Okay, so I'm home safe and sound! :) Tired is an understatement, but I can't seem to relax, haha! It was super nice to meet my family again but they're cleaning the house at the moment and I got a free pass since I actually don't live here anymore :smug:
Which gives me time to write some sort of summary for you guys! (Figured it was best to write with everything still fresh in my memory - even if it feels like some strange dream, being home so soon after!)
Soo... Okay, where to begin (beware that I'm really not a story teller when it comes to retelling actual events, haha)...
I had to get up at 6am to catch my flight which left at 10.25. Flight went okay - the transfer into London from Stansted not so okay. The traffic was horrible! Eventually the bus driver chose to take a different route and I made it to the hotel (which was very suitably located in walking distance from the Roundhouse, yay for my planning!)
After some texting with Pete we decided to meet at Chalk Farm tube station and while walking there I got extremely nervous. I never, ever get nervous. I had to (underage children please look away) smoke, haha. Things got a bit better when I finally met up with Pete, though!
As I think Pete mentioned, we managed to dodge the red carpet (which at first we were told weren't for us, and then were told that it was - very strange) which at least I was very grateful for! I was in no sense of mind to stand in front of hordes of photographers with huge camera lenses - no matter how good my dress looked (and, yes, it looked good).
(Shown here :D :P sorry about the bad quality of the photos, my sister has a habit of changing the settings making them look like crap  should probably have checked that, haha)
I kind of feel that I'm repeating what Pete said - but whatever, deal with it! :P
We got free drinks at the reception, which was very needed, indeed! We sat down and chatted a bit and after a couple of minutes I saw someone I recognized! Miller! :D
Not one to pass a situation like that up, I decided that we should go and introduce ourselves, which we did! He seemed kind of awkward about us talking to him at first, but he was very nice about it. I hope we didn't come on too strong, haha! He told us they (he and a guy named Chris) were sitting at table 33 (which we were too, yay!)
Argh, I’m rubbish with these kinds of things and I have to live up to Pete’s great report!
Aaaanyway.
Dinner was eventually announced and we went down to our table and feeling brave, perhaps due to the two glasses of champagne and the beer I’d had in half an hour, I asked Miller if he’d mind us sitting next to them. Of course he didn’t mind (I think it was because we’re clearly awesome people - I might be biased, but I’m definitely right).
I really have to agree with Pete about them being the best table companions possible. So nice to chat with them!
And, Pete, I’m not really sure about these “feminine charms” of which you speak  That’s hilarious.
So. The little anecdote about the globe.
Carrie (Numbersgirl who bought the globe in case you didn’t know) had told me to pass on a ‘hello’ to miss Debs Wild for being so helpful during the End of Decade lottery so I asked Miller if he would be so kind and do so. He said he would and seemed very happy about knowing that it was working (and had survived its journey across the pond)!
Apparently they hadn’t even expected it to work when they took it out of storage and it was actually Will who suggested they plug it in to check whether or not it did. (There you go, Carrie, Will – always the voice of reason, huh?)
Then I got the text from Natascha and Miller just laughed when I showed it to him.
One other thing that was kind of fun was that I had brought Ryan’s little red MINI with me (I felt so bad for not sending it back to her mum since I got it a few months ago and figured I should bring it to the awards as a surprise!) and he remembered being photographed with it before in Mexico.
He kindly posed with it again!
Then the girl from the McFly forum (Hi, Pascal so nice to meet you!) took a pic of all of us together!
Hmm…
Oh, yeah, this one funny thing happened. I don’t remember what the carnivores got for their main course, but it featured like a mini copper pot. Miller (and I too) thought that they were nice and Miller joked that it would be perfect to boil like one single egg in, hinting that he should take it home with him. I said that he should hide it in his napkin (which was cloth, of course) and we laughed a bit at it. When they (a few hours) later got up to leave (kisses and handshakes all around) he was still holding his napkin and I wrinkled my brows at him questioningly and he opened it up to reveal the mini copper pot with a cheeky grin. It was hilarious! (Don’t worry, he didn’t actually take it).
And, ah, I just have to mention the MUSE fans that came up to us, even if Pete already has. I kind of saw they were looking at us and whispering a bit, but I had no idea who they were so I ignored it – but then they came up with big smiles on their faces and asked if I was Anna from Coldplaying! How they knew/remembered my name I will never know (I guess they stalk :P) and they were such nice people! So, hi, if you’re stalking this too!
Well, everything’s still kind of blurry for me, so if I remember anything else I’ll post it soon!
Miller, if you see this, I hope we weren’t too intense! :P Can’t be fun to talk about work when you’re at a party…
Pete had to leave a bit into the after party (which was so dull, haha, stuffy people not dancing :P) and it was so sad to say goodbye! (My colds back, by the way, I blame you! :P) But I got a replacement in the form of Craig – so I at least didn’t have to feel alone! After I checked the party one more time while getting my coat, I decided that we should ditch it. So Craig and I went for a pint and had such a nice chat! :nice:
Craig and I decided to meet up for lunch the next day, which we did, and we hung out until I had to leave at four to catch my flight.
I hate goodbyes, but I’ll be back soon!
(And what is this ruckus about me going all the way from Sweden and awards and stuff? It absolutely didn’t feel like a burden for me to come to London, haha! More like a huge privilege!!)
Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to go, Ian & Jen! It was an amazing night.
That’s it for now, folks, I’ll see if I can dig up some more from my tired brain later! :)
I'm just uploading a few videos too, so you'll at least have that to look forward to!
