  1. Hey all. Here's a question (another i know). I'm gonna get an epiphone dot es335 in natural, but I want the casino bridge (as opposed to the tune o-matic). Firstly because i think it looks better and second i don't really like the tune o-matic. So, how would I go about replacing it? Or would i just buy a casino bridge and send it to my local guitar repair store?
  2. very good very good, I'm getting a new amp anyway, it's a Vypr 15 amp it's epic. My friend has the 30 watt equivalent, but I don't need that monstrous tone for my stuff, I'll definitely post the status of the sound when I get my new amp!
  3. in the solo for the song something by the beatles, what sort of scale does he use for the solo? (scale as in guitar scale)
  4. Hey all I was listening to something and i wondered...what's the scale he uses for the solo?
  5. right yeah, I'm gonna see that, and also, do you know what sort of strings jonny uses? cause the ones I'm using now contribute to that 'being played too hard' sound y'know?
  6. describe it to me, I haven't paid enough attention, I was gonna go and get my crappy elec set up, and just so i know what to sorta ask for y'know?
  7. hahah, very well explained, I have to say, radiohead are my second favourite band, and i think their music is astounding and close to genius, but personally, I think they're not as good as the beatles, in terms of success and sheer musicianship
  8. Hey All. Here's a challenge for you. 1. Give me 1 band that is better than The Beatles (apart from Coldplay) with 3 good reasons 2. Tell me 5 bad songs they have done. My reason? Well, on Facebook i'm talking to this girl who 1. hates the fab 4 and thinks they suck (she listens to that justin beiber lady gaga stuff), 2. doesn't know who john lennon was/is. This disgraced me, so tell me forum....who killed the cat?
  9. yeah, I'm getting a Vypr 15 amp very soon anyways, and I was thinking about buying pickups, but I could not possibly install them myself! Could I get my guitar store to do it? And I do try to mess around with settings, but It always turns out not the way I want it, but the problem is, I don't know what I want!!
  10. Hey all. I was playing my electric guitar and I realised, I really don't like the tone! It's a cheap Jim Deacon Les Paul guitar that my dad got for me 3 years ago for about £140. It's been through being dropped countless times, being painted on with acrylic paint, the pickup holders almost breaking off and one of the tone knobs coming off. I basically want to improve it's sound. I was wondering what I could do? What sort of pickup do i get? My main problems are: The distortion is just fuzz In the clean tone, whenever I play a lower string (6th and 5th) it sounds like I'm slapping them The 5th string always buzzes no matter how I hold it. That's really it. So, if someone could help me out in how i can change it, or if I should just get it set up that would be appreciated thanks! :)
  11. Yeah ive seen those around, I'm only into recording on my computer for now....gees this is gonna be harder than I thought!!!!
  12. yeah i know bout stereo i just used mono as an example, but i just want to know how to separate the two tracks while recording (eg record in two track spaces instead of both in the one). I don't have to use my eq, but i like it, if there's another way...TEHL MEHH!!!!
  13. Hey all. I was on garageband and i eventually figured out how to record two (or more) tracks at once). Here's a little bit of it just to show you how i would do it... I select on the input source on a track mono (1/2) and i do the same with the other (only using the other available mono source). And i record enable both tracks. That's all very well....BUT.... I have my equaliser, one input is my keyboard with programmed drums, and the other is my mic with my guitar. I have them plugged into my eq and i have my eq plugged into my mac via the eq's headphone jack and my mac's mic jack. Obviously when i record, it has the input from the eq coming in as one track... My question is, how can i separate my guitar and keyboard if they're both plugged into the eq? Because i want to be able to work with different tracks without the time eating job of overdubs...
