hello thread reader. DON'T LEAVE! Glass Vaults are a band from Wellington, New Zealand. They are pretty much the best new band of 2010. Last weekend they played at a cool little festival (which I also played at). It was pouring down with rain, it was freezing, it was midnightish and they played this song Don't Be Shy. It was one of the most amazing moments of my life! That sounds really stupid but it was. Luckily, someone filmed it! (I was right next to the guy who did. omg front row!!!!) He sounds like the guy from The Mountain Goats... my dad really likes The Decemberists, but he's pretty disappointed with the new song. I wouldn't know.

Toro Y Moi, Captain Ahab, Four Tet, Deerhunter, Yeasayer, Ariel Pink, Beach House, Blonde Redhead, Ladyhawke and Sufjan Stevens. All next year. woooowww. (I wish they were in seperate concerts though...)

it was pretty over hyped for a not very special rock album, in my opinion... Funeral and Neon Bible are extremely interesting. They both have very special sounds but The Suburbs, to me was just a normal rock album. my opinion please don't kill me :P

They're a fun little indie band. Not supposed to be amazing or anything (although the song Idiot on their new album is pretty amazing...) I really like them.

What albums did you prefer, Alexa?

I still think a part of the reason why pitchfork/everyone likes Ariel Pink is because they used to be extremely lo fi (some songs pretty much unlistenable) and then they makes this extremely professional sounding album. Anyway, I quite like them. (and I'm seeing them next year)
