  1. only Tokio Hotel is confirmed so far. the other very likely one is Lily Allen, actually. but i can't remember if she's been confirmed or not.
  2. they're coming back for MTV World Stage in July-ish anyway...which is also a free concert. but then, tbh, i have no problems with free gigs leh...better for my poor pockets. the big problem is getting a ticket for a free gig in the first place. :P
  3. y'know, i'm actually fairly certain that Gary makes use of the "alternative" means...case in point = quoted text in bold (from his latest blog post @ SP.com): + that thank you note in Final Straw to ppl who bought the album instead of d/l for free off the net... just saying........... :P
  4. *lol* that rapping bit is so cool!!! & love how Chris is grooving away on his bass in his own corner there... hahahaha...so retro!
  5. heh...i have that same relationship with Same too. i didn't like it first few times i heard it. even contemplated removing it from my music library. now i've grown to appreciate it. guess Same is one of those songs that need to be listening a few times before you love it... & i shall join Jen in the SP noob corner...i didn't know what's "the first week of term" either... Signal Fire's playing on my PC now (SP songs seem to come up on my PC when you're in the picture...& the plalist's set to random! :wink3: ) here, i'll try & tempt you to get it.......cos this is what you get in the collectors' box: while i've been a firm believer & user of *ahem* alternative means of getting songs, i have recently started venturing into getting legal song d/l...but an album in digital form still somehow can't beat owning a physical copy. even if they take up space. especially that beautiful Up To Now box set. btw, it comes with the full set of CDs of Up To Now too...so while i can't actually listen to the vinyls (yet...i plan to eventually get round to getting a vinyl player. one fine day. when i have my own place.), i can at least enjoy the CDs...& DVDs.
  6. hell yeah! How To Be Dead's a brilliant song...i :heart:s it! :D
  7. i thought it was a fairly good cover...& not to mention that the song choice suits the campaign (if only because of the song's MV). tho i also think it could've been better w/o the girl...she seems to be trying too hard to sing it her way. :p
  8. aye, Delicate's an amazing song! i'd say it's the one that really got me hooked on Damien Rice where Blower's Daughter was what led me to the album. :D
  9. *lol* you go get him, girl!!! :D i'm not sure why or how it even helps me with my studies/programming. but it just does somehow. i can't listen to Kasabian songs...those make me feel like dancing (well, hopping, really) around the room more than concentrating on studies. & what's this thread doing all the way in the 3rd page? :P here's a funny (imo) video with a kinda-sunburnt-looking Gary & looking-stoned-as-always Nathan are on one of those "hotseat" type of short Q&As ..............at some point in the session, the guys let slip their sleepwear preferences. :wink3: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8vj57-tsCw]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8vj57-tsCw[/ame]
  10. he somehow looks REALLY young in this super closeup shot! :stunned:
  11. i'd suggest investing in some good earphones/headphones in the name of keeping your Damien Rice album... :P
  12. oh, yeah! that was freaky! tho it's kinda been done before with the alien lifeform from Silence in the Library... River Song? she doesn't *really* know everything like The Doctor. she just specifically knows stuff that happens to/with The Doctor since, for some reason, he seems to keep coming to her aid in the wrong time sequence. so she knows the future of the "version" of The Doctor who comes to her aid each time, she has "spoilers" info on his adventures. but then she seems to know enough about him to not tell him what she knows. tho this whole muddling up of timelines between The Doctor & River Song's seems to be something like in the book (& movie) 'The Time Traveller's Wife'....makes things a bit confusing to keep track of tho, imo. hopefully the writers are keeping tabs. :dozey:
  13. awww....Mini Chris!!! *lol* :wacky: lucky mum & kids!!!
  14. oh...are the Meighans of Irish descent then? what with what looks like the Ireland flag draped on their shoulders there...
  15. maybe he'll pick you up on his way back from the US then... :wink3: yeah...somehow, of all the songs i have in my music library, their songs help me the best when i'm doing my CompSci programming assignments. whenever i'm stuck with my programming, i end up finding/thinking up the solution to the problem when a SP song is on... Snow Patrol = programming muse! fancy that! :laugh3: & Gary's like scared of technology most of the time... :P
  16. *lol* that was what i was going to say..."maybe they want you to live in UK/Ireland" :laugh3:
  17. love the show & love the songs they use on it too... :D (they seem to love using songs from Frightened Rabbit...yay!)
  18. did you catch their gig in Bristol where they played in a ship? :) i only managed to see them do a short pre-show acoustic session at Rise before the gig that evening. was left wishing i had gotten a ticket to go to their gig... album wise, maybe it takes a while to warm up to it, but so far i'm still preferring Midnight Organ Fight over Winter of Mixed Drinks overall.
  19. haha...i have to admit, they did have me there for a moment. particularly at the 1st spot, the Cliffs of Moher, cos you can actually see land in the distance (just that it's not Boston or anywhere else in America). then i thought about it & realised "waitaminute, that can't be! that'd mean the Atlantic Ocean's not much of an ocean at all!" :laugh3:
  20. natch. i'm too busy looking at the photos you girls've been posting to post any actual words... :P
  21. spot on! how'd you guess? hahahaha ;) those lines are exceptionally fitting at these 2 locations... :wacky: @ Cliffs of Moher @ Dún Aonghasa / Dun Aengus btw, maybe it's an Irish thing, but the tour guides told me on a really clear day, I could even see Boston from these 2 locations! when i told the tour guide at Dun Aengus (the 2nd pic) i didn't believe him, he insisted it's true...after 4 or 6 pints of Guinness. :dozey: i told him after that many Guinesses, i'd be able to see even Malaysia from there... :P haha...ok. yeah, i definitely have seen it before (tho i can't recall if it was on this forum or on Flickr itself). cos it looks like i've fave-d it already. :D well done!!! :D
  22. yeah, a friend of mine who watches loads of movies was saying the same thing. he feels that this year there aren't really any good "Oscar worthy" movies so far, even during the usual "Oscars season". the biggest thing so far was Avatar, then Hurt Locker (but only after it won a bunch of Oscars). btw, loving the Gene Genie avatar! :D
  23. i think the studios are playing it safe also given the bad global economy...they want movies that are guaranteed successes to make sure they have the money to make more movies at the end of the day. so that means less risks as far as movie genres/stories go.
  24. ah... *sighs in relief* :)
  25. awww...the Reworked stuff's great, ain't it? how've you been yourself? & great pix there...along with some interesting pix of snakes (heh)!!! is the You Could Be Happy (btw i love that song too!!!) video also from your show? :D just got back from Ireland where i found A Hundred Million Suns makes for great listening while lying/sitting around at some of the fantastic locations around the west coast of Ireland... :wacky: (that's me being all geeky about my music, methinks...)
