See, I LOVE Glee, as embarrassing as it is to admit, so i'd be interested to know why they said no, because like it was said earlier, it does make them seem a tad bit pretentious if you don't know how the band is. i was talking about this with someone the other day, and explained how they rarely allow their stuff to be used in commercials and stuff due to their attitude toward that sort of this, cause she kinda got stuffy about it, saying they thought they were too good for their songs to be used on the show :angry: it may just be better PR to actually come out with a reason, if it's addressed at a later time...altho they're really popular enough on their own i suppose. I dunno, i guess as a fan of both I just would like to know :) altho honestly, I'm completely cool with them not covering Coldplay...I don't think they'd do it justice and quite frankly, that would irritate me. Stick with overplayed bartunes (ie Don't Stop Believin :) )

lol i'm so bad about this. I was at a bar, having a conversation with someone and could barely hear the background music, but i did-it was the beginning strain of in my place and i was like a kid with ADD...i like looekd around and was like, I HEAR COLDPLAY. the guy gave me the weirdest look I was like....:wideeyed: lol

i've been a fan since yellow was released in the US. And i'm super uber stoked for the 5th album, as long as it's awesome. I did PR work among my friends when VLV came out...gained like 5 new fans for the group. i feel accomplished haha

Amsterdam I just now bought the live 2003 dvd/cd combo and watched that last night and have been listening to Amsterdam non-stop...gahhh so wonderfullll

I didn't realize it was available as a digital download at Amazon! :) I've been looking for a digital copy FOREVER....I love it too.....i've never heard the album version....

Me too!!! I've had it on repeat since I woke up lol...been in a coldplay kind of mood this weekend lol...

See, I've never quite understood that argument. I can see how sometimes the music itself is a little depressing sounding (although I always prefer to think of it as really beautiful...), but the lyrics themselves are often uplifting and positive...i've always found coldplay to be very uplifting and, many times, the only thing that helps me out if i'm feeling like crap lol....

Don't DO IT! lol i always think of this, when I listen to them a lot (nonstop, often, every few weeks...) but they're probably the only band I always come back to that often...the only one I never, ever get tired of. LRLRL is actually in my car cd player right now, again. if you do, always keep in mind when the break ends, you have the joy of rediscovering why you're so addicted to them in the first place lol :)

lol I take a little bit of crap for it, but since the release of VLV, a lot of people have accepted their awesomeness, since VLV was such a big hit.... that being said, I do get the eyerolls a lot; however, I have also turned a few of my friends into coldplay fans. Which is saying something, I think ;) I just think The 40 Year Old Virgin made it kind of a teasing point to be a Coldplay fan, but for the most part, people at least respect them, even if they don't particularly like the music... uh, after the novel i've written lol...yes, i have no shame being a fan. i'll argue til my face is blue, if someone was to start to make fun of me.

Chris is determined not to be seen as a huge commercial rock juggernaut, filling stadiums and cashing in. This is the plan to keep them as close to their fans as possible & this is why they're one of the best out there, in addition to their amazing work. I don't think i've ever been to a concert where I've felt that much like the band gave a crap about everyone in the stadium. except for maybe the goo goo dolls...but really. Coldplay FTW

7 Yellow. I will always remember being up late, watching VH1 and having their new artist videos pop up, and seeing Chris and being like, who is this scrawny...oh my god the music lol :pleased:

I love reading the article, how they not only compliment the music but the fact that Chris (& I would assume the rest of them) has "integrity, conscience and is funny & intelligent." I also love how he mentions how he remembers hearing "Yellow" for the first time...that's how I always knew Coldplay was one of my top favs...I will never forget the first time I heard Yellow, and how I felt when I heard it. Ah Coldplay :heart: :wacky:

oh i loved that. cracked me up. it was my first coldplay concert, but won't be my last :D srsly, would love to go to their next venue if I had the money/time....

Hey everyone! :D I'm Jen, I'm 24 and I'm from St. Louis, MO. I've been a Coldplay fan since I was 15....i'll never forget the first time I heard "Yellow". I've never gotten to see them live (So expensive!), but tonight's the night I do! I'm pretty excited, so much so that i've had Coldplay blinders on for a few weeks lol, and that's kind of why i finally signed up for an account and figured i'm gonna try and become a regular here...i'm not really sure what else to say. It's nice to be here :)
