Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
I thought the same. Maybe R#42 is trying to tell us something. :awesome:

"A Message" is beautiful.
That's rather interesting, lol. I like the quote, by the way. :) It reassures me Chris believes in God.

The Eno Effect
I liked Viva, and I still do, but I really miss the emotional days of Coldplay. Nothing is wrong with improvement and new things, but Viva was Coldplay's odd-duck-out.

The overreaction was a bit much.

I've never understood the hatred towards X&Y, either.

Coldplaying's Albums of the Decade: RESULTS
How did it not fit? That rise in the song is what made it more upbeat. Without it, LiT would have been pretty dull.

"A Message" is beautiful.
I've been listening to many versions of Coldplay's song, and yet again, I find myself in awe of how beautiful it is, both lyrically and musically. "You're the target that I'm aiming at, and I'm nothing on my own." Those lyrics are so incredibly powerful to me. Many will disagree and many will persecute, but I am 100% certain this song is towards God. I notice a lot of hate towards this song. Why?

Another new song...???
It sounds like Chris, but I agree with the soundcheck comment(s). It's too echoey to be in a studio. (But a church would work, too.)

Art history thread
What a cool idea for interviews. Should be interesting.

New Song???
If EMI really did delete the videos, then of course it is real. If not - I am undecided. EDIT: Hm. EMI did in fact take take off the video. I guess it is real.

New Song???
Well, it does sound similar. Pretty good song, though.

I finally discovered why I respect Coldplay.
Is this about me? If so ... I don't listen to mainstream music. Not a fan.

I finally discovered why I respect Coldplay.
Ha, yeah. I couldn't do that. Not long. "Finally" was the wrong word, I guess. It was more like a revelation. I just listened to their music and enjoyed it - then it hit me why I enjoyed it so much.

I finally discovered why I respect Coldplay.
Some indie, some alternative and worship music. Don't get me wrong, I'm not dissing the pop music industry as a whole, I'm just saying it isn't my style. But of course there is brilliant music in every genre.

I also see a poster of solar system to the left of Brian's head.

I finally discovered why I respect Coldplay.
As a musician, I've dealt with the many stages of discovering my "personal style". I've gone through loud to rock, and from rock to horrible ryhthm. Yet, as Coldplay was introduced to me, I realized how great of musicians they are. They don't try to be like what's popular, they rather they be themselves. Obviously, they succeed with that. The same applies with me. I am not a fan of current music. Why? Because it all either sounds the same, or the voice of the singer is so fake, the song becomes unbearable. (Ke$ha - I'm looking at you.) I've settled into an acoustic style of playing, because it fits my lifestyle; it "feels" me. So, the reason I respect Coldplay the way I do is due to their individualism and their creativeness. They play to please whoever cares to listen to them, and by doing so, leaves a great mark in the music industry.

Is Viva la Vida too overplayed?
Good remix. I liked it. Viva La Vida is played way too much. Even though that was the song that got me into Coldplay, I began to get tired of it by January 2009. It's a good song, but the general music-listeners will only hear VLV, yet ignore their greater songs.

Great blog! LP5 sounds like it will be one of their best. Also, who thinks R#42 Blog #125 could be the official announcement of LP5/songs from LP5? :awesome:
