  1. UGH. My husband was right. We attended Wednesday night's concert at The Bowl, seated two rows from the stage. After the concert on the walk back to our hotel, my husband said, quite emphatically, that during the encore performance on the main stage he saw Gwyneth in the stage wings to our right. He said that at first he didn't recognize her because she wore no makeup and looked older than he expected. Then, he said that she noticed him looking (he was in the front row at this point, right of center) and gave him a little smile (probably in response to *his* humongous smile - or maybe in part because he resembles Chris. Strangers have said "You look like that singer from Coldplay!"). Anyway, main point is that I had read previous that she was in London with the kids and told him I thought as much, without trying to squash the joy of his experience (she's his main celebrity crush), but he insisted it was her. So I said that if he thought it was her then it probably was (though secretly thinking the excitement from the concert had gone to his head and he was "looking" for some inspiration in the form of someone who resembled GP.) Guess I was wrong. :O Makes me wonder if she didn't show up to the venue until the encore ... which would explain his GWYNETHPALTROW burst at the intro of clocks (which I couldn't properly hear at the time.) Snaps to my husband then. :) I no longer think he was indulging an overactive imagination. He and I both left quite satisfied since at concerts' end he had the GP sighting and acknowledgement and I had brief, direct Chris eye contact with a thumbs up and tiny wave from him in response to my thumbs up/wave. It was pretty surreal. I am sure I'll never have another concert experience like this one again - with these amazing seats and the amazing communication that was going on. Pretty great show. We're still processing it. Kelly
  2. Who's got tickets to the show tomorrow night? I'd love to meet some fellow coldplaying fans. I'll be driving up from San Diego tomorrow morning, after rush hour traffic. My husband has some friends from work who live in the Hollywood Hills, not far from the venue, so we plan to park there and walk down. Glad they're not starting till 9pm. Buys me more time to wade through traffic and synchronize with dh. This will be my first Coldplay concert and I really can't quite believe I'm finally seeing them live. We're in pool row 6, seat 3 and 4. If we don't meet ahead of time, then just look for the petite girl with brown hair standing the entire time, jumping up and down, singing and screaming her fool head off. That will be me. So STOKED!!!! Kelly
  3. Is it just yourself? Because my offer stands re: my previous post. If there's a single (or more) empty seats in the pool (because of season tix holders) then I'm willing to get you guys in. I'm assuming that it would be a single seat, since that's more likely, if at all. But there is that chance. LMK what you think. Kelly
  4. That's the show I'm attending. Where is your seat? Because if there's an empty seat in the pool I can meet up with you and take you in there with me. I'll just go to the bathroom with my hubby's ticket in my pocket (he'll remain at his seat) and you can use his to come to the pool. I'm not kidding. There may not be a seat but if there's even one lone seat I can let you know and you can have it. I've done this before with other concerts. Easy peasy. Kelly
  5. I will be in Pool and I don't care what anyone else is doing. I'm going to be standing and jumping and singing and screaming my head off. When it comes to this band and this being my first show I am going to make the most of it! Kelly
  6. Is there a thread for tomorrow's concert, May 2nd? I have tickets for that show (my first!) which hubby surprised me with two weeks ago -- best part ... we are in the pool boxes, right up front and just right of center. I am completely stunned. Hubby is an IT guy for ticketmaster and was given the tix by the CIO of the company, as he was not able to attend. I've yet to take in a concert of any kind at The Bowl but am BEYOND excited to see Coldplay - and so up close. It seems quite a dream. I'll take some pix but I really want to take it all in and not fiddle with the tech gadgets so much. Sorry to go on so, but three weeks ago I thought we'd miss the tour altogether since they aren't coming to San Diego (a gross oversight, if I may say -- Hey Chris, we've got RAD surfing here!). So I'm totally stoked!!! Kelly
  7. Anyone, I'd love one!! Kelly San Diego, CA. USA
  8. I would love some butterfly confetti, if any coldplayers have some to share, and would be happy with even a single butterfly. I have yet to see the band in concert and in the meantime can console myself over concert confetti. :) I could also pay you for them as well. I live in San Diego, CA. USA. Thanks! Kelly
  9. I, as a listener, felt so uncomfortable that I clicked off before the hang up and eventual end of the interview. Just hearing the insensitive interviewers ignoring the signs of Chris' discomfort with their questions and his subsequent emotional disconnection pissed me off. He took time out of a crazy-busy, exhausting day to interview with those clueless idiots and they treat him like that? The lack of respect is staggering.
  10. I'm short on time this morning - apologies if this is a repeat. I just came across this clip from Chris and Jonny's appearance on the Ellen show. He seems to be in a great mood. The blurb re: the show says that he opens up and talks a bit about his relationship w/ Gwyn, sharing more private-type details than usual. We'll see. http://tinyurl.com/3k2t2k3
  11. Cute print up for auction, signed by Chris with a cute, personal message he wrote. I would bid for this because it's more than just a signature, but I can't justify the cost to my husband. ;)
  12. What I saw was Will screw up. With the lyrics "Like a river to a raindrop", to which instead he sang "Like a river to a rainBOW". He immediately recognized the mistake, but then tried to cover, until he met Chris' eye and the both started cracking up. When the redid the song you can hear the emphasis that will places on raindrop. -k.
  13. I wonder if they have their entire touring wardrobe for this album completed. I like what I see so far ... and they look to be continuing the theme of homemade threads.
  14. Should read "Hides beneath ...", but the the other conveys the meaning just as well, though it's not as correct grammatically. :)
  15. She also had a cooking segment on GMA this morning as well. Here's the link to the video: http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/gwyneth-paltrows-cookbook-15-memorable-quotes/story?id=13330339
  16. I just watched the Rachael Ray interview and it was GOOOOD. Not so much of the recycled stuff we've been seeing. Good questions, good answers and GP was very relaxed and happy. I looked on the official website for the video and it could not be found. Maybe it will appear on YouTube? I hope so, because you all have to see it. I do have it recorded on my DVR ... if there were some way I could copy it to my computer I would do so, but other than recording my TV with my high def. video camera and downloading it to my laptop I'm not sure how I could manage. Ideas anyone? ________ Germany / Austria Cooking
  17. Yep, it's DVR ready. :) I love the search save option on this DVR because it automatically sets to record anything with GP, CM or Coldplay, among other things. Then I can go through and delete repeats or movies she starred in that I've already seen. I found this interview not so fab (the interviewer could have done a better job, dug a bit deeper instead of asking the same obvious questions), still it's worth seeing if you're a fan. I noticed that too! I think maybe she was joking? Perhaps she won't take a leading role type of project; we already know she's doing Glee again, as well as SNL, and it's only January, so I'm hoping that's an indication that she won't hibernate again. That said, I do think she deserves a break for a month or two to do absolutely nothing outside of spending time at home with her family and friends. I can't even begin to imagine the whirlwind of her crazy schedule -- and my kids are 9 and 11! ... though when they are younger you can sort of get away with taking them out of school compared to these later years with the increasing demands of academia. ________ THE YAZIDI BRANCH OF YAZDANISM DICUSSION

  19. Where I'm coming from age is the prime factor. I respect the fact that she's trying to get this message across to Apple, but at age six it may very well be lost on her. In fact, it can have the reverse effect, discouraging her from trying new things in the future if she feels she'll be tethered to it no matter what. But of course we are going off little information and don't know what in the way of preparation Gwyn did to show her what the class would involve, etc., which is why, though I wouldn't make the same decision as she, I respect her right to make it and don't judge her for it. Regarding child development (which I've extensive experience and research) and the faculties of the brain of a child of six or seven, etc., it's quite surprising to learn just how much these advanced "parental lessons" aren't grasped, partly because they are still in the throes of bonding and connectivity, at age six, and only just now learning the beginnings of advanced social connections, let alone the far-reaching consequences of their decisions. Their prefrontal cortex is not even close to being fully formed - their brains have so much further to develop and this alone is a large factor playing into the equation. But I don't think Gwyneth is a bad mother, not by a long shot. I think she's pretty fabulous from what I've read and she seems to genuinely have her kids' best interests at heart. It's just the child educator/psychologist in me that grapples with the scenario she painted in the interview (of which we know only fractionally). ________ Free vaporizer
  20. When I followed the link I was surprised at how long and detailed and personal that interview was. That interviewer totally scored, catching her on an off-guard day. Re: forcing Apple to take gymnastics even though she decided she didn't like it and didn't want to go anymore is taking the principle of "sticking to commitment" a little too far. Kids don't know what they're getting into, esp at age 6. They also need to be taught that if something isn't working for them they can change things up, that they don't have to suffer through just because. ________ The Extreme Q Vaporizer Review

  23. Wow. He's looking directly at you - no mistaking that. He looks a bit on the apprehensive side, perhaps unsure what to make of your fandom? Hopefully he doesn't think you're a stalker or anything like that. I'm am so jealous of the view you had - amazing! Right up in front and the videos were great from that perspective, even if the audio was off in parts, though no fault of your own, of course. The great up-close vids more than make up for it. You take great shots Jimmy -- no shaking and just really great all-around camera work. Thanks for doing that and for sharing it with us so quickly. I'm sure there aren't many videos of the performance available out there, esp from such an advantageous vantage point. Speaking of, I wondered at the purpose of the strategically placed cameramen round the perimeter of the stage. Were they Coldplay guys, cataloguing another performance or Cosmopolitan people. I'd LOVE to see their footage. Anyway, thanks again for taking and sharing such great footage. You look very nice, and totally harmless, in the shots. Now if I see you (or rather, when I see you) at one of their gigs I'll know exactly who you are. lol. ________ MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES IN LA
