  18. Hey! I was out at Gippsland all last year... it's not all that bad ;) Agree re the shirt, haha, excellent design on the back! Although I didn't get tickets to any of the 5 shows they're having here (slack, I know) I've discovered their last show EVER will be in brisbane, so I'll be sure to hang around the riverstage that night! And also possibly one or two of the other nights as well, just because I can :wacky:
  19. OK so here's what I got, I'll try not to weird you out with all my horsey terminology  Basically, to teach them to jump you just start off by guiding them over poles on the ground. And then you just gradually increase the height until they start jumping etc... they will almost always try a few times to "run out" or go around the jump but it's the rider's "job" to make sure that once we tell them to go over it they pretty much have to... but in saying that without being mean or bossy, just being firm... am I making sense??? Once they get the idea most horses love it :wacky: When you're riding a trained horse, like Perrine said, you need to be at the right speed/orientation for the particular type of jump, and the height - not too slow but certainly not too fast either. You pretty much get to a certain distance from the jump and then just make minor adjustments, as you don't want to distract the horse. /endspiel :freak: And yeah, I think motorbikes and horses are both quite dangerous, it's just that unlike the bikes horses can think for themselves :P

  23. ^LOL Eventing :nice: I know it's, like, the most dangerous thing you can do (apart from steeple-chasing) but I love it, it's so much fun  And a fantastic adrenaline rush!
  24. That's fair enough, I know a few people like that :nice: I guess that because I grew up riding them I've always had the mindset of having to get back on as soon as you fall off... I've fallen off more times than I can possibly keep track of
  25. ^^Oh no, what happened?? :( I've been riding for my whole life, I love it so much :wacky:
