I love the album, but I do think their best stuff has yet to be made, MX is another stepping stone for them to be the greatest fucking band ever.

I was very pleased with the song. I may have been one of the few that actually liked Rihanna's involvement since the announcement. It is by far the most experimental song Coldplay has done from a sound perspective, but I thought the sound gave it a good kind of edginess. The lyrics were fantastic and reminds me of AROBTTH writing. I really liked the clear and crisp voice of Rihanna coupled with Chris's own edgy voice. If there is one complaint I have with the song, it would be simply not enough duet between the two singers. I really really liked their duet and there simply needed to be more. Rihanna definately does the lions share of the singing but overall it was a very enjoyable song.

From a promotion stand point PoC as the next single and it possibly being released the day after the album is solid gold for Coldplay since their collaberation with Rihanna was already getting buzz. This will help keep up the album's momentum.

This album is tied with VLV for best album yet for me, because of the suprisingly strong and cohesive narrative they have throughout the album. I do think though that the album is more fully enjoyed when you play it in one go from start to finish. I definately think this was a nice, bold push in their musical vocabulary and some of the songs really stood out from that push. MX/HLH, MMIX/ETIAW, POC, and DLIBYH were among the stand outs from the album. If someone wants me to explain why about any of these songs feel free to say so.

It is a highly contrasting song compared to the rest of the album, at first glance it doesn't seem to "fit in". However, I think it fits well when you consider the narrative they were going with in the album, the whole boy girl love story. Some of the studio effects can be at times annoying, but I don't think it breaks the song.

Thats what I've always liked about Coldplay albums. Their vagueness allows for us to make our own stories and interpretations. I do love the narrative MX set up. It gets better the more I listen to it
