Prospekt font?
Wow SueDeNimes, that is absolutely amazing! It's basically identical to Prospekt's writing (or is it Prospekt's writing, copied off their website? If it is, how the heck did you manage that!) Well done :D I'm going to print copies of it out and use them for random stuff - like writing 'Coldplay is life' all across my room :laugh3:

When people say X&Y was "overproduced".
I agree with most of the stuff that's been said before me, but I still have to say that I really love X+Y. It's not by favourite by a long way, as that title undoubtedly goes to VLVODAAHF or AROBTTH, but X+Y is still an amazing album - although I suppose I am a little biased because Coldplay, to me, are pure perfection and nothing they make could ever be bad :laugh3: However, I think a lot of people didn't like the fact that they went from being very acoustic, very 'organic' to a lot more 'electric' sound and quite a bit more modern than the first two albums were. Saying that, as a few people have already said, there were heaps of songs on here that were still very traditional Coldplay like A Message, Fix You etc. all brilliant love ballads and the like. IMHO though, X+Y was still a fantastic album that I think is criticised quite unfairly. And as Chris said, they really liked it and I think the fans should be happy with what the band are happy with :) if that made any sense at all

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
Missed this thread all day today :laugh3: I was thinking about Guy all day as well, I kept writing on my school books 'I Love GB' and 'Mrs Guy Berryman' all over them  My friend asked me who GB was and I just stared at her - then she finally got it and went, Oh that guy from Coldplay... I was like :o Not just 'that guy from Coldplay', the hottest guy on the PLANET don't you mean?! Two things I was thinking about today, has anyone noticed his bass playing is really... ... energetic!!!!!!! :wink3: If you get what I mean :laugh3: I have one of those moving pictures and he almost looks like he's dancing :D It's like, if that's how he is on stage... I'll go no further :P And the other thing, don't you just love how he always wears scarves, or seems to anyway?! I'm just like, a real man always wears scarves and he looks PDF (pretty darn fine) in them :laugh3: This thread is doing nothing to help my Guy obsession, in case anyone wanted to know  My picture for the day: EDIT: Is it me, or is the pic not coming up? And also, isn't it possible to post the moving pictures (or whatever they're called?!

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Coldplay part of my day: Was in my French class and my teacher, as a break from a heap of tests we'd just done, had made a little game where we had to translate, from French into English, the names of bands. So, to my complete and utter delight, what should be top of the list but 'Froid Jouer'!!! :D When she asked for the band name I shot my hand up and answered 'The best band in the entire world ie. Coldplay!' Everyone in my class just burst out laughing so now everyone knows of my obsession - but it had me in a good mood all day after that :laugh3: Weird and/or wonderful thing: I was outside listening to Speed of Sound on my iPod and then when the chorus came on, a flock of birds suddenly flew past me really quickly, then started showing off. Quite coincidental as the chorus is, obviously: And birds go flying at the speed of sound To show you how it all began Birds came flying from the underground If you could see it then you'd understand As soon as the song finished, they flew off again but I just thought how really awesome that was. That also made my day :D

Help me with my school project! :) What makes it fun being a fan of Coldplay, and why do you like th
Wow, what an amazing project to be allowed to do :) I would love to do something like that but my school are boring andd don't do cool things :P Everyone has already said heaps of brilliant ideas, but one thing that I think is going to be hard to explain is why you like their music. Obviously I adore Coldplay's music and without it my life would be miserable, and nowhere near as happy as it is now, but there aren't many reasons I can think of WHY I like it - I just... do! It's as much a part of me as everything else and I think aniskywalker and PlayinWithColdFingers sum up the principles of Coldplay really well - it's not just their music, although that is the epitome of all they do, but the way of life as well. All the Coldplay boys are so grounded, despite their huge status, and even as they've become worldwide-famous they've kept their feet on the ground. They're not snobby and all high-and-mighty about their fame and they connect with their fans just the same as they would anyone else. Ther principles and morals (Fair Trade, Oxfam etc) show a fabulous sense of goodness in them and I think it's so kind of them to use them fame for positive things rather than using it negatively which would be so much easier. As Chris said, rock and roll isn't about the sex, drink and drugs, it's about doing what YOU want do and not caring what anyone else thinks. For example, thanks to Coldplay I can see that I should always stay true to myself and not change just so that other people 'like' me more - I'd rather be myself and be happy in myself than have fake friends. Hope your project goes well - if I think of anything more, I'll post! x

Random Coldplay thoughts...
random thought: not had many today (don't you just hate when that happens :( ) but when i was going into town at lunch today with my friends, someone said 'i hope we don't get wet' because it was about to start raining, and i said 'if it's SPANISH rain we definitely won't!' they didn't really get that and i got a few weird looks :laugh3: and someone said something in biology and i thought they said viva but it turned out they said something completely different - i obviously had viva la vida on the brain

The Scientist - spike in iTunes popularity?
It's a bit worrying that it takes a cover - and American Idol as well :o - of it to get a burst in popularity, but I suppose if it helps people hear it... The Scientist has special meaning to me as it was the first Coldplay song I ever heard and it made me fall in love with them, so to see it become popular again makes me happy :D as does listening to The Scientist 50 times on my iPod on loop :laugh3:

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
You took the words right out of my mouth :laugh3:!!! Guy does manage to look hot in everything - I think God must have been having the best day ever when He created Guy Berryman  either that or the world was having an off day so they got Guy Berryman to make everything better :P Short or long hair, t-shirts or the Viva jacket, he is definitely the epitome of perfection :D

When Did Music Become Real For You?
Weirdly enough, I've been thinking about this a lot lately, and that was even before I realised this thread was here. For me, music was always something that was involved in my life - my parents weren't particularly musical but we always had the radio on and even today I would far rather listen to the radio than watch the TV or something. As I was growing up, around the 9-12 sort of years, I think I just kind of listened to the average, generic pop that gets churned out nowadays, and thought nothing of it, but as I've hit my teens and got closer to young adulthood, music has very much become one of, if not THE, most important aspect of my life. In fact, I'm 99.999999% sure it was Coldplay who helped me realise that there was music out there not designed with the average person in mind, instead for real music-lovers. Music used to be something I was perfectly happy to listen to, but wouldn't go out of my way for: now, I listen two, three, four times a day at least, and whereas my friends just listen to the odd song on their iPod's, I could listen to mine for hours and hours on end. One of my best friends and I were talking the other day and she asked me how I could do nothing but listen to music, and didn't I find it boring. I said that I could never find music boring, and that I wouldn't feel complete without it - a whole chunk of me would be missing. Music is so joyful, the epitome of the human mind (or mine anyway!) and something I could never even comprehend living without. I used to be just an average person when it came to music, but as I've matured it is something that just completes me: life without it would be dull, dark and miserable. I know some people think that everyone loves music the same, but there is no doubt that others enjoy and really FEEL it more - my mum and dad always say that they were musical but not to the extent that I am, and my friends just don't get how important it is to me. I'm glad though to have found a forum, and effectively a community, where not only does everyone love Coldplay, but they also feel the same way about music as I do. It helps a lot to know there are thousands out there who feel the same passion :)

Coldplayers meet-up in London, Summer 2010 - UPDATED 4/7/2010!!
Would love to do something like that but seeing how I'm a lot under 18 and my mum would never let me go to London to meet people I'd never actually met (but I'm sure you are all lovely :laugh3:) can't ever see it happening :( Do you guys do stuff like that when they're actually touring? That would be an awesome thing to do :D Hope you all have a fab time then :P

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
When you downloaded hundreds of pictures of Coldplay and various members just for the craic and put them on your phone/iPod and your friends just look at you funny :laugh3: seems to be happening a lot these days. Also when even your own mum tells you to shut up about Coldplay because she is so tired of every word coming out of your mouth having something to do with them or even being vaguely related to Coldplay  EDIT: 1. When Coldplaying is the last thing on your laptop at night (either that or Don Quixote on youtube or any of their songs on Spotify) and the first thing on it in the morning at 6:10am. 2. When said laptop being on at 6:10am is because you got up 20 mins earlier JUST to check up on any Coldplay news :D 3. When you think of nothing but Coldplay and you rarely do anything on computer/iPod/phone etc that isn't to do with them :laugh3: or say anything remotely normal either

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Wow, a new Live DVD would be awesome as anything :D That would be me very very happy and a little less sad that as yet Coldplay haven't said anything about new UK dates, and probably won't for a while because of the new album and the fact that they have just (almost) finished a massive worldwide tour... Do you think I expect too much of them? :laugh3: Aw well, I'd rather have the new album and a Live DVD... they can do some UK dates next year... if I don't die before then because I'm suffering from Seeing-Coldplay-Live-Withdrawal-Symptoms  My random Coldplay thought for the day was I was at this science thing with my parents, and a guy speaking about electricity asked the people if they knew why we see lightning before we hear the thunder... so I said because the speed of light is quicker than the speed of sound and of course that triggered lots of singing of 'And birds go flying at the speed of sound...' etc :P Everything anyone says at the moment relates to Coldplay imo and it's being to really get on other people's nerves methinks  aw well... rambled on enough now, ought to go to bed... why is coldplay or coldplaying always far more important and interesting thought than bed or homework :laugh3:

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
I was just thinking that, although I am of course a big fan of Chris with curly hair, he is looking really good in all the photos from the Latin America tour so far - and that's with short hair... So who's for short and who's for long (and, I guess, who's for both?!) I'll go for both :laugh3: Because, like Guy, Chris looks good whatever - which is not fair because he's a guy, and even as a girl I never look as good as him

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
Oh my goodness, the ear-to-ear grin wouldn't come off my face for YEARS if I actually got to meet them, and if I got to speak to them or get a photo taken with them :shocked2: that would be me sorted for the rest of my life :laugh3: So wish I'd been able to go to Latin America for the tour but considering how I'm at school at the moment, I don't think my parents would have been too happy  Will just have to wait until they come back to Britain and go to every single one of their shows :P

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Random thought: I'm so glad to have Coldplaying.com back again!!!!! It's been less than two days since I was on here but by the end of the first day I felt like my world was crashing in :laugh3: I was so... empty without it. And it didn't help that my iPod went out of battery so no Coldplay either - I practically died :o Never realised how obsessed I've become! And in biology today, my teacher was like 'We are all scientists here.' and I started humming The Scientist, then in another class some paragraph had the word 'politics' in it and I had to start humming Politik  Glad to have my Coldplayness back!

You know you're addicted to Coldplay when...
and i TOTALLY do that, all the time... including now!!! :laugh3: meant to be doing maths and english, then some german, but why do that when you could be on coldplaying... and it's sort of a spanish education since i'm listening to viva at the moment  oh well, only going to fail two tests tomorrow because i'm on here :P

HAPPY 33RD BIRTHDAY, CHRIS! (March 2nd)
OK, thanks a heap! And about this: "you probably will make a better one than that" I fail at cooking, baking, and generally anything that requires common sense (!) so yours will undoubtedly be better than any of my efforts :laugh3: Although if I get my mum to help then it might work - and I'll have a chance to practice on guy's birthday so that's all good! (although his would have to be perfect in fitting tribute to such a perfect person :D) and also, if your cakes got any more complex they would actually be 100% pure perfection because i have never seen anything already so complex as your one!!! thanks anyway, annabel x PS. i love how coldplayers are so friendly, i'm finding it really easy to talk to people about the thing that matters to me most in the entire world - people don't understand why i'm so obsessed at school so have to go online  such a nice bunch of (obsessed) people :laugh3:
