  1. Yeah that might be cool, if this baby's daddy (a/k/a Braddock) thinks it would be a good idea. But people would have to summarize their lists themselves... I don't think I'll be going back through all the pages and sorting through everybody's choices for each day.
  2. I know, it's crazy. :| During the first run-through of In Rainbows, I didn't skip any song, and I at least liked every song (loved a few right off the bat). You've gotta understand that never happens with me. Not until then, anyway.
  3. The first post here links to the original thread, in which I put links going back to this thread where each day starts. It's not perfect because some of the posts overlap (people still posting after the other day's thread started), but it will at least point to where each day started. http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=76078
  4. I'm torn between what I would consider my favorite album. :embarrassed: For the longest time I would have said 'Parachutes', but 'In Rainbows' is amazing even though I only first heard it less than 3 months ago. I seriously can't choose. I guess I'll just post one from each. From 'Parachutes'... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHg-PhseKOQ]YouTube - Coldplay - Trouble[/ame] From 'In Rainbows'... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_uofQD-N6UI&feature=channel_video_title]YouTube - Radiohead - Reckoner - by Clement Picon[/ame]
  5. kewl I will be there so I'm not a :square:
  6. I'm hoping he mistakenly posted the wrong link, had two sites up at once and just posted the wrong one please
  7. I'm only 'knowledgable' on one of them so hopefully I'll be able to submit a list for that one * I'm lame *
  8. That means all new songs, yay! Sounds like she may have seen the 'official' LP5 tracklist already...
  9. omg CRESTS doesn't like foxes anymore
  10. I am so amused in different ways by every single post on this page epic wtf hilarity
  11. Okay I know that I'm hoping against hope here, but I decided to send an e-mail to a couple of local record stores participating in Record Store Day to see if by chance they will happen to have the Butcher/Supercollider vinyl for sale. I figure it couldn't hurt to send an e-mail, the worst they could tell me is what we already anticipate... that it will be in the UK only. The record stores are in Ann Arbor, home of University of Michigan and all-around cultural mecca, plus Flying Lotus performed at a club there last year (/lolrandom), so the two stores I picked have the best chance of any others in the area. Even though that 'best chance' is still as close to 0% as you can get. I thought this was amusing though... on the website of one of the stores, they list releases and provide a brief description. For TKOL, the description was: *** New! Perhaps you've heard of this hot, young British band. I've heard that one of the members even dabbles in soundtracks and another is a "dee jay!" Gotta love sarcasm. edit: Well, I received a response from one of the stores. "That item is Europe only. No one in the states can sell it. Sorry" :disappointed: edit 2: I just had a crazy idea. So there will only be 2000 copies, and it will be sold in the UK only. What if... maybe the reason why it is in the UK only with such a small number is because they are planning a small gig and the vinyl packaging would include a ticket to said small gig. Ugh, I would be so jealous.
  12. The idea of having a kid freaks me out. Especially considering people I know that have kids with health problems (some serious); even though it wouldn't really be my "fault", I would feel like a total failure as a child-bearer.
  13. no no no it's Zuul
  14. why on earth didn't I think about this one earlier [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=COMc3K-97z4&feature=related]YouTube - Iron Butterfly-In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida -1968 (Full Version)[/ame]
  15. sounds like some peachy keen bees knees with a side of the cat's meow to me
  16. I feel kind of bad because last year I went to the trouble of replacing my record player (I liked the one I had, but the turntable was starting to get wobbly and I couldn't fix it), but now I've barely even used the new one. :disappointed: I have a bit of a Coldplay collection of vinyls (& etc.) which I posted in the Coldplay forum about a year ago, but other than that I have quite a few of my parents' old vinyls. Actually I really wish I had my parent's old record player, I loved it. I'm pretty sure they gave it away several years ago though. Here's some of my parents' vinyls that they gave to me: Chicago Transit Authority (Chicago) Neil Diamond Billy Joel Crosby, Stills and Nash Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young The Bob Seger System Elton John Doobie Brothers Saturday Night Fever soundtrack  The 5th Dimension Chicago Neil Diamond Iron Butterfly - In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida (I should probably add that to the best bassline thread) Michael Jackson - Thriller 2 Jim Croce + 2 Muppets + 1 Smurfs = :wtf:
  17. Right now it's over 80 degrees (27C)! :awesome: But of course, the forecast said that one week from now it's going to be in the lower 30s (0C). That's what we like to call 'Michigan weather'. :shifty:
  18. Today I learned that some birds are 'awake' at 3am. :|
  19. Ah yes but with the excellent harmonies, if she doesn't like it when they start singing it, that means the dislike is amplified.
  20. I've already made a few posts but I'm going to go in another direction here. I'm sure some people will think this is lame but I've always loved the bassline in this. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WcWHZc8s2I]YouTube - Sade - No Ordinary Love[/ame]
  21. Yeah I hear "Layla" a lot too; when I'm in the car I like to 'sing' to pretend that I'm the screaming guitar toward the end of the first 'part' of the song. As far as the song that I hear even more often on the radio, I'd have to say "Life's Been Good" by Joe Walsh. Which actually is a bit odd, because I listen to a local radio station that purports to play 'everything', but the amount of times they play this is extremely disproportionate. Not to mention it's a relatively long song for radio play. I like the song though, so that's okay with me! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XyTpENuoCI]YouTube - Joe Walsh - Life's Been Good (Studio Version)[/ame] edit 45 minutes later: See what I mean?!! (top of the list)
  22. Not sure where would be the best place to put this, but zzz posted this in the Will thread, in regard to what Will was holding in his hand in a recent fan pic :surprised: This is the fan pic being referenced:
  23. This isn't very Radiohead-related, other than they posted this the other day on their site in the Off-Topic section. They haven't posted anything there in several months. http://www.boingboing.net/2011/04/01/lies-in-london.html?dlvrit=36761
  24. Commodore 64 comeback priced, dated by Geoff Gasior — 11:27 AM on April 7, 2011 The Commodore 64 is set to make a comeback. Seriously. Engadget is reporting that Commodore USA has started taking pre-orders for a new spin on the classic PC-in-a-keyboard concept. At first glance, little has changed, which may or may not be a good thing depending on how fondly you remember the original. Ooooh, just look at all that beigeness. Despite its retro exterior, the updated C64 comes with modern hardware, including a dual-core Atom D525, second-gen Ion graphics, and options for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a Blu-ray drive, and up to 1TB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The system is expected to be available in June with a starting price of nearly $600, which sounds a little steep for what amounts to a nettop. Vintage keyboard cred doesn't come cheap, I guess. If your tastes run a little more modern, Commodore is also offering a VIC-Slim model based on what looks like a much newer, slimmer keyboard design. That system will reportedly sell for only $400, putting the cost of nostalgia at exactly $200. Unfortunately, we can't tell you how the VIC-Slim's specs compare because Commodore USA website appears to have crashed. I'll let you make your own jokes about what they're hosting it on. http://techreport.com/discussions.x/20733
