The Coldplay "or" game
Somebody still needs to tell me what on earth "The nappies" is!

Voting finished - Lets make one [[Coldplay Song]] the "Absolute Radio" SONG OF THE DECADE !
I'm afraid the best song of the decade goes to either Hey Ya (best pop song, that is) or Pyramid Song. Viva la Vida and Clocks deserve nominations, though.

What in the blazes is the Nappies? Is that some sort of racial slur?

coldplay on 'Later with Jools Holland' 27.10.09 (can
I'm pretty sure I saw this on Youtube. Really good performances of Viva la Vida and 42, as I recall.

How many of you actually like Coldplay?
It brings 'em down. It's just way too pop-y and flamboyant and it didn't really fit ROBTTH. Although when I saw them live in cincinatti this past summer it was one of my favorite songs of the night.

Coldplay: soundtrack to the noughties?
I like your argument, but I think Radiohead's music reflect the mood of the 2000's even more. The paranoid confusion of the electronic Kid A perfectly reflected the world's insecurity about the new millenium (and the shift into the digital age) Hail to the Theif's angst and sadness and political undertones really reflected post-9/11 America.

The Coldplay "or" game
Intro to Talk (I can't stand A Message, if I'm being honest:\) --and just for the record, you don't have to have a continious battle going. For example, even though I chose the Intro to Talk, my next "or" thing doesn't have to include the intro to Talk...that was confusing. Chris' low voice on Yes or Chris' falsetto on Strawberry Swing?

The Coldplay "or" game
This is a bit like that War of the Coldplay songs thing, except you don't battle songs. You can do parts of songs (as in "the bass from Daylight or the bass from Sparks) or members of Coldplay, or whatever funny Coldplay related thing you can think of (ex: Guy's lisp OR Chris' ego). So the next poster picks the winner of the last post and then starts a new "or". I liked my example, so I'll start The bass from Daylight or the bass from Sparks

Albums of the Year 2009 *Now Closed*
Well so far Animal Collective's Merriwether Post-Pavillion has been the best album, but Phoenix' new album and Grizzly Bear's new album have both been really good. Wasn't a huge fan of No Line Over the Horizen, actually. I'd put Thom Yorke's Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses but that was more of an Ep.

Random Coldplay thoughts...

Admittedly, I'm a pretty hardcore Radiohead fan, but I would've never discovered them if it weren't for Coldplay. And I wouldn't be here if I wasn't a hardcore Coldplay fan as well ;) I'm not good at introductions, and I hate writing about myself so I think I'll just end it here. Really looking forward to hittin' up these forums!:)
