Mylo Xyloto will be streamed on iTunes in a one-track-per-day mode
For those in the U.S. (maybe only the west coast), I'd check the Mylo album page tonight (around 9 or 10 P.M.) to see if the Monday stream is up. I was actually able to download Paradise from iTunes at around that time on the day before it was supposed to be officially released.

I'd rather have
Thank you. Everyone's losing their shit over the fact that part of ETIAW is sampled and ZOMG Coldplay's not original anymore. Listen to Talk, listen to Life in Technicolor.

freakingtallkid replied to Technicolor Sparks's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)The unidentified one from the other video sounded good too. It'll be a long summer.

The Positive ETIAW Thread
freakingtallkid replied to Technicolor Sparks's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)That video's pretty distorted, but if Hurts Like Heaven sounds anything like the way my mind filled in the blanks, as it were, it'll be awesome.

The Positive ETIAW Thread
freakingtallkid replied to Technicolor Sparks's topic in Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Single, EP & video)Since when is it necessary to come up an advanced critique of a song's chord progressions or vocals in order to like it? That's like saying you don't really like chocolate unless you've studied its molecular structure. Seriously, let the people who like ETIAW like it in peace.

Welcome to Coldplay Boot Camp
Assignment One 1) Violet Hill 2) Viva la Vida 3) Talk 4) Lovers in Japan / Reign of Love 5) In My Place Assignment Two I'm not included in "some guys." Assignment Three Violet Hill Assignment Four Violet Hill (with A Spell a Rebel Yell on the B-side) Assignment Five 1) Lost+. Jay-Z kills everything. 2) Green Eyes. Play The Goldrush live instead. 3) The Lovers in Japan demo. It's so bad compared to the actual version. 4) The Hardest Part. Album version only though. Solo piano is amazing. 5) The Escapist. It's kinda pointless. DAAHF is fine without it. Assignment Six 1) The fact that no one other than Chris talks at their concerts, except when Will sings DWNC. 2) The fact that the concert remix of God Put a Smile / Talk hasn't been released as a studio track. 3) The fact that they're making us wait until September for the Strawberry Swing single. Assignment Seven A CD version of the bootleg recording someone made of the concert I went to in July. It's got most of Viva, plus stuff from Parachutes, Rush of Blood, and X&Y. Assignment Eight Will. He's bigger than the other three. Plus playing drums probably strengthens your arms. Assignment Nine I don't drink, since I'm 15. But I could probably outdrink Chris if I had to. Will would be the last man standing. Assignment Ten I say no to all of them, since they're all married with children. And I'm more interested in women, anyway.

Apparently the audio from this concert was recorded and posted on dimeadozen.org. Lore has a membership there, and he has very kindly agreed to download the show and reupload it for me; if any of you guys who were there want it, PM me and I'll PM you back once I get it.

What Coldplay songs did you hate at first, but later came to love?
I liked Yes, but not Chinese Sleep Chant. I liked Lovers in Japan, but not Reign of Love. How weird is that? Especially since they're both awesome. I also didn't like the second half of 42. Or Death and All His Friends.

42-Interesting
That's from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, in case you didn't already know.

They started between 9 and 9:30, if I recall correctly... Oh man, it was freaking awesome. Especially when Chris apologized at the end of 42 for "fucking up a chord at the beginning of the song." Plus I managed to get all of Viva la Vida on video, despite having already taken 100 pictures on a 256 MB memory card.

Viva La Vida... demos thread
I missed out on the download links because my mom was driving me back from a Coldplay concert. How's that for irony. If anyone has it in their heart to give me some new links, please please please PM me. I will never give these songs out to anyone else, ever. Please?

Wouldn't it be awesome if Chris said, "Hey guys, the video for Strawberry Swing is coming out tomorrow, so what we'd like to do is play the video part for you on this giant screen while we play the song live." That would be epic. Or if instead of the Viva la Vida remix that they normally play after the acoustic set, they played the Strawberry Swing remix from that one Roadie #42 video. Even if that doesn't happen, it'll still be amazing! Second time seeing them live, and this time they'll actually play Life in Technicolor ii.

CD Giveaway from within the 2009/10 shows - post your experiences
How's the CD distribution going? I remember reading the review of the first show in Florida where they handed out copies of LeftRightLeftRightLeft, and people were saying that it was really disorganized and difficult to obtain the album. Has the experience improved at all? I'd like to know what to expect when I see them tomorrow...

"Strawberry Swing" video - RELEASED! (20th July 2009)
That's not too bad. I'd be willing to bet it's one of the B-sides to the single. Strawberry Swing (Thin White Duke Remix)

No, but thanks. I'm talking about whatever video this is:

Sorry to interrupt all the joyous dancing, but can anyone provide a link to that Roadie #42 video with the Strawberry Swing remix that people were talking about?

I think the C-stage will be on the lawn somewhere. That's what they did for their Florida shows, and people went crazy.

I'm pumped to be going to this concert. The other one I went to was on the release date of Prospekt's March, but they didn't play any of the new songs, even though Life in Technicolor ii was on the freakin' setlist. Hopefully this time I'll be able to hear it, plus Glass of Water if I get lucky.

Songs Never Played Live
They've never played Yes live, as far as I know. Which sucks, because it is an awesome song.

The COLDPLAY song you cant get enough of?
Violet Hill.

Your Coldplay Dream Setlist
0) A Spell A Rebel Yell (Instrumental Intro) 1) Life in Technicolor ii 2) Violet Hill 3) Lhuna (They could get a video of Kylie singing and then play it during the song or something, I don't know.
