  1. eh? what? closing? i go to Ireland for a week & something big's been going on in here? :stunned:
  2. haha...i was thinking Serge is probably all "lookit me in my shiny new rockstar coat, man!" *looks into the horizon* :laugh3: your interpretation of Tom's expression is about right, tho. hahahaha
  3. i noticed that there's a new badge/sticker on the door of the Tardis............. looked like the St John's Ambulance logo, actually.
  4. yeah, i have a copy of the China edition of Parachutes. Spies was replaced with Careful Where You Stand. :dozey: as for that article.......Hong Kong & South Korea aren't part of Southeast Asia in the first place. tsk. :dozey: (just felt like being geographically picky today) :dozey:
  5. *rotfl* he's an eccentric one, that Serge! :laugh3:
  6. awww...London does tend to have that effect on people... *sigh* :wacky:
  7. hmmm...i'd say that with the exception of Sugababes & Coldplay & Robbie Williams, the pattern is that the majority are bands/artists who have a huge music back catalogue & have been popular for decades (by now). & generally of the mainstream pop variety. interesting.
  8. wooo...Internet gone all wonky. triple post!
  9. oops...double post.
  10. i'm looking forward to seeing Alex Kingston return as River Song again (based on the "Coming Soon" sneak peak). :D & it looks like this particular doctor doesn't have a problem firing a gun...perhaps a sign of a darker tone for the series in general? i'm thinking they may be going for a balance between the darker 9th doctor & the hyper/mad 10th doctor. Matt Smith was also quite alright. i just still haven't quite warmed up to him as the doctor tho. oh, well...it did take me a while to get hooked on Tennant initially.
  11. i'm not much of a fan of The Who myself too, tho i do have some of their more famous songs in my music library (i blame CSI & House for this  ). but i dunno...Liam's obviously more well known than Tom, so maybe them Who fans are just kicking up a fuss cos it's a lesser known/younger/"new" guy onstage. :dozey: i did try looking up more details about the song & it looks like it's part of one big "rock opera" thing. from what i can tell, Tom is playing a character called Ace Face who ends up becoming a bell boy. & to think i thought Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was a long song... :P
  12. haha...what is with that bellboy outfit??? & SO Tom...prancing around the stage. tho now that i've re-watched the earlier vid, it kinda looks like he went offstage even before the song ended. but the crowd seems rather...ermmm...subdued from that closer up vid. meh. think i'm liking this RAH version of Had Enough more than the original... :) oh...& this was one of the related vids that showed up after the vid finished playing (pretty good quality, tho not as up close as squareone13's post): [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhZoZlKQuXU]The Who - Had Enough ft. Tom Meighan and Eddie Vedder 2010[/ame]
  13. ah, memories...good ones too. :D btw, judging from your angle, you were near the "scary guy" who got hugged?
  14. unfortunately, no...i didn't go for the gig itself. :\ i would love to go for a gig there one day tho...it's really impressive, as you've said. especially after learning more about it from the tour.
  15. ^ thanks loads for that!!! :D i was (inefficiently) looking for a video of it... :shame: was actually at the RAH & took a tour of the place on that very day! saw the roadies doing the sound check. then later i saw on my Twitter that Tom & Eddie Vedder were going onstage with The Who! epic! :wacky:
  16. you need a Big Mac? oh, well...watch this, if it helps at all...i found it really hilarious, anyway... [ame= ] [/ame]
  17. well, they did make his character out to be some kinda intergalactic Casanova...kinda like one Capt. James T. Kirk.
  18. & it's probably a good thing they changed/updated their image too! i still remember those shots of them in Smash Hits wearing them fishnets and leather jackets...totally camp, even by 90s fashion standards! :dozey: no worries...& you're right, it's still the 90s. the Walkman did have quite a long staying power... :) i still have mine & was still using a Discman in the 2000s...until i finally caved in & got myself an iPod. now i can't imagine lugging around a Discman/Walkman along with my selection of CDs/cassettes to listen to when i'm out & about! my dad had a huge cassette tape collection that was kept in a drawer under my bed (due to lack of space) so i'd occasionally listen to some. he was more of a Beatles fan too, alongside a lot of what is now "classic rock" stuff...tho there was a fair amount of Cat Stevens & Bob Marley stuff too. :inquisitive: & the radio was practically always on in my house, my dad's office or at my cousins' homes, usually tuned to a rock station. so somehow along the way i guess i discovered U2, Def Leppard, etc.
  19. haha....bhangra's pretty lively music (& frigging loud when performed live)! poor you! i personally don't mind if it's played like during a themed event or it's a celebration in an Indian community area, but bhangra all the time while i eat would be pretty annoying...& bloody cheesy. hell yeah! i'd categorise those phases as the "guilty pleasures" part of our music collection(s)...haha :P i never really got into the Spice Girls, but i did have my fair share of boyband stuff. particularly Boyzone & NKOTB + some Backstreet Boys, NSync, Take That...the usual suspects growing up in the 90s. tho i guess i should also be thankful that my friends were also very into Nirvana (methinks Nevermind shaped my generation/class! haha), Guns & Roses, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith (note the American dominance :dozey: )...talk about musical extremes! looking back, it's like we were listening to everything from pop to grunge in the 90s!
  20. heh...i hope i have even half the luck that coldplay_is_louve's been having when i'm in Dublin next week! hehe...cool! just be careful if they've been drinking a lot. but otherwise friendly rivalry between fans is always fun. yeah, Once was a good movie. & i love that song, Falling Slowly. did Damien just serenade you or did you get any guitar playing tips from him too? ;)
  21. yeah, i think he actually went to "tour" around SEA last year. cos my friend was also telling me about him (my friend's a fan). i know him more cos of the movie Stardust, i.e. he's the one who wrote the book the movie was based on, & cos he's written a book with Terry Pratchett (one of my fave authors).
  22. yeah, i've watched it...& i somehow get the feeling it's already starting to run out of steam midway. but i figure i'll just stick it out & see how the series plays out til the end. & Mark, i think they went all comical with the Donna arc since Catherine Tate's strength is comedy. guess the writers thought it'd be great to have some humour after all the moping around he was doing after he "lost" Rose & then the wrong signals with Martha (now that was one companion i didn't really like cos she was always all fawny over the doctor).
  23. good gawd! i so want to give Matt Smith a chance first, but after watching that i really want DT back already! or even Chris Ecclestone! & shouldn't he have figured out that they're vampires much much sooner? took him a while... :inquisitive:
  24. this is gonna be a rather OT post, but......... awww...lucky you! i didn't see any of the guys when i went to the Bakery last year, but it was gig day anyway. i was in Camden Town this weekend at a pub near Monkeychews, but no luck either...not that i was looking for Coldplay actually. btw, read your blog...Red Devils fan too eh? :D but i'd be a bit careful about the Man U jersey. i once wore mine when there was a Crystal Palace match (not vs Man U) on that i didn't know about...the police at the tube stations all gave me a "are you bloody mental?" look & the Crystal Palace fans were staring daggers at me. football's serious stuff on match days...even my English classmates agreed on that. especially given Man U's history with some teams... & my friend told me to go to Killiney - if i've seen Once (i'm guessing you probably have also... ;)). admittedly, i'd thought it was shot in Dublin all this while. :embarrassed:
