  1. Thanks :nice: it's on Sunday Dec 5th :wacky: 3 days after my exams FINALLY finish! It is my motivation to get through them right now. AAAAGGHHHHH still too far away! :laugh3:
  2. It's ok, at least you've come around by now :nice:  In other news... 12 DAYS!!!!!
  3. Holy hell. I have to admit, I actually gave the album a listen last night and enjoyed it a LOT more than I thought I would. I've been extremely anti-Kanye in the past (or for that matter anti-hip hop) but I actually found myself rather enjoying the album. Maybe this is a turning point for me :P
  4. WHAT??? :furious: That makes me angry indeed. Stupid EMI. Rhinestone Eyes is a better song than Doncamatic anyway imo, not that I have anything against Doncamatic.
  5. :blank: ... what does IKR mean? :disappointed: :P I know what you mean though. It only just feels like the sixth one came out!
  6. ^Yeah that's what I was referring to. I may need to bring a box of tissues when I go and see it :laugh3: July seems so far away now!!
  7. ^Agreed. I'll be ducking in and out of here for the next couple of weeks because I'm in the middle of exam block, but I'll try. So we all put in something about Down the Way, right? So next on the list... "Bliss Release" by Cloud Control Ahhh, the album I put as my number one for this year. The main reason for this is that I haven't stopped listening to the album since I got it back in [May/June?] on the day of its release. The sound is something new and fresh (for me anyway). From the kickstart of the guitar in 'Meditation Song #2' to the rather quirky lyrics of 'This is What I Said' to the beautiful closing of the album in 'Beast of Love', it's just a damn good listen. I once read a review that called the album "warmly nostalgic but never retro" which I think explains it pretty well. The musicianship is fantastic and there is enough variation between songs to not get even slightly sick of their sound (again, my opinion of course). And I think Alister's and Heidi's vocal complement each other really well. There are songs you can dance to, songs you can relax to and songs that just make you feel happy. They're definitely all sing-along-worthy. It's an album full of strong tracks and has released some awesome singles. In fact, I think I'm gonna go listen to it right now. So yeah, that's my argument. Your turn now :D
  8. ^ I almost cried when George got injured, I'll probably be a complete mess for part 2. Midnight screening here I come! :awesome:

  13. I saw it today! OH MY GOD best HP film yet by far!! SO EPIC :bomb: People were clapping at the end of it at the session I went to, too :P
  14. :freak: That's such an amazing lineup!!! All those artists (except maybe Edward Sharpe & Neon Trees but I don't really know them) are awesome! I'm jealous, that will be sooo good!
  15. ^ That's great news!!!!! You'll be blown away, guaranteed!! When is this show? :awesome: And if there's 8 other bands and Flo isn't even the top spot... who else is going??

  18. ^ I've never heard of the Red Eye Records place, but it looks legit enought. As for CD Wow, I've never used it but I'm pretty sure Alex has... so I think it's fine too
  19. I fail at getting up early. :dozey:

^ Apparently they have to push it back for reasons outside their control. They had to push their entire UK tour back for that same reason, according to their facebook.
  21. ^ It has definately strengthened it for me. But seeing as we're talking album of the year, not live performance of the year, it shouldn't really be taken into account. The album is still the album, regardless of how it sounds live.
  22. AHH MY COMPUTER KEEPS DOUBLE POSTING. Sorry :dozey:
  23. Down the Way is one of those albums that I can listen to again and again and the beauty of it doesn't fade. Granted, I'm a big fan of strings. But they utilise so many different instruments, to keep the songs sounding different enough for the album to be enjoyable the whole way through, but similar enough to keep it flowing for the whole hour that it runs for. The songwriting is brilliant, and like Jamie said there aren't any fillers on the album. I'm not saying it should win, but it's nonetheless a brilliant album. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon :D Note: opinion may be influenced after having seen them three times this year...
