Who Is The Oracle???
Who's the Oracle My newest theory about the identity of the Oracle is that it could be Vicki Taylor, Coldplay's Personal Assistant or Debs Wild. It might be Vicki Taylor because she would easily be able to get the answers from the boys if she does not know the answer right a way. The same applies to Debs Wild. It could also be Phil Harvey known as the secret fifth member. There is some mystery in connection with the name "the Oracle" and "secret member". For some time I thought that it could be one of the Coldplay guys (one of them answering questions on Mondays, another on Tuesdays, etc.). As to the question about the Anchorman's identity my guess is Dave Holmes (the band's manager) or Phil Harvey (the former manager and the secret fifth member). :)

One year with Coldplay...
I'm a little past my 1 Year Anniversary with Coldplay too! :) I was listening to the UK charts on 22 June, 2008, and "Viva La Vida" debuted at no. 1.:kiss:I immediately fell in love with that song:kiss::wink3:- it made me feel like flying, and I still have not landed / I have this feeling whenever I hear it.:)I immediately knew that to me it was a year-end no. 1 song and an evergreen like U2's One and Robbie William's Angels.:) I began listening a lot to MTV because MTV played Viva La Vida every single hour. I went late to bed so that I would be able to hear Viva la Vida a few times more. :)On 22 June 2008 after having heard Viva la Vida for the first time I ran to my computer to read about Coldplay and especially about singer Chris Martin. I read about his MTF campaign - how he had "Make Trade Fair.com" written on his hand and MTF emblazoned on his piano - and I was wildly impressed. :) I saw him like a sort of Bono no. 2. :)From the early summer of 2005 and up to 22 June 2008 I was obsessed with Bono and his political issues (his involvement with Make Poverty History and the DATA and ONE projects). Bono as a political factor made me interested in U2 and U2's music. Now I am obsessed with Chris Martin and Coldplay :) without having forgotten about Bono and U2! - Before 22 June 2008 I had heard Clocks, Speed of Sound and In My Place. I loved these songs, but when these songs were no longer played on the radio, I forgot about them. On 22 June, 2008 I tried to recall Coldplay songs (melodies and/or titles), but in vain (I vaguely remembered the title Clocks, but that was all! After 22 June, 2008 these songs came back into my life and are now on my mental "playlist".:laugh3:

Your favorate of my favorate artists
Your favourite of my favourite artists I had a problem voting because I would like to vote for both the BEATLES and U2. But having to choose I voted for the BEATLES for having had such a great influence on music. I grew up listening a lot to Abba & the Beatles, and since early summer of 2005 I have listened a lot to U2 after having started admiring Bono for his political skills and soon afterwards also for his musical ones. He is simply amazing full of action and energy as well as very successful in getting things done and drawing attention to political issues. Since 22 June 2008 I also listen to Coldplay having fallen in love with the tune "Viva la Vida". I started admiring Chris Martin when reading about him on 22 June 2008. I read that he had an equal sign and MakeTradeFair.com written on his hand (I also saw pictures of it) and had MTF emblazoned on the side of the piano. I was truly totally impressed. And like Bono he is full of energy and wishing to do good. :) My answer is BEATLES (musical influence) and U2 (music / political issues). Had Coldplay been there, that name should be added to my answer. :)

The official Coldplaying.com favourate Coldplay album! Vote Now
Coldplaying.com favourite Coldplay album! My Coldplaying.com favourite Coldplay album is A Rush of Blood to the Head. I like all the songs on A Rush of Blood to the Head and have 4 of them on my list of favourite Coldplay songs (all of them evergreens): My favourite Coldplay songs: 1. Viva la Vida (from Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends) - all time no. 1 2. In my Place (from A Rush of Blood to the Head) / Fix you (from X&Y) 4. Clocks (from ARoBttH) - (very close to share the no. 2 position) 5. Speed of Sound (from X&Y) 6. The Scientist / Politik (both from ARoBttH) 7. Yellow (Parachutes) / Lost (VLVoDAAHF) Because all the songs on A Rush of Blood to the Head are beautiful and because I have 4 of them on my list of top Coldplay songs I voted for A Rush of Blood to the Head as my favourite album. It was hard to choose because I also love all the songs on Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends with VIVA La VIDA as my all time number one song together with U2's "One" and Robbie Williams "Angels". I fell in love with Viva la Vida when I heard it for the first time on June 22 2009 as it debuted at no. 1 in the UK single charts. I find this song epic / a masterpiece / an evergreen, and I am flying whenever I hear this song. Based on this Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is my no. 2 Coldplay albums followed by X&Y with the wonderful evergreens Fix You (no. 2) and Speed of Sound (no. 4). From Parachutes I especially like Yellow (no. 7) and Trouble. :):)

What's the average age of the Coldplaying.com-ers?
I am 51 and still young at heart.:wink3: On 16 August 2009 I will be at my second Coldplay Concert singing along to the wonderful songs and enjoying the wonderful performances from the 4 very talented people on stage! There is a very good saying with the meaning that you're not older than you make yourself. There are examples of young people behaving as old people and of old people behaving as young people. It is really what you make of it. VIVA LA VIDA! :laugh3::rolleyes:;)

Chris Martin Shoes
I totally agree with LoverinJapan and StrawberryGirl on this. Whether you happen to like CMs shoes and clothes is not important here - it is not a fashion fair! CM is obviously comfortable in those shoes and clothes, and I would say that it is vital for any singer to be just that in order to be able to perform with such energy for almost two hours. Let us be pleased that CM is able to deliver a GREAT SHOW over and over again and have all this amazing ENERGY.

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life...
If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, I would have a hard time choosing between these 3 songs because they are actually sharing MY no. one position for songs I NEVER get tired of listening too = real eternity songs: Viva la Vida + ONE by U2 + Angels by Robbie Williams :) I totally fell in love with Viva la vida at my first hearing it played on the radio (BBC, radio One) and I'm still flying whenever I hear it - I always liked ONE by U2, but it only became part-no. 1 in 2006 and Angels first became my part-no. 1 in 2000. So if someone pointed at me with a gun and said choose one! (not meant as a joke: Choose "ONE" :laugh3:), I would probably say VIVA LA VIDA 77 times and ONE 20 times and Angels 3 times at the most - so VIVA LA VIDA would be my no. 1 - I'm totally addicted to that song! to VLV .

Describe a Coldplay album using only two words
Parachutes: Devotion, simple (Yellow, Trouble) A Rush of Blood to the Head: Monumental & Emotional (In My Place, Clocks, Scientist) X&Y: Confusion; Shadows Viva la Vida & Death and All His Friends: Revolutionary & Colourful

express yourself with a song's title
Magnificent by U2:)
-
What Coldplay songs did you hate at first, but later came to love?
For a long time I did not like ("hated" is a too strong word) Fix You because of Chris' very high notes / singing register in the first part of the song - the song was okay after the guitar solo set in and with the chorus. Now I quite like it. :)
-
What song made you a Coldplay fan?
VIVA LA VIDA! It's a magnificent anthem and quite magical. When hearing it for the first time I felt like flying, and I haven't landed yet! :laugh3:

The COLDPLAY song you cant get enough of?
Cant get enough of the following COLDPLAY songs VIVA LA VIDA, as it is an anthem - so monumental, magical and majestic. When I first heard it on June 22, 2008 when it debuted at no. 1 in the UK single chart it took me flying and I haven't landed yet! That song means a lot to me and has the same impact on me as U2's "One" and Robbie William's "Angels" - songs that I call "my eternity songs" / songs written for the eternity! :) Other Coldplay songs of importance to me is "In my Place" and "Fix You" - both reminding me of the moment when I came to my childhood home to see my father who had died some hours earlier. These songs would be followed by the very beautiful "Clocks", "Speed of Sound" and "the Scientist". As to videos I vould votre for "Scientist" as no. 1 - a very moving story and video starring Chris (and some girl) followed by the alternative official Viva la Vida video starring Chris as a very pretty King (I quite feel sorry for this king - if I could I would immediately restore him as King)! :laugh3:
