  1. Grandpas look like my brother. Coldplay looks like my SONS. :laugh3:
  2. I'm already in my 50's, and they mean the world to me.
  3. I've wanted a tattoo of the Mylo Xyloto symbols since the album was first released. I finallly went for it today. The first seven were placed on my right upper biceps, and the remaining seven on my left upper biceps. I showed my artist the swirl of grafitti art colors on the album and this is what he came up with for me: Everything should be healed up beautifully just in time for the Club Nokia concert! The work was done by Tyler at Trigger Happy Tattoo in La Habra, California. He's a Coldplay-fan-friendly tattoo artist and has done all three of my Coldplay-related tattoos, plus he remembers tattooing "I will try to fix you" - without knowing the source - on someone else once. ;) I am very pleased.
  4. Sitting practically next to you, Erick - Seat location: section UPBAL1, row K, seat 109. Looking forward to meeting you! :D
  5. I finally heard from my Secret Santa! Thank you, Tomas, for the lovely postcard all the way from the Czech Republic! I'm going to try to translate the text on the postcard to see what the printed greeting means! Thank you again. Sadly, though, it doesn't look as if my person received their card yet. I promise you, I sent it over two weeks ago. I'm sorry you won't get it for Christmas but I hope you still enjoy it when you do. Robin
  6. You did a great job! I am very impressed (and inspired!).
  7. Seeing Coldplay at the Hollywood Bowl will be incredible, but I sure wish the dates weren't mid-week. :( Makes it hard for us 9-to-5 working stiffs to get there to enjoy the show!
  8. Thanks for the reminiscence. "Viva la Vida" changed my life (no lie) so I find the end of this era especially poignant.
  9. Holy cow! I just won two tickets too! And I tried exactly ONCE today (since I just got back from a weekend road trip). There's a ton of good karma going around here, isn't there?!
  10. And I'm Ro as in Ro-Anshi, and I have tickets (YAY!) and I would love to meet after the show since I have to work that day and can't predict when I can get to UCLA. I absolutely totally would love to meet fellow Coldplayers!
  11. Tracey, get off those tip-toes and stop looking at the AARP card looming on the horizon; you'll get there soon enough. ;) (Although I admit it gives me pause to think I'm old enough to be Coldplay's mommy, sigh.) And I meant "mature" in physical years, not necessarily mental. I've been involved in some sort of fan activities since I was 16 and somehow, I still haven't stopped. Coldplay's my latest semi-obsession, but I feel like this is the one that keeps me moving forward so it's all good and no bad.
  12. Know what? We should just call ourselves "mature" fans and leave it at that. I hope we manage to meet at the concert - I know you're a "Will Girl" too and I would love the chance to meet a fellow mature Coldplaying Will-fan. :) (Is that a small subset or what?)
  13. Wow, I feel impossibly lucky. I wasn't online Wednesday or Thursday, until after 10 PM Thursday night, so I missed all the pre-sales. I dared to sign on to TicketMaster from work at 10 AM on Friday, and after about 10 minutes of refreshing the site I ended up with a single seat (all I needed) in Box Section AA, Row 7, Seat 11. From the venue map, that location looks pretty good. :) In any case, it's much better than my seat at the only other Coldplay show I've been to, almost exactly two years ago at Home Depot Center in Carson, CA. Needless to say, I'm beyond excited at this opportunity. I'm way outside Coldplay's target demographic - I just turned 55 - but I feel as excited as a teenager to be seeing "my" band again! I hope to meet some Coldplayers at the concert. Ro
  14. I don't see that these are taken yet, so... I'd like to claim the Viva la Vida bell (which my friends and I refer to as the "Jerusalem Bell"), and the 7/18/2009 concert at Home Depot Center in Carson, California (my first and only Coldplay concert!).
  15. I finally got my Coldplay tattoo today. Actually, I consider it not so much a "Coldplay tattoo" as a symbol of how I made it through 2009 (it was a terrible year, beginning with the death of my mom), and the part Coldplay and their music played in helping me through it. I also have another butterfly, in pink, on the inside of my left wrist. I'm far outside the target demographic (not only for being a Coldplay fan, but for getting inked - I'm in my mid-50s!) but Coldplay and their music are ageless and timeless. Viva la vida indeed!
  16. This sounds delightful - please sign me up! :) PM with my details will arrive in a minute. Thanks for organizing this!
  17. Ro-Anshi replied to tartpops's topic in Coldplay
Make sure you post a picture of it once you get it! I would love to see it. I'm planning on getting the butterfly tattoo as well, and can't quite decide where. I would love it on my wrist, BUT I'm a woman of a certain age, and working in the corporate world, and I must be able to hide it easily. And even if you someday tire of Coldplay, I don't think you'll ever tire of the tattoo you got because of them, since it will remind you of your positive state of mind at the time you first made it a permanent part of yourself. That's always been my philosophy when I get inked. (Because being of a certain age and having to hide my tattoos hasn't stopped me six times previously....)
  18. ...the hell....?
  19. Hmm... Maybe it's my perspective as a crazy old fangirl far outside Coldplay's target demographic, but I find the "Those who are dead...." line very comforting. (Losing my mom earlier this year has a lot to do with it.) As others in this thread have mentioned, it's about the memories living on even past death. Now excuse me while I go make some toast. :p
  20. I did the exact same thing!!! :D Except my butterfly is pink and my frame is square. ;) My next step is to get a tattoo of the butterfly....
  21. This is my first post.... ...but that's okay because tonight will be my first Coldplay concert! :D I'm way outside the target demographic*, but I don't care - I'm planning to have the time of my life! So be nice and say hi to the chubby older lady who's probably going to be crying with joy during Viva La Vida! Ro *As in, the last concert I went to was Barry Manilow, and that was in the recent past.
