I apologise for posting in this thread, seeing as I am so unworthy of even talking to Her Coolness. But I jsut had to say that I am constantly overwhelmed by the sheer levels of coolness she emits.

It's not the same for all sports at all though, with baseball the stats and the results mean way more than what actually happens to get them. Yes it is personal preference, but when did I deny that? Ok lets use "Social acceptance" as a guide (whatever that is). "Weird" is no excuse to say "You should not wear this it is socially unacceptable". Bollocks, a Burkha is in no way offensive to you or to anyone, covering your skin is not offensive, nobody could even perceive it that way. Sure there are long lying connotations about the religion, but that is irrelevant when just dealing with clothing. Nakedness however is offensive to a lot of people and you know that. The fact that you deem them as "unnecessary" just proves how intolerant and ignorant you are. I don't personally like them, but that is no grounds to claim that people should not wear them because they are "unnecessary" and it is certainly no grounds to ban them. You avoiding issue by saying "they do it in Saudi Arabia" does not make up for the fact that it's wrong, just because someone else does something, that doesn't mean it's ok for someone else to do it. Plus that's a very ignorant thing to say as the attitudes towards naked skin in the middle east were not just brought about because some cunt of a leader decided he didn't like skin being shown.

Baseball isn't a sport though really is it? You could just not watch a game and knowing the score would be as fulfilling as having watched the full thing

Best bit about Kill Bill is the build up to the fight with O-Ren Ishii and the use of music, it's one of my favourite scenes I've ever seen. 2 is better overall though. --- This thread is a hit back down to reality about the stupidity of the average movie viewer

I think it's very culturally acceptable for people to do it here since we don't really give a shit what people wear, are you saying you have an issue with people holding up to their religious beliefs Mark? Walking around naked is also a completely different thing.

It's funny cos Alex used to never show his face/do interviews or anything press related, he would have hated the idea of having the band on the cover of the album, other than "I Bet..." and "Brianstorm" the band aren't in their videos either. They've changed though, they are going to lose a lot of fans with this new record and gain new ones, I feel like I am evolving with them, I loved the first album at the time, can't listen to it so much now other than the odd track (and I actually despise "Mardy Bum" which seems to be a favourite amongst fans of that album) 2nd album came out I was blown away, change in style (for the better) and it did alienate a few fans. Even now I feel like the 2nd album is becoming more of a distant memory in my music catalogue, I feel for that reason (and the fact that I love what I've heard so far) this album is going to be amazing for me, but it's going to be bad for a lot of people, the people who were slightly put off by FWN will now completely dislike the band etc. I was listening to the Sydney Recordings of Crying Lightening again today, it's so fucking good and a lot of people have already dismissed that track as rubbish. One of the live demos that got me most excited about the album was "Terror Pocket" bitterly disappointed it's not on the album but I am fairly sure it's going to be on one of the singles as a B-Side I'm so fucking excited about this album, but I'm trying not to overhype it cos I don't want to be disappointed, it's very hard. I'm praying for a good, early, high quality leak as it coming out 4 days before Leeds festival means I wont be able to give it a proper listen until AFTER seeing them live again. To be really cheesy and horrible and to quote the band themselves "Bring on the backlash"
