  1. i saw your FB post first when i just woke up...then i re-read it & saw the official SP post on FB...really awake already by then! :shocked2: haha maybe he'll find it easier or more convenient to post stuff via Tumblr than blogging. & i'm guessing that ideally, Universal Music'd love it if he'd get on the Twitter bandwagon, but he's quite adamant that he hates it. so next best thing: Tumblr! no 140 chars limit & similar enough to blogging for our intrepid Mac-toting wordsmith... :P maybe he nicked it from Jonny's bro? :sneaky: but that shot from the beach is quite good...i wanna know what camera is that (especially if it's just a P&S cam!). seriously. [quote=a-chan;4662490 *hum* coughmecoughtoocough *hum* And did you see what they said on sp.com about his account?!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh :bomb: :awesome: I want random pics of the boys just as our Guy used to.... *greedy fan* I hope that he won't post a pic of a blank page saying 'this is where I'm at....' :laugh3: I'm so happy, I believe..I can flyyyyyy :D oi! wrong song! :whip: :P but am looking forward to the prospect of more posts from him...bring it on, Gary! :D
  2. :laugh3: try telling that to the guys of Biffy...& SP...& Coldplay. :P actually, i don't really follow SPL. so i didn't get what was the significance of the Rangers vs Celtic draw in relation to James' beloved Kilmarnock...aside from knowing that Simon's a Rangers fan + the fact that Rangers & Celtic are bitter rivals. anyone care to explain?
  3. always great to see grown men act like little boys when it comes to football! :wacky: btw, thanks for your post on FB, Anna! great way to start the day...haha (& my football filled week continues...)
  4. that'd be the Mosaic Festival. they're playing on 15 Mar according to Bryce. :D not too sure how Matt's gonna do the crowd walk for Mr November in the all seated Esplanade Theatre (that'll be interesting to see, if i was back in Singapore! haha), but i'm sure The National's gonna rock that metal durian!
  5. haha...i totally misread your post! my Sherlock skills obviously don't extend to reading stuff online. either that or i'm developing dyslexia with age. :dozey: kinda curious what exactly the "seven one-off pieces of jewellery" look like? or did i misread that too & that 1 picture is pretty much what all 7 of them look like? & yes, that DOES sound like a whip when you say it... "WAPA!!!" :whip: i suppose that's a sign that he's been back in Ireland for a while now. ;) he's said in interviews that his Irish accent becomes "impenetrable" (his own words! :P ...why the hell am i even remembering things like this when i can barely remember my own mobile number?!?! ) when he's home as opposed to when he's touring/away from home where he tends to neutralise his accent else the ppl can't understand him! :laugh3: & guess all that snow got to him! it's the flu season now here...apparently.
  6. ah, well...ol' Uncle Tom is the oldest. maybe he's mellowing down with age. i haven't been there myself, actually. read it somewhere only. but then, that area's a hive of musicians & actors/actresses anyway. not surprised. btw, don't think the guys'd like what that Wapa-Wapa site called their latest album... "best of album"! oh, dear...heh guess they just can't escape that label for Up To Now...even if it quite honestly can't really be called that. :P
  7. hahaha...they need time off to recover from the parties! must be some party when they celebrate! especially Gary's! 1 week!!! & yeah, Nathan does stay in London. he & Jonny still stay in London in the Crouch End area.
  8. haha...same thought too! he MUST live in the area! :sneaky: oooh...now that you mention Nate's birthday, maybe that's why Gary's in London now! to par-tay! :D guess the guys'll be getting hammered on loads of Guinness & that deadly Brazillian cocktail to celebrate his 30th... :wink3:
  9. haha...SP minds think alike? :wink3: & i'm still waiting for a blog post from him too.........& i want to know his opinion on Scott Pilgrim.............. & i saw Sam's (the creator of TTB) FB status today! she re-posted someone's tweet that mentioned that she (that person) was sat next to Gary at a pub in Camden! he's in London now?!?! wonder if he was at the Foals NYE Party? :D ....tho she's since deleted that status, it seems. can't see it on her wall anymore.
  10. i'm gonna bet with you that a lot of ppl don't know that there was a Tron before this movie. as we left the cinema, my sis mentioned that she had the feeling that they'll make a sequel if this one rakes in enough money based on the hype & all. i told her "that WAS the sequel! the original movie came out way back in the 80s." :dozey:
  11. yeah. he did say he specifically doesn't like Twitter cos it's destroys the English language (it does...i sometimes resort to using shorthand or txtspeak) & is pretty much like us going around barking at each other (right again there, Mr L!). & for Facebook, he just said he likes to keep his friends physical (hmmm... :P). but i follow that account anyway...mainly cos i was errrmmm specifically told & msged publicly on Twitter to follow him. i felt bad if i didn't &/or told her i had my suspicions that it isn't the real deal. :\
  12. the "Gary Lightbody" on Twitter wished happy new year... ;) tho i really don't think our Gary's the kind of person who'd use "homie", even online on his blog posts, & that line about Thomas Edison (which is the Twitter user profile pic for that account now) is pretty darn cheesy & cringeworthy. :P
  13. well said/written (about them music elitists)! :)
  14. agreed! :D & not quite the same as seeing them live, but close enough...the full video/set of one of their gigs: Daft Punk - Alive 2007 in Paris
  15. Couple - Malaysian indie pop band, saw them when they toured in the UK...ironically. Admiral Fallow - Scottish band, were supporting Frightened Rabbit at Shepherd's Bush.
  16. watched it this week in 3D...& imo, Tron: Legacy is one VERY pretty/cool movie! & i think this movie is one of the very select few that i think must be watched in 3D (the others being Avatar & Despicable Me...& perhaps How To Train Your Dragon too). the movie itself even opens with a note typed terminal-style saying that it was filmed for 3D viewing & to have our 3D glasses on throughout to fully enjoy it. ...hence, i'm not too sure if it'd still be as cool if watched in 2D. :\ the easiest way to put it is that this movie is pretty much a 2hr+ Daft Punk music video (ala Interstellar 555). storywise, it's no Inception or Scott Pilgrim. & it's pretty predictable. but there seems to be an underlying message sneaked in about the open source movement's goal vs a corporation's capitalistic goal (Ubuntu/Linux vs Microsoft anyone?) in all of this. i got the OST long before i watched the movie so i knew the songs already & it's great to have lovely luminescent imagery to fit in with the soundtrack. & Derezzed still remains the most awesome track on that OST, especially within the actual context of the movie. btw, to a minor extent, i think anyone who's played the Kingdom Hearts II video game would have had an idea of how the Tron world would look like with today's computer graphics magic vs what was achieved in the 80s (which was/is still impressive when i watch it). Tron: Legacy meets my expectation after Kingdom Hearts II's Tron world (called Space Paranoids :D) + 100x more. geek's dream come true, perhaps! :wacky:
  17. anyone care to review the DVD? is it worth getting?
  18. sitting around at a Starbucks & have some time to kill. so here's my (very quickly compiled & short) list: The National - High Violet Frightened Rabbit - Winter of Mixed Drinks Tired Pony - The Place We Ran From Foals - Total Life Forever We Are Scientists - Barbara Linkin Park - A Thousand Suns
  19. it must've felt like a generation gap between the TP guys & the Jonquil boys! especially for Peter... :laugh3: as for the DJ set, hope it still happened...unless the snow problem that UK is struggling to deal with, especially in the north prevented it from going ahead. & i was actually wondering if the SP guys somehow foresaw the travel chaos...since they ARE the Snow Patrol...& decided to stay on longer in Ireland over Christmas & New Year. there were photos in the papers of a completely snow covered (& beautiful) place/hill in Belfast from just last week or so!
  20. they must be quite young then...to be accompanied by a mum & all...are they younger than the Jonquil boys? haha there were jokes going around where i was standing at the TP gig about the Jonquil boys probably being in their early/mid teens only. :laugh3: it was great! FRabbit are all kinds of awesome live! we managed to get into the front row & centre + the venue's stage was really close to us so i got a few great photos/videos. & i'm no Gary L as far as music appreciation goes, but i thought their support act Admiral Fallow was really good too. & i got the "beard" that Scott FRabbit drew (he draws VERY well) for the night's gig! just £10 at the merch stall...manned by a guy who'd thought i'd mistakenly gone there looking for "beer". :dozey: ...ying56, i think this drawing must've been destined to be mine. haha :sneaky: btw i can't understand what they're saying in the video, but why's there so many F1 drivers + Bernie in the beginning of the video if it's a F2 thing? i love that poster! :D i can't find it being sold anywhere online so far, but then i already have 2 SP posters - the summer-y one with the shadow wearing a pair of headphones & the blue/white one with the "snow patroller" (who looks like a Rebel Alliance trooper in a Hoth snow gear) looking at the gramophone. incidentally, the guy who did the "snow patroller" poster also did one for Coldplay & the Franz Ferdinand one he did's really cool...a moveable puppet Alex Kapranos! anyway, a Happy Christmas to everyone here! & since this is the SP thread... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7PUCTy97Os]Snow Patrol - Just Like Christmas[/ame] :santa: :earmuffs: :hat:
  21. yeah! seeing them on NYE here in London...looking forward to it! too right!
  22. *sigh* so do i... :( but i already have a Biffy Clyro tee, actually. tho i don't see it on their merch web page. it's the "Officer" tee, but in grey with blue print instead of "honey". i find that most gig/band merch don't have much selection for girls, in general. but i'm luckily able to pull off wearing a Small guys' tee still.
  23. yeah, me too! & also The National*, Band of Horses, LCD Soundsystem, & to a certain extent Frightened Rabbit too (i'd coincidentally known about FRabbit post Gary gushing about them / supporting SP at Glasgow). * who, funnily enough, had Sufjan Stevens join them onstage in London as a surprise guest...another Gary/SP link! EDIT: oh. & Foals too! :)
  24. well, not in this photo. i'm not sure at all what tee he's wearing there since it's only the collar visible, as you said. but at the TP gig he had on that "busty shirt" & someone here/elsewhere online commented that she's seen that very same shirt at All Saints & called him a fashionista! :laugh3: then i happened to be at All Saints in Notting Hill just last week...was looking around & realised that the mens tees had the same ox/bull skull embroidered logo as those on some of Gary's plain/non-graphic tees seen in gig & interview photos. :sneaky: haha Gary "McGyver" Lightbody! on top of that L'Oreal ad work! :laugh3:
