I voted yes. I could get an idea of what to expect. If they had not played new songs at the festivals, they would have been dissed so much for it. People would say, "well this is lame, they've been in the studio but they're just resting on their laurels at these concerts." If people didn't want to spoil the album, all they had to do was not listen. I know, that's much harder said than done, so I'm not insensitive to that. It just seems like they're damned if they do, and damned if they don't. But I'm glad they did.

+2 'tis easy to make a random comment about lots of other songs having the same sound; 'tis another thing to back up the comment and point them out. If there's lots of other songs with essentially the same chord progression and the same duration of each chord (i.e., same emPHAsis on the same syLAbles), I'm all ears.

Yeah I just checked my account too, and it also says I have no downloads available (I pre-ordered the pop-up album too). The total order status says "charged preorder"... I wonder if there is some sort of quirk where the status has to change to "purchased" for the download to be available. Or maybe they really are delaying it for us even though it is available on U.S. iTunes. I dunno.

At the moment, there doesn't appear to be any available; just people wanting to purchase or swap. I imagine as we get closer to the dates of the concerts, some people will realize they will not be able to attend and want to sell their tickets.

I'm guessing the people in the U.S. won't receive e-mails today because it won't be officially released in the U.S. until Tuesday.

And I cringe when people call them "Radiohead-lite", because that's not even a proper label. I think some of both bands' earlier work sounds similar, but that's more because Radiohead was a big influence on Coldplay. Radiohead soon went down a path that Coldplay could not follow, a/k/a Kid A. The bands went down two completely different paths after that, as far as I'm concerned.

Personally (as do other people) I think the opening hook is more than similar. For shiggles I played the intro of the Vietnamese song for my husband, and then played PoC. He just looked at me and shook his head and said, "WOW. Yeah that's pretty much the same." It's dismissive to say this. The song certainly isn't random to people who live there (some people on this forum live there). And if the band had simply used Shazam while they were in the studio recording the song, they would have heard it (that likely could have been how this song was 'found' by someone else in the first place). I don't know why they don't use a program like that, given their experience with claims like this. I think it's a bit irresponsible on their part. edit: Just saw your recent post, no worries. :nice:
