They are actually holding a different guitar, although with almost the same design, in the bottom picture: (non painted headstock with black instead of brown and white at the bottom and top of the body) Maybe they sold that one? I do vaguely remember a discussion about it in the EODCS thread

  21. English translation (might still contain some errors): Coldplay is tired of hotelrooms Recently Coldplay's fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto, the result of two years work, was released. "It was quite an extensive studio session," says bassist Guy Berryman. "Mylo Xyloto was the largest project that we worked on. We were constantly in the studio during those two years for almost every day of the week." "We went into the studio with some ideas on how it should sound and we came out of there with something completely different," says Berryman of Coldplay about the process. "We extended a song over and over until it no longer could get any better," adds to Champion. "Then let it alone for a week." According to Champion this is the reason that the songs on Mylo Xyloto are so pompous. "It is inevitable that our music sounds like this in the end. We are very attracted to a variety of sounds. We love a complex and full sound. Sometimes it starts small and sober, but the end result sounds huge." Time "We had a lot of time which we fully utilized," said Berryman of on the Coldplay approach in the studio. "But we do work effectively. If we only had had three months time, I'm not sure that we had succeeded. But we had two years time, so we took the time." When Coldplay performed at Pinkpop this summer, the band put the finishing touches on Mylo Xyloto. Champion: "We were busy finishing the album while we were playing at festivals in Europe. We had set up several small studios thatwe could make use of in our spare time ." Arenas Berryman states that songs often get their final form during performances of the band. "It helps us to finish songs. If you play a song live, you understand it better. We also know that when we make a record we have to play those songs in arenas and large venues." Initially, Coldplay had the intention to record an intimate album. "We started with acoustic songs, but gradually we were not as enthusiastic about the concept of an acoustic album. When you play for a large group of people, recording and touring start to lie in one line." Scrapped Songs like Paradise and Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall made it onto the CD, but a lot of material was scrapped. "Many songs did not make it onto the album, mainly because they were not good enough," admits Champion. "Others did not fit, but were very good on their own. I do not know what we are going to do with them." The idea for an EP is suggested, as Coldplay's Prospekt's March of 2008. "We were just talking about that" Berryman said about a conversation he had a few minutes earlier with singer Chris Martin. "If a song is good, it's a waste not to use it. We want them to release somehow." Hotel Rooms Near the end of a long and exhausting year, the band looks forward to a few weeks off. "The grass is always greener on the neighbors," according to the almost continuous gaping Berryman. "Sometimes I would like to work in a bank or something," he laughs. "After ten years in hotel rooms, the novelty is a bit off." The drummer and bassist are content to let Chris Martin draw all attention. "We feel comfortable with the dynamics within the band," says an equally tired-looking Champion. "That works well for us. We live a fairly normal life, as far as possible. I still can go to a pub." Balance "For us it is important to find good balance between work, fun, dedication, and our family life," he continues. "We were lucky, for that matter. We are on good terms with each other, our friendship is stronger than ever. And we have an incredible year behind us." "We are now in a comfortable position. We have survived a stormy period in the music industry." Berryman agrees. "I am proud of everything we've accomplished. When people say we are the most popular band in the world, and the like, it's nice to hear." Statistics "I just do not understand it so well," he adds. "I do not see that as something that is very important to me. We concentrate only on the artistic side of the story. Everything else is secondary to us. Every manager comes with every release of an album with new statistics. The world is full of statistics. " The simple numbers and sales figures do the bassist visibly little. "It's nice to be nominated for awards and we would feel left out if that wouldn't happen - but Coldplay is pure friendship and the albums that we make." Coldplay performs on September 6 at the Malieveld, The Hague.
  22. Is there a size restriction? Like portrait or landscape for the picture?
