The Womanly Thread
I would find bald legs on a man unnerving. Cyclists and swimmers freak me out sometimes. Maaaybe :p

The Womanly Thread
Haha, no I will see if they can carry my weight  That would be strange. Mine will need shaving right away if you are going to use them.

You won't be saying that when I sexually offend you (if that is a real phrase).

Would you change your last name after marriage?
The family name will die out if I don't keep my name/have a son :p Not that that matters to me. It's interesting though. Only interesting to me.

9/11 Conspiracy Theories!
It is used for this indeed, but it is not just the Western world who does it. Everybody does. This does not mean that 9/11 was part of that.

9/11 Conspiracy Theories!
That's like saying when Princess Diana died, sales of flowers went through the roof! Therefore the florists got together and had her killed :sneaky:

Would you change your last name after marriage?
I wouldn't want to change my name. I would want my wife to take my last name. I would not mind if she didn't want to, we'd just keep the same names. Then it's tricky for what you name the kids.

Also, they are selling quick. Usually sorting out the finances for a takeover takes months. Unless they've been planning it for ages and I missed out on all that due to the boredom of this whole story.

Love can ease pain, say brain researchers
(I hadn't finishes editing my above post before your reply, if you care) Yeah, this study will be the end of the world!

Love can ease pain, say brain researchers
It isn't wasting money if this can be used to implement changes in care work and improve the standards for people dealing with illness. This includes people with incurable diseases. I'm simply saying that there is no point in saying that these people should have been studying aids. They might not know the first thing about aids. Should they therefore give up all their money to those researching incurable diseases and just sit there doing nothing themselves? I myself hope I do not get an incurable disease, but if I do then I won't be holding these guys responsible.

Future Creativity
I don't think there's a chance we'll evolve enough in 1,000 years to be able to fly but yeah, I don't think the world will be anything like what it is now. The book I'm reading at the moment has a few things that Scientists said in 1901. /still off topic

Stop all research and direct it all to diseases, everybody. There is so much research that takes place it's incredible. This is just from one university. As explained in the article research like this can be used to implement changes in Care work.

Nobel Peace Prize 2010 (the Say Downgrading Things About Norwegians thread)
I think freedom of speech should be there to the full extent, otherwise it isn't freedom of speech. For example I'd much rather racists be able to voice their opinions so that I am aware of who they are and can avoid them if I need to and fully understand their motives in the way they live their lives. If they voice their opinions without being attacked and the matter being discussed then there is a chance they could actually be educated. They are instead lambasted (something I am guilty of doing too since I have no problem with being awful to racists and homophobes) which further polarises them. I think this leads to an increase in the amount of people who can be targeted by racially motivated groups. Simply silencing racists will not stop them unfortunately. Obviously this is only one example involving freedom of speech but it is one present in my country right now. In other countries the freedom to other things is important too, such as the right to propose political changes, opposition to power and the right to protest peacefully.

And so you should. After all, you're almost a big club.

Everything should be explored and hopefully explained. I wouldn't limit research.
