Sorry for the long delay between the time you send the mixtape and the review of it! Here is my review:
1. Heavy guitars, nice intro with them, definitely a rock song! It must be a classic rock song? A man is singing. I already have heard this track!
2. A song you want to dance to and sing along to the "ouh ouh ouh" (actually I did :D). A male singer is singing. I like the music instrument which sounds like somebody’s hammering on a piece of metal or something! I would say it’s an alternative, pop/rock song.
3. After the first listenings, it made me think of "The Pierces” music style. The music part is more important than the singing part. But, when I open the folder with WMP (I like to switch between iTunes and WMP. I should have sticked with iTunes!), some information showed up: it’s Blondie but no mention of the song title.
4. I recognize a French female duet: Brigitte. Their voices go very well together. The track sounds folkish, bluesy to me. But I don’t remember the title of it. Are you French, mixtape maker (because their album was released not so long ago if I remember correctly)?
5. A calm song sung by a male singer with a rather deep voice. But I found it a bit too calm for me now (yeah, some moments I don’t enjoy listening to very calm songs and sometimes I do. Bad timing!).
6. Moriarty – “Isabella”. It’s a kind of folkish/country song to me. The female singer’s voice is really amazing!
7. I think it’s Florence and the Machine. The female singer has also a Voice. I didn’t really get into this band when I first heard of it but I really like this song.
8. A rock song sung by a woman or a man: I have a bit difficulty to tell even after some listenings  I like the chorus, it seems like a choir. It must also be a classic rock song, no? I also have heard it before.
9. It sounds like an Elton John song to me, very catchy  A woman joins the male lead singer in the chorus.
10. It could totally be an Arcade Fire song, is it mixtape maker? Again, a woman joins the male lead singer in the chorus.
11. It sounds like a British band. One more track with rocking guitars (me liking it :D). The singer is a male and his voice is kind of deep, more in the verses than in the chorus. :Sing on: This is a love song, this is a love song…:sing off:
12. This song rings a bell to me again! I like the bit of music at the very beginning which is repeating before the chorus. And it mixed pretty well with the rest of this alternative, pop/rock song! A man is singing. To me, the voice sounds similar to the voices you hear on bands classified in the “emo” genre (I don’t like this term because to me it’s more affiliated to a style -fashion- because lots of songs can be emotional in different music styles!)
To conclude, I enjoy listening to this mixtape and, apart from the track number 5, it flows very well to me :awesome: I especially appreciate songs number 1, 2, 4, 7, 9, 12.
And now, it’s time to shine mixtape maker and reveal the artists and song titles hidden behind these numbers (and also to stop my frustration of not knowing some tracks but already have heard them :D).
[And some information on the music style showed up (either with iTunes or WMP) but they don't match the actual style of the track (for example, the song 10 is classified as Ska, the 11 as Bebop,...). Is it on purpose to confuse me or is it a mistake?]
Thank you :nice:
