  1. Congratulations and a big thank you to everyone involved, especially you, Simon! You were a terrific host.
  2. I heard "Rainy Day" in a shoe store in the local mall last Sunday. And then, while I was at the dentist midweek, "Clocks" came on. Second time I've heard Coldplay in the dentist's office!
  3. Will can't even look at the camera, he's so ashamed to be on Page 2.
  4. Hi, BerryGirls - thought you might like one of the photos I took at Lollapalooza. Pure yumminess.
  5. Check out the Coldplay Twitter thread! They've posted "Viva La Lego" and the link to the video! The band has seen it and must like it!
  6. Totally with you on the stage effects! The flaming/running/walking man is awesome live, and having those lasers beaming over your head is a mind-blowing experience. And one thing I forgot to mention was how outstanding it was to accomplish something on my personal bucket list: Being up front in the middle of a like minded crowd while participating in a good old "In My Place" YEAH!!!
  7. Back into the real world after Lollapalooza. What a show Coldplay turned in on Friday night! But first I must tell you what a wonderful experience it was meeting so many other Coldplayers. Several of us gathered for breakfast and then wandered up to the festival gates, where we were treated to a listen as Coldplay ran through their soundcheck! A few minutes later we were admitted and made the 500-yard dash to the barrier where we set up camp for the rest of the day. Was it worth nine hours in the sun, getting shoved around by some stoners, and minimal bathroom breaks? Absolutely. The guys were on fire and so was the crowd. Chris actually got a little emotional at the end of "Viva La Vida" as we kept the "Woh -oh -ohs" going. Guy was totally relaxed and smiling through most of the gig, and our little group up front made eye contact with him and with Chris at several points during the evening. Jonny completely tore up the guitar solo during GPASUYF - what a master at what he does! (Chris broke a string during that song and threw his guitar off to the side of the stage; Hoppy immediately provided him with another. And there, in the middle of a song, in the middle of singing, Chris said "Thanks" to his roadie.) Unfortunately I couldn't see Will much during the show since the stage was high and he was back a bit. I could only see him as he banged the bell during Viva and during "Us Against The World" which was performed directly in front of us. As one of our group said later, I was proud to be part of this crowd and the guys really appreciated us. "We care about each and every one of you," Chris said, and I believe him. They gave us their all on Friday night and we gave back. It doesn't get better than that. Thanks to all the Coldplayers who shared the day with me on Friday. And thanks to Coldplay, the best band in the whole world.
  8. Wish you could be there, too, Care! We'll miss you, but we will proudly "raise the flag" for Coldplaying!
  9. Gave me goose bumps there at the end! Good job.
  10. I just happened to think - if this happened there would need to be 100 little Lego figures of a lot of us Coldplayers on a boat! All singing part of "Christmas Lights!" Too funny! :laugh3: Imagine a little Lego Ian, Jenjie, Angie, Phil, Nat, Jilly, Jack, etc. etc.!
  11. ME! I probably won't make the meet-up at The Bean because my flight doesn't get in until 4:25, but for sure will see y'all on Friday morning. Or, if you're going someplace in the evening, somebody post and let me know. See you soon. :)
  12. THIS! Excellent work! I really admire the creativity. Thanks for letting us share in it!
  13. Happy birthday, Will! Two years ago I got to share your birthday at the concert in Toronto. See you on Friday in Chicago!
  14. I'm going alone, too. No worries, we won't be alone for long!
  15. I'm gathering all my stuff to pack. Got my baby blue shirt, a hat, plenty of sunscreen (85 SPF!). I got some granola bars - am planning to eat a hearty breakfast on Friday and hope it holds me! Will bring in the 2 bottles of water they allow, glad to hear that there are water stations. I'm also bringing an umbrella. My plan is to be there when they open at 11 and make a beeline to the front of the Bud Light stage! Those of you who have experienced this before, is it possible to have someone hold your spot if you make a break for the bathroom? My experience in meeting Coldplayers before was overwhelmingly positive and I'm looking forward to making a bunch of new friends. Hoping to make the meet-up at The Bean on Thursday!
  16. I would collaborate with the entire band including Phil and ghostwrite their autobiography. It would take a long time. And lots of one on one time with each member. Especially Chris because he's so - er, complex. That's right, complex. Lots and lots of time with Chris because he would have to proofread everything and make sure it's perfect. Yeah.
  17. Never mind, I found it! 201 E. Randolph St., Chicago, IL 60602 is the address for Millenium Park. And it's a good thing I looked it up, I thought it was a restaurant when it's actually a sculpture!
  18. Sounds good. Do you have an address so I can map it? And what time?
  19. Under the surface trying to break through Deciphering the codes in you I need a compass draw me a map I'm on the top, I can't get back
  20. Can't add a lot to the reviews posted already but I wanted to chime in with a few comments. This performance was terrific and I was so glad I ran home a little early to watch the stream. What jumped out at me: 1. How Chris Martin literally throws himself fully into his performance. Even if he is sick of playing the old songs like "The Scientist" we'd never know it. He gives "Yellow" the same depth of physical and psychic attention as he does the new songs. 2. How freaking hard Jonny Buckland works. Watch him; he completely leans into his guitar playing and produces majorly awesome guitar sounds. He's another one who puts himself fully into what he does. 3. How beautiful Will Champion's voice is. I don't know if he was a choirboy when he was a little boy but his vocals in "Us Against The World" were pure and stellar. 4. How busy Guy Berryman is during the gig. It was fun to watch him keeping the beat going with that bass, drumming, moving around, and of course singing more! And finally that jacket came off -- I was wondering if it ever would. In short, in my opinion, this is one of the hardest working bands in the music industry. They're wrapping up LP5 and still writing new material and giving us super shows like this one. Love 'em.
  21. Got the Tshirt, got the wristband, booked my plane ticket, hotel reserved. Now all I have to do is meet up with my Coldplaying friends and show the band what a REAL audience looks like! Will be in Chi-town the afternoon of Aug.4, where can we get together for a night-before-concert party? I'm at the JW Marriott, I think it's near the park. I'm getting... well... rather excited.... And am praying for temperate weather.
