  1. Mothman live is frigging awesome!!! :bomb:
  2. heh...suits always comes off making the person look (& very likely feeling) awkward when they aren't used to wearing them. i'd love to be able to find a job where i can wear graphic tees to work every day instead of a full business suit (which was my previous job - & i don't like suiting up at all)! NSFW = Not Safe For Work & yeah...it's me. i've taken to declaring myself a "junkie" of some sort...hehe i think it's even more obvious that he was overly under dressed the more you flip through that issue! just about everyone's suited up (even if some had the weirdest of suits - Matt Bellamy) or in smart casualwear. & then there's Gary... :laugh3:
  3. just stumbled on some of the band's songs & quite like the 2 i've heard so far (St Augustine, No One's Gonna Love You)...any other song suggestions? :)
  4. check out: Club Foot, LSF, Fast Fuse, Where Did All The Love Go, Empire, Reason Is Treason, Julie & The Mothman, Stuntman, Processed Beats (in no particular order) :)
  5. i agree!!! i think that belt's all that's keeping them from falling clean off!!! :stunned: & i admit, i've seen those pix a few times before elsewhere. but i always end up thinking the same thing (VERY low trousers)... *goes off to get a mop to wipe up all the drool on the floor* :escaping: :P btw, those pix should be certified NSFW (not that i'm at work right now)... +100!!! skinny "giant flagpole wearing t-shirt' guys are cuter than "muscle-monsters" anytime!!! :D haha...i love 'How I Met Your Mother'!!! tho i like Ted's character a bit more in terms of personality... but i think Gary's like the opposite of Barney since he hates "suiting up"! i just saw the Girls vs Suits episode & Barney was like druggie who needs his fix bad when he forced himself to wear t-shirt & jeans to score with the hot bartender. i can SO imagine Gary being the same way...when forced to wear a suit. :laugh3: remember how he showed up for the Q Awards? Gary, dear, i hate having to dress up all prim & proper as much as you do (t-shirts & jeans FTW!!!)...but that isn't quite what you'd wear to an award show/dinner...even if you don't have to go onstage at all. :P can't find the photo of him sitting at the table...that one's more hilarious. especially with the caption the magazine put for it. the jacket's making him look a little bit more presentable here.
  6. niiice....looks like they've got quite a few new songs up their sleeves! :)
  7. ah, ok...thought we might have to pre-send it to someone for prior approval...
  8. when do you need the articles by? or rather, what's the procedure for submissions? (sorry for all the silly/n00b-ish questions, btw) btw, just a totally random thought, but October'd also be a suitable month for a U2 week eh? ;) coolness! :) i'm a former university Journalism student...but i gave that up a long time ago for a different specialisation stream. didn't think i'd make a good journalist - too introverted to bombard ppl with questions.
  9. i'm up for it...tho i'm not quite sure what i'm meant to contribute beyond an album review. never taken part in any of these band weeks before... & i'd like dibs on The Joshua Tree, if that's fine or still available. it's the U2 album that pretty got me hooked on U2, though I only got round to owning the actual physical album recently (the re-released/remastered one). :shame:
  10. haha...& here's me, not listening to my copy that i've had since Saturday! shame on me! :shame: hmmm...i shall try & put my *ahem* academic education to use & see what i can do for you for that track then. ;) hope your competition copy didn't really get lost in the post! :stunned: (tho if it somehow has, whoever's got it better well be appreciating the songs on the album! :P) Firefly & WMNSOA aside, my fave is The Oubliette (can't even spell it w/o looking at the album!) & For Now. somehow taken a liking to the mellower tunes. :) may change as i listen to it more...
  11. eh...there's an iTunes only bonus track? i shall need to check that out, then. tho i personally prefer a physical CD over digital tracks, especially with all the DRM nonsense & PC/devices limit. btw, great to hear that you're enjoying the album Carol. shall get round to popping mine in for a listen shortly (was busy getting some project work done earlier in the day). btw how many copies of the album do you now have anyway by now? heh ;)
  12. & how many times have you seen it so far then?
  13. thanks loads for the link!!! now i don't have to risk maxing out my bandwidth replaying the YouTube vids...heh & yes....the memories.......... :wacky:
  14. you actually stuck it through with Lost? i quite literally lost interest in Lost by the end of the 1st season...same happened with Prison Break. only Heroes didn't disappoint (shame the brilliance progressively fell apart with each new season).
  15. *lol* yes, when you are a fan of both SP & CP, you need to clarify which Jonny boy...so's we don't confuse ourselves. ;) yeah, me too! tho, tbh, Guinness is already fairly popular/famous where i come from already. hasn't done much for my height tho... :P but i've become more partial towards a cider over a Guinness since coming to the UK anyway... :shame: then it's even weirder...cos when i click on it, i see this message: "This video contains content from Channel 4, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds." :inquisitive:
  16. i don't think there's a "Chandler" in their group anyway...& now that i think about it, Barney's a more smug/suave player type compared to Joey, who was mostly bungling his way around. not to mention that Barney'd probably be smarter than Joey in most situations...
  17. well, the other thing is that there were more ppl in the circle of friends in 'Friends'. tho i like the small close knit group for 'How I Met Your Mother' anyway. & there were bits in the series that i could actually relate to, like when Barney & Marshall disappeared for "conference calls" which were really beer drinking, skivving off work sessions... (not that my colleagues & i drank during working hours, but it's the concept employed... :P) i love how nobody seems to know what the hell it is that Barney does & he never reveals it either...even Marshall doesn't know & he's working in the same bank! :laugh3:
  18. not really...Cobb intentionally planted the idea in Mal's mind. but he didn't forsee that the idea would still be there even when they were back in reality already, which unfortunately led to her suicide.
  19. awww...i'm sure you're young at heart still! ;) i'd like to think i'm not TOO grown up & fuddy duddy-ish when i hit 30 anyway... *lol* + i can take comfort in the fact that the SP guys are overall older than me...aside from Nathan, but particularly Jonny & Tom. haha :P oh well...at least you still have a few more years to go. unlike me. btw, are you a Libra too? heh (my birthday's in Oct...2 days after the Tired Pony NY gig, in fact!) errrrmmmm....Guinness makes them Irishmen tall? haha (yeah, lame joke...i know) *lol* yeah! his repeated "fuck off..." reaction is priceless!!! can't seem to view the video tho...which is frigging bollocks since it's a Channel 4 link but "unavailable in my country"...WTF!!! I'M IN THE BLOODY FRIGGING UK, CHANNEL 4!!! :inquisitive: the music team for 'Grey's Anatomy' has great taste in music, imo. i think it's the same team for 'The O.C.', 'One Tree Hill' & 'Chuck' too....tho i'm not 100% sure about this. the common thing is that all these series are known for featuring lesser known british or indie bands in general. :)
  20. ellos...welcome to the country-tinged Tired Pony world. :) & i don't fault you for being put off initially about Tired Pony. i was too...especially with the whole "country-tinged", "country music influence" catchphrases being used to describe the album/band concept. cos i'm not a big fan of country music at all, 'cept maybe a couple of the more modern country artists/bands. was even thinking that i might actually like Gary's Listen...Tanks! project more than Tired Pony. BUT...i actually love the Tired Pony album (some might say i may have been a bit obsessed with it lately, based on my FB posts... *lol* ), so i guess i should just trust Gary's judgement & taste in music, movies from now onwards & just go with whatever his crative mind thinks up...hahaha
  21. yeah, it does. i was just telling a friend of mine that 'How I Met Your Mother' is like the 'Friends' of our generation cos we're in the same age group as the characters in this series & it's set in "our time (now)"...tho having said that, it may not be as funny watching it a few decades later. cos that's how i feel watching 'Friends' re-runs now...the series feels dated while 'How I Met Your Mother' feel's more in-tune with the "modern times" ah...my bad, then. i think that's what got me thinking that they're married.
  22. awww...i thought he has/did before...
  23. depending on what the Nolan brothers are up to as a trilogy closer, The Riddler might just be a suitable foe, imo...since they've used 'The Long Halloween' as on of the key story inspiration for the other 2 movies so far. but yeah, expectations will be really high for the last Batman movie...especially with both 'The Dark Knight' & 'Inception' turning out to be masterpieces.
  24. well, they'd *have* to get together again at some point...cos older Ted refers to Robin & Barney as a married couple at times when he's telling his kids about them.
  25. surely they can pull off AT LEAST 'Viva La Vida' & 'Fix You'... i love the show, but i have to admit that not all their covers are good. i didn't like the covers of Beyonce's 'Halo' & Bon Jovi's 'It's My Life' for example...cos they were all hyper doing those songs. & i didn't really like Rachel's take on The All-American Rejects' 'Gives You Hell' either, but then i do know some ppl who love it more than the original. so it's subjective...as music always is.
