[9-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Paralympics Closing Ceremony, London, UK (please post your reviews for Wiki,
I did enjoy it. But at the same time I wouldn't say it is the best performance I've seen. I just think at this point, as much as I'd love to see them again, I just want them to take a break... Some of the higher notes pretty much were non-existent. Hey Phil. Long time no see :nice: UATW made me cringe straight the way through. He did settle down, but he still wasn't at his best. Even my Mum said she was disappointed-- saying he sounded ill in comparison to June.

^Have you guys not read the NME article(s) then... Because y'know, they range from 'meh' to scathing. Even I wasn't overly impressed last night. I loved hearing some older tracks, but Chris needs to rest... His vocals are pitchy (could be nerves coming through too)

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
^Yeah I get the feeling some sort of stammering association is paying them off. At least if you have a stammer you now can come in to music and be accepted.

I actually find the video quite cool in parts... It was better than I expected at any rate. But the song is still so disappointing. There are some Musers on my T/L and Facebook that are all like SHGYTG7BF BEST THING EVUR and I just can't cope with them.

2012 Albums Worth Listening To
Really can't recommend 'My Head There's an Animal' by Of Monsters and Men (I think it was released earlier in the year-- but in the UK it was only released last week). Really lovely. Also 'Tales from the Thames Delta' by The Milk is pretty decent too for a debut. Guitars and quite soulsy I guess? I don't know how to explain it really; I was taken by them at Isle of Wight festival because they played for 40 minutes straight (I mean no filler or banter, just song into song)

[2-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Stade de France, Paris, France
No idea. They probably had some sort of timeframe in mind and so ended up having to drop it? And yeah, the order is out... I wonder if this has something to do with Rihanna though? That she took longer to change or something.

Coldplay/Keane/Muse trends.
^Your show had to be boring. Muse don't interact well with the crowd, it is true, so if your judgement is on looks + band banter then Muse aren't going to be the cup-of-tea. But the sheer spectacle of the show is far, far superior to anything and everything else I have seen. I saw both Muse and Coldplay at Wembley Stadium within a year of each other and Muse were better. And even since I've seen Coldplay twice more on the MX tour... I still find Muse better.

Coldplay/Keane/Muse trends.
Yeah I made this point some weeks ago on release of Survival and Madness solidified this opinion. But I'm definitely not saying it is a good thing. Slippery slope down. And I would say with Keane, their equivalent of MX/T2L is Perfect Symmetry and Strangeland is a return to form.

[2-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Stade de France, Paris, France
Coldplay invited Rihanna on stage for her first Stade de France 4/5 For their first visit to the Stade de France on Sunday, the British Coldplay invited Rihanna to join them on stage during a concert of magical colors -- their latest album "Mylo Xyloto." Coldplay is one of the few artists to have filled the Stade de France this year. And the 80,000 spectators who made the trip Sunday, the group made it big this concert they announced filming. At the entrance, the organizers have distributed tens of thousands of bracelets equipped with remote controlled diodes. When Coldplay came on stage to the sound of the title track "Mylo Xyloto," a forest of diodes pink, blue, green, orange, flashing in time with the music, lit the Stade de France. Then fireworks, confetti, giant balloons, pink butterflies inflated with hot air have marked the concert. The euphoric effect was guaranteed, all dressed Coldplay Stade de France, stage backdrop decorations instrumentation, fluorescent colors of "Mylo Xyloto". The group largely devoted to the concert last album, which has sold 400,000 copies in France. Coldplay but also a place for classic rock anthems alternating with energy cut for stadiums ("God put a smile upon your face", "Viva la vida" ...) and melancholy tunes ("Yellow", "The Scientist" ...). If four Britons have long been accustomed to the huge speakers, they kept reflexes Group: tight on one end of the huge C-shaped stage, they sought contact with the public, advancing steadily in the middle of pit to play a tiny amount or platform installed at the bottom of the stage. It is on one of these advances they have come together to play "Princess of China", a title of their latest album duet with Rihanna. While Chris Martin finished the first verse, the beautiful Caribbean appeared at the bottom of the scene before joining, quietly dressed in a long red silk dress. To the delight of an incredulous audience, they returned a second time "Princess of China" before Rihanna returns to the end of the concert version stripped of his "Umbrella", accompanied by the leader of Coldplay on the piano. A few hours earlier, the singer from Barbados has caused a stampede when she arrived in Paris before attacking her Parisian fans on social networks. It broke out on her twitter account, sending quick succession four unkind tweets: "The French are completely mabouls", "I had to fight to get out of the fucking train," she launched. [source] If someone else would like to translate it properly? That's just Google's translate as I really, really can't speak French.

[2-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Stade de France, Paris, France
^Yeah I know about that; which is why I'm thinking it could be a homage. Otherwise I would say completely coincidental.

[2-Sep-2012] Coldplay @ Stade de France, Paris, France
I would say that it could either be a homage or completely coincidental. It does do the whole 'ma-ma-ma-madness' from Muse... But then again the beat and rhythm is off to keep with Clocks. And the piano doesn't fit normal Madness. As much as I would die if Coldplay and Muse came together again like in the '00 being a massive fan of both, do they really have to do it now when both are on the slippery slope of radio-friendly, overproduced albums? :\

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
^It's true. Music now doesn't have the backing; but then sometimes I wonder whether you really do need money to make art and really fantastic music. Some of the best albums of 2011/12 for me have been those just starting out which have the tiniest labels and the least monetary backing going. I remember wanting to learn guitar at school, and the piano, but we couldn't afford it. So I've grown up with a love of music but absolute no skills or talent in it at all (admittedly I am trying o teach myself guitar).

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Nah, I know you're not. It's refreshing for someone not to be saying that. Oh yeah, Matt has always had the perchance for a real clanger of lyricism. But these days it is getting more common than not. Or maybe I just notice more now because I've started listening to a lot more music. And you're right about that too. No Muse album has ever been flawless. If I'm honest, I can't really remember the last album I thought was flawless (maybe Alt-J or Breton; but I'm sure I had some complaints about them at first that I'm not as fussed about now? :laugh3:) I'm holding a tiny candle of hope that the rest is better. Or if not, just sort of listenable so I don't feel like renouncing Muse forever. I have too. I have used up all my luck though for the foreseeable future by winning tickets to see SBTRKT though. But I can dream. :P

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I find that in the earlier material there seemed to be more layers of depth at least to the lyrics. I have to agree that Matt has never been a poet, but I just feel that Madness and Survival have lacked any sort of inspiration and creativity. They are playing in a really busy, rehashed sandpit. (And ironically, I'm not a fan of Unintended, Invincible, or I Belong To You-- although in the case of the first two I still do listen to them occasionally). But this could be my personal interpretation of the songs; that pre-TR I always found some meaning... And now I feel like it's the depth of a bowl of cornflakes. Musically, I'd say there is a decrease. I think it is because there are so many elements being experimented with and yet I don't feel like any of them are really being executed to the best of the ability or utilised to full potential. Again, this is obviously open to interpretation. Yeah, I always feel like when I express my opinion on the new direction everyone is just assuming it is because I am an old-school Muser that just won't go with the times. When nope, that's not the case. I'd say TR wasn't my favourite Muse album; but there are still tracks on their I love like USoE and, heaven forbid me saying it, Undisclosed Desires (I feel so BAMF listening to that song). So far I haven't hear that from T2L. That's not to say there won't be (I'm kind of hoping the Chris led tracks are going to blow my fricken mind) but I just am judging it off what I know thus far and I just feel it doesn't deserve any sort of OMGBESTMOOZEEVUR.

How many songs do you have on iTunes?
2001 items and 5.6 days worth. Although I don't keep a lot on my iTunes as my laptop is getting old and crowded so I put all of my downloads on my harddrive and have all the CD's/vinyls close to hand if I need them.
