  1. I can only agree with that. You need to develop a feel and eye for it. The only way to improve is to draw again and again. Even if you think it looks like crap. If you think it looks like crap, work further it may get better. If it doesn't, start again or start a new one. Most of the time when I'm drawing I always reach a point where I think it looks horrible. If I had given up every time I probably wouldn't have finished anything. It's like learning to play the guitar. Don't expect to be able to play the most awesome guitar solo in history right away. You learn chords and go from there. The best advice someone gave me was: "Draw what you see." You don't see a nose, you see a shape. Stop trying to draw a nose as a whole. It isn't a nose, it's a shape, made of tiny other shapes who all relate to each other. If it helps and you are drawing from a photo for example, turn it 180° and draw upside down. If you don't have a pencil, you can still draw in your mind, i.e. look at things. What do they look like, what does the light do... I hope that makes sense :uhoh: tldr; draw draw draw Molly, your drawing looks quite nice already. Like Thalia said, try adding in some shadows
  2. Probably a weird question, but what was the strangest item they asked him to mx-ify and has the MX style influenced his own style/work in any way.
  3. you are welcome  and I've broken your spell of 666 thanks ;)
  4. Do you mean this one? Probably not, but that was the one that came immediately to mind. :P and good luck with your studying
  5. That's probably a personal thing, but I think their products are massively overpriced and don't suit my needs. :) I also have a profound dislike for iTunes. :P
  6. lol, same here. I refuse to buy any Apple products nor do I want to ever install iTunes. oh well...
  7. I've sent you a pm :)
  8. Thank you, that was completely my intention  Thanks! Thanks! I'm convinced anyone can learn how to draw, all it takes is a lot of practice. I still need a crapload of practice. :P Seriously guys, thanks for all the comments
  9. Haha, no I'm by no means a professional  I'll see what I can do, it doesn't lend itself that well for horizontal things it seems Those are slightly scaled down I think  The entire thing is an A2 at 300 dpi. haha lol, one can never fangirl enough :P And thanks for the help once again. Why thank you  I do have a dA, but it's scaled down there too, since people tend to rip things off so easily these days so I'm a bit wary to post anything full size. :( This is the one linked from dA. Thank you
  10. as promised some details for Row
  11. Well, if you would like to see it, I posted it in the photomontages thread ;) http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5441819&postcount=1623 And yes, we actually *always* need Will pics!
  12. Why thank you  I started it about 2 weeks ago and could only work on it a few hours during the week and a bit more in the weekends. I finished actually even faster than I thought it would take  They are all on separate layers, so I could switch them on and off when I needed to. But it's an entire painting, otherwise I would probably have messed up the light. I need to see things as a whole. Although the composition changed several times. I started with Jonny, then Chris, Guy, Will and reworked Jonny's jacket again because I got better at fabric. :P I could post some bigger details later tonight if you like
  13. Thank you very much!

Damn I'm trying not watching any of the released things but they sure are giving me a very hard time this way :bomb:
  15. Hullo! It's been a while but I have a new drawing (once again not a photomontage). :P This time it's supposed to become the cover of the book for the coldplayers diary 2012. I tried to visualize the atmosphere of their concerts during the MX tour even though I haven't been to one myself. I hope I succeeded :sweatdrop: Thalia kindly helped me by pointing out some mistakes which I hopefully corrected. :uhoh: It's a lot bigger than this, but I don't want any computers to explode

  18. Thank you! I changed it a bit in the meantime.
  19. Well, out of interest I installed vbulletin locally this afternoon and tried to find out how to style this thing. Turns out it isn't that hard after all. This is just the main page, so if you are interested I can make a complete style out of it. It is pretty fun actually.
  20. I think it's someone's shoulder?

I can buy a huge house with that, not just a spraypainted wall :laugh3: :shocked2:
  22. Thanks! I really wanted to see that, but didn't realize there was another attempt today!
  23. It's from the Birmingham Live Blog in 2008  7.17pm: Here's Chris and Jonny, in the dressing room, just before heading off to do an interview. They seemed in good spirits. As did Prospekt, who popped in to say hello. 2008, man, time flies...It seems like only a few months ago
