  1. think i may go down extra early, just to let the excitement and closeness of the venue psych me up even more. Thank god my head is shaved, I can use solar power to aid in increasing my psyched ness  To everyone going down tonight, 4 hours 28 minutes until doors open :D Gonna bounce all the way down on the bus
  2. quick question: I know from previous concerts wearing t-shirts of the band that was playing was considered a faux pas. Still not sure why, but if I had an old t-shirt from when they came in 2009 ( not official, fan made so not the best quality) that would be ok to wear, right? Sure, it has shrunk( or my belly has grown :P ) but i love it, even as faded as it has become. What do people think? Is it somehow wrong to wear a shirt of the band you are going to see?
  3. Good to hear its intimate, and just found out my sister is coming tonight, it's her first coldplay show :D I hope she gets upgraded, would make for an awesome first time, and it seems she is in 318 too :D Dear god I am bouncing around like a child filled with sugar, this is so awesome :D
  4. for anyone that was there last night and is going tonight, any idea how the side and rear views are for seeing the concert? Not that I mind, I could not afford the higher end tickets when they were released, and cannot afford to upgrade now as money is tight. Just being there, ( and if they play DLIBYH, well, I may scream so loud the stadium hears me :D ) that,s enough for me, and reading of how some got upgrades yesterday, well, I can hope. Shame artistically I am more of a wordsmith than a painter or crafter, else I would try to make a homemade t-shirt to wear. Also, the last time they came to the ACC, did they celebrate Will's Birthday? I swore they always played Toronto on his birthday. Or am I getting confused with someone else? Anyways, I am trying to convince my sister to come tonight, she has never seen them live and she really should. Hopefully she can find some nice tickets, enjoy the majesty and spectacle that is a Coldplay concert :D
  5. I am new to listening to Florence and the Machines, but after the SNL songs that actually made me stand up and just listen, I have been listening to Lungs and Ceremonial pretty much non-stop, and I have to say, No Light, No Light, Shake it Out and Heartlines are turning into my must lsitens, just amazing how she sounds, how the music sounds, how it washes over me like a tide.
  6. 50/10, every time I hear this song I giggle, it is so dang awesome it makes me smile. :D Far and away, my favourite song on the album, and one of my favourite all time. Just such an incredible song.
  7. With AHT as an intro to this song, it just is amazing. Really turning into my favourite song along with U.F.O.
  8. When I first heard it I was amazed. 10/10, along with AHT and DLIBYH. I seriously want to hear a live version of it, just to compare.
  9. Ok, so I was not hallucinating when I thought I heard them play VH at the soundcheck. Not that I am complaining. Still so incredibly buzzed about the concert, and after watching the replay of it on Much at 1 AM, I have to say, it did not do the crowd justice. On Yellow, come on, we were all belting it out and yet, from the TV, it seemed like the crowd was whisper quiet. Now for some (admittedly not that great) photos: Soundcheck: and Concert :D That last photo I really like, not sure why. I have more photos, but they are not that great :(
  10. It was an amazing show! To the wolfpack ( you know who you are ;) ) that was truly awesome, my camera is pretty crappy but I'll try to get some pics up, got a few nice ones. I am so glad the rain let up for the show, it was kinda crazy there for a while. At least now I know, do not wear sandals when there is the chance of major rain showers. And to aunie, thank you so much , that was so nice. I hope you and your sister got to see at least some of the concert. So going to watch the replay at 1 am on Much :D
  11. from that picture, looks like it is not that far from the stage to the barrier that separates the first 2 sections. I'll still go early if for no other reason that I'd prefer to be by the barrier and be closer to the stage then be stuck in the back behind a mass of people.
  12. I think there may be parking at the Theatre behind Muchmusic, although I am not sure how much it would cost. Seems like it is discounted, according to the Scotiabank Theatre website, but I cannot find a price for it.
  13. wow, is the Edge still on Yonge just north of Queen or has it moved? I will make a detour to see them there :D Edit: nvm, Corus Quay, where is that?
  14. Sent you a PM, omg, I think my heart might explode! :D Edit: I am willing to get socked to the skin to wait in line, whats a little hypothermia when the love that will be there from all those Coldplay fans, OMG I need to breath :D
  15. Ok, but if by some cruel twist of fate I cannot get one ( and I am seriously planning on making tomorrow Coldplay Day :D and get there early to get a better chance at a wristband. ) will we still be able to, if not have a perfect view, at least still be in the general area to watch the concert? Now to figure out how early I should get there, maybe if I get there by 11 A.M. they will have a non-wristband line ( if not maybe I can get them to create one with me at the front :D ) Good lord, I am positively giddy about tomorrow. Even if I cannot get into the area to see them, just to be able to hear them live and not live via youtube or my television, to have that transcendental experience of hearing them live... Fair warning to anyone near me, I will get absolutely crazy. I am apologizing in advance. What can I say, hearing Coldplay live, it is as close to Heaven as I am ever going to get :D Edit: Is there any way to contact Much so I can know if going early without a wristband is going to do anything? I am ready willing and able to go early even if only to get a good view outside the area the concert will be in.
  16. So after looking at the scan above, I am somewhat confused, when it says Queen Street Gates, is that the gate onto the lot? For people like me that did not get a wristband, does that mean we squoosh against the fence to watch? Or does that mean that to even get onto Queen Street near Much Music, you need a wristband? I have class from 7-10pm, and I should not miss it but man, it's COLDPLAY:rockstar: ! And who knows when they are coming back to Toronto for a proper concert? Screw it, I'd never forgive myself if I missed it. Watching it on TV and watching it, even peripherally, in person, man, there is no comparison. :D
  17. The whole point is, imagine you could have a personal concert, you and maybe 50-200 friends in an intimate spot. Only thing is, they will play one album in its entirety, BUT, they will play songs from other albums. Not every song, but say 10-15 other songs from the other albums you did not choose. Does that make it less cruel?
  18. I am curious, if people could have the National play one album in order in an intimate concert, which one would it be? I am torn, I would love to hear SSFDL just to hear slipping husband, 90 mile water wall, but also really want to hear Virginia EP for Tall Saint, Blank Slate and Mansion on the Hill.
  19. Did he play Holocene from the new album and if so, is there a video of it? Did anyone go to the show in Toronto at the Sound Academy(I think)? Still so mad I missed my chance to see him live when he was here :(
  20. First time I went to a Coldplay concert was with a friend. I wish he had taped me because I was craaaaaazy. Most times I go to concerts alone quite simply because concerts for me are almost transcendental experiences. I get so lost in the music that being with someone else, well, I would get irritated if they were not as ecstatic as I was. And I like eclectic bands. Bands that are no longer around like the Rheostatics, the Watchmen (although Concert on Sept 24th! Wooooooooooooooooo! ), and others like the National, where it pays to listen to the lyrics and let everything wash over me like some eternal spring that renews and reinvigorates my soul. I wish my friends had better musical taste, but that will not stop me from going to a concert if i can manage it ( Still so very miffed I missed Bon Iver here in Toronto on Aug 8th(I think) because I heard about it so late the tickets were sold out. :( )
  21. Same, and I truly love the Glasto version of CB. It makes me feel like I am actually there with everyone else. I must have listened to it around 40 times or so, such an awesome song.
  22. I love all of their albums, love all of their songs ( even Runaway, which I admit, I would skip over before to get to Conversation 16) but give me Tall Saint anyday :D Keep your leg from shaking, fill your eyes with new tears or Fashion Coat : Everywhere I am is just another place without you in it Come on, for all the lovers out there, wouldn't you want your significant other to tell you that? :D so many of their songs are just so awesome they take my breath away. Also, love Afraid of Everyone, (is it Yellow Voices swallowing my soul, soul, soul, soul ?) Seems the lyrics sites say Your, I do not know why I hear Yellow instead.
  23. Brighter Hell- The Watchmen They are doing an annual show in September, playing an album in order from beginning to end. Such a brilliant idea.
  24. Everywhere I am is just another thing without you in it So awesome :D I know on the main National forums someone had a clip of them playing Santa Clara in concert recently. Now that's a depressing song. And yet, such an awesome song. I think they should dedicate a concert to an album, and do every song from the album. I choose The Virginia EP, mainly because I want to hear Tall Saint, Blank Slate, Santa Clara, You've Done It Again, Virginia, and Mansion on the Hill :D Then do hits from all the other albums ( Of course if they do this I hope they are close to Toronto so I can make the journey to see them;) )
  25. So true. Last year when they came to Toronto, the first show they played on June 8th I think it was, they actually played it live (damnit, now I am remembering, and am gunna have a stupid grin on my face all day:D ) I have watched it on Youtube, just knocks the breath outta me how amazing it was live. As to Lemonworld, I love it. Summer loving torture party! That and the fact that I had read it was one of the most difficult songs for them to play live, makes it all the more awesome. Have to admit though, I came late to the National( I tend to do that with most bands I fall in love with), but once I did...Took a bus down to NY to see them in Central park in 2008, stayed a week there and got serious sunburns  There are maybe 3(now 4) bands that just strike me. Just take my soul and expose it to the cold air, and then return it to me renewed. Coldplay, (and I seriously need to warn people that sit near me when they come back to Toronto. I must look like a Demon or someone having a religious experience), The National (OMG I love Pay For Me:D and pretty much everything else they have done. And their live shows? I grin like a big ole goof when I see them live.), The Watchmen (I cannot believe they are coming back to Toronto, AND are playing Silent Radar sequentially as well as other songs! Do It? Brighter Hell? I am gonna have this grin stuck on my face forever :laugh3: ) and now, Bon Iver, whose new album I have been listening too non stop for a week. But back to the National, I think when they first released HV, they went on Austin City Limits and were interviewed about HV and they thought the songs were not depressing. I guess each person brings their own emotions to a song when they listen. I love the fact that you have to listen to the lyrics of a National song, and that they actually make you think. Music like that is rare. Music like that should always be treasured and savoured like a fine wine left to age.
