  1. Is it just me, or does this sound slightly pretentious? :|
  2. Really? I was under the impression that people who read the comics liked how the show diverges a bit, because then people aren't "bored" knowing what is going to happen. And since the creators of the comic are the ones making the show, it's good for them creatively as well to have another crack at it, so to speak. The Governor will turn into more of the comic book character now; I think the point was to kind of build up how he turned so evil, and he's turning the evil corner now. Do you watch the "Talking Dead" show that's on afterward? It's a little insightful, and overall entertaining.
  3. This morning, the news they mentioned that neighbors heard them arguing that night of the shooting, so yeah I highly doubt the "mistaken for an intruder" scenario.
  4. Do charitable donations count, since it's not really spending on the band? That makes a bit of a difference. *cough*
  5. When I bought a lottery ticket last night, the guy said to me as he handed me the ticket, "congratulations on your newfound wealth."
  6. I'm going to preemptively say... when some chick posts on Twitter a desperate request for any of the guys out there to be her Valentine. Sending an open call out won't make a guy feel special, plus they'll probably think it's a bit creepy, so yeah good luck with that.
  7. If this person asked it, there is likely at least one other person that asked it, and boatloads of other people that are just thinking about it. Eeek.
  8. It was twitter that did him in. After making an account recently, he decided "screw this modern sh*t, I'm outta here." twitter is the devil
  9. We celebrate it with Pączki here across the pond.
  10. ^ that's the true definition of "snowed-in" this one's even better... :drunk:
  11. I'm waiting for a follow-up tweet re: tzatziki sauce and someone needs to "fix" this picture to replace the cows with horses
  12. I loved the little "why Norman Reedus is like Daryl" snippet during the commercial break. :wacky:
  13. :awesome: AWESOMENESS Amazing artwork! Good luck to those who enter!
  14. And I'm guessing this person left the windows open on purpose just to see what would happen :|
  15. Aside from the obvious, one thing I find odd about all this is that I wouldn't think there would be THAT many horses available to slaughter as a meat substitute. Besides pets in stables / on pasture, I never see horses around here. Horses are super expensive compared to cows so it wouldn't make sense to use it as a substitue. Is the "availability" of horses different over there?
  16. omg :drunk: I didn't see that during the game because we live in a Comcast area, not Time Warner. :disappointed: 4 MORE DAYS
  17. 'Monopoly' iron token is out, cat is in with fan vote Fans prove to be real animal lovers, voting for a new feline piece and saving the Scottie dog. The Monopoly iron is going off to that giant linen closet in the sky. The token, a staple of the Hasbro board game since the 1930s, is being retired after only garnering 8% of fan votes in a "Save Your Token" campaign. The Scottie dog was the clear choice for fans and game players from 185 countries, getting 29% of the vote. While the iron leaves the game, a new cat will take its place passing "GO!" and collecting $200 going forward. The feline piece conquered its own competition in a separate vote on the Monopoly Facebook page, winning over four other proposed tokens — a toy robot, guitar, helicopter and diamond ring — with 31%. "We know that cat lovers around the world will be happy to welcome the new cat token into the Monopoly game," said Eric Nyman, senior vice president and global brand leader for Hasbro Gaming, in a statement. "While we're a bit sad to see the iron go, the cat token is a fantastic choice by the fans and we have no doubt it will become just as iconic as the original tokens." Last week in the home stretch of the "Save Your Token" campaign that began in early January, the iron was in a dead heat with the wheelbarrow and the shoe with 7% each to avoid being last place. Harrisburg, Pa., tool manufacturer Ames True Temper even launched a YouTube campaign to rally fans for last-minute votes in favor of the wheelbarrow. The cat will join the wheelbarrow, shoe, race car, top hat, thimble, Scottie dog and battleship in the Monopoly game beginning in late summer when the latest edition hits store shelves. A limited-edition "Golden Token" Monopoly ($17.99) arrives exclusively in Target stores this month and will feature gold tokens of all the current lineup — including the last appearance of the iron — and the five proposed new pieces. link
  18. yikes his bottom teeth resemble the mountains of Mordor or something * I know, that wasn't very nice * Bloom is okay; I really like the FTB performance of it though, pretty awesome
  19. Stanley Donwood is awesome
  20. post of the year
  21. Yeah in that video (even though you can't really see it) there was a lot of pushing, I got out of that crowd shortly afterward. Most of my experiences there were more calm though in terms of not pushing; there's a good mix of people dancing, people putting their hands up and getting into it, and people standing around just feeling the groove. Overall, a very nice environment of happy people of all walks of life. I even saw a 9-months-pregnant lady there last year, it was cute and mildly perplexing at the same time.
  22. yeah I wasn't expecting that, how'd he escape from my closet I was hoping beyond hope for afp oh well
  23. In what regard? edit: I should also try to find (and upload) my Fly Lo video from the 2011 festival; I had a side view higher up so it was cool to see the whole crowd.
