it! That and 'Let You Down' are probably two of my favourites on the album.
  10. Sadly, yes. :laugh3: GOLD Also, random note, I was standing in front of Jonathan Boulet during John Steel Singers' set at Valley Fiesta. 'twas cool.
  11. Haha, I think we all know how that could end! :P I've never listened to the Parades, what are they like?
  12. Oh, so you've been... er, "collecting information" behind our backs, huh? Hardly seems fair that we weren't given any warning about this when we entered the thread. We could sue you for that.
  13. ^^ nor have I  Shouldn't that have been in the first post? Bloody law students. :P
  14. I know right! Well, the good thing about my spot is that I could actually see, lol. I have another chance in December to go crazy in the mosh :awesome: Oh and When You Were Young by the Killers was also AMAZING, to keep things on track a bit :P
  15. Lol I knew that, but when you get one taken out you only have half ~1million nephrons rather than the ~2mil you're born with, and seeing as you need at least ~1/2mil to survive then your life's going to be waaaay shorter, even though you'll still be alive :smug: Couldn't resist, sorry :P Also, because I regard it as Aussie music (technically), I'm going to go see Tim Minchin next year. WOO! :awesome:
  16. Haha, if there's a good thing about forgetting to buy tickets to the (sold out) first night, it's that seeing as the second night's STILL not sold out it should be relatively easy for me to get a good spot :D
  17. Well hi there! :awesome: Lol, what?? /offtopic
  18. It wasn't that bad, though I was slightly disappointed at the lack of moshing or even dancing in my area of the pit. I should have included Starlight, Supermassive Black Hole and Knights of Cydonia in my list... when I saw them Muse had been my favourite band for so long, so I was beyond ecstatic to finally be seeing them live!
  19. Lol no judgement here! I know a few awesome law students :awesome: Hmm that festival thing sounds interesting, I might be making my trip back down to brisbane sooner than I thought... Yeah I will. Who needs to learn about kidneys anyway?
  20. Lol posted that before reading your post Alex, I'll skip the lecture then :P
  21. Haha cool you're studying law?? I'm not going to leave it long, but it shouldn't be sold out within a couple of hours should it? Perhaps I'm being paranoid but I don't really want to skip the lecture I'll have on :P
  22. Foals - entire set, but especially Spanish Sahara... sent chills down my spine. Two Door Cinema Club - just awesome. Delphic - their whole set was 10000000x better than I expected and the guitar player kept smiling at me :awesome: Temper Trap + Mumford & Sons - Down River (need I say more?) Florence & the Machine - Cosmic Love Vampire Weekend - when I got the guitar pick The Killers - A Dustland Fairytale: this was during the first show The Killers had played since the death of Brandon's mum, and he played it as a tribute to her... then after the song finished he played "Can't Help Falling in Love with You" as a further tribute... I swear half the crowd was in tears and Brandon almost was. It was an incredible moment.
  23. Oh that's right, I forgot about Bono's dodgy back :P Haha thanks, I definitely will!! :D
