The Famous Old Painters Mystique: A Short Essay
I couldn't agree more. Listening to the "Famous Old Painters" instrumental makes me wonder if the music of theirs that we're all familiar with, from Parachutes through Prospekt's March, isn't just the tip of the iceberg and there's so much more underneath that we may never see. In a way it's sad, but in another way it just makes me more proud of this extremely talented band. My appetite is definitely whetted for more.

Jo Whiley's Final Show
:laugh3: at what she says about Chris in the old days: "He was mad as a box of frogs then..." She sort of trails off... wonder what she wanted to say about NOW?

Most random place you've heard a CP song?
Just heard the opening of "The Escapist" on a Dateline NBC special about the upcoming royal wedding. I've heard several Coldplay songs as background in specials about Wills and Kate.... are they fans?

Studiofeed
I've read the speculation, viewed the new video a number of times, checked out the 2007 video that Chloe resurrected, and given it some thought. What if the name of LP5 is actually "Don't F*** It Up!" :laugh3:

Chris Martin v Guy Berryman
Hasn't anyone noticed how thin Guy has gotten lately? Chris could break him like a twig. But he wouldn't.

Stolen from the Chris thread - I just sort of liked the view and thought you might too.

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Jeremyy, those are from Roadie 42's blog, done sometime during the Viva tour. Not sure which one but you can find it at coldplay.com. Happy birthday, Kels! I'm a Curly Chris girl too and we have to stick together, so here's a present:

Bonjour Tout Le Monde! OLD Coldplay performances
Thanks so much for posting these. They're amazing. What stands out for me is how GOOD Jonny was even in those early days. I wonder what Chris did with his sunflower guitar strap? I'd love to have that.

Is it bad that this picture makes me love his body so much? ;)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS!!!!!!!!!
Happy birthday, Chris! Thank you for giving me so many happy moments over the past several years. I hope your day is full of love and joy and presents. And don't let Jonny eat all your cake.

Gwyneth...
Agreed. I thought she looked amazing but the performance was not good, even slightly off-key. She even looked a little upset at the very end. If she's going to try to be a singer she has got to get over her nervousness; it really detracts from her performance.

Most random place you've heard a CP song?
Heard "Life in Technicolor ii" at a gas pump in Gibson, PA, just off the interstate, as I was driving to NJ on a business trip. I was floored because I've never heard that song played anywhere outside a CP concert (or my own CD player). I guess the other customers around me wondered why I kept hanging around the pump after my tank had filled - shuffling around, cleaning the windshield, etc. :laugh3:

Help me with schoolwork
A couple of ideas for the family portrait caption -- How about "We Never Change" or "Life in Technicolor"?
-
Help me with schoolwork
Nice idea! How about a picture of your house (or even just of your room) titled "In My Place"? And maybe a picture of your mom or dad on the phone captioned "Talk". And one of you and your boyfriend (or maybe you and your pet!) titled "The One I Love." I can probably think of more but maybe this will get you started. Good luck!

Random Coldplay thoughts...
Today at lunch I was musing about what I should give up for Lent. One of my co-workers said perhaps I should stop listening to Coldplay. I said "No way."

Most random place you've heard a CP song?
I've heard "Lovers in Japan" in JFK airport and also in the grocery store. And in the chair at my oral surgeon's office I heard "Talk." But the craziest place I've heard a Coldplay song was in church! Our minister of music knows that I am a CP fan and he played "Fix You" as the Communion hymn during Mass. He changed the words to "God will guide you home and ignite your bones/and God will try to fix you." I don't think anyone except he and I knew it was a CP song. I was serving as a Eucharistic minister and I almost dropped the cup.

What is your favourite Coldplay song today?
High Speed.

Exactly. And sorry to be vulgar but does anyone believe that Chris would ever have to pay.....

The "Relate Everything Back To Coldplay Game"
It is dangerous for a rock musician to jump into the crowd with his/her fans. Chris ran into the crowd during "Fix You" at the Big Day Out show. That was REALLY dangerous. New Word: Folder

LP5: How are you all feeling?
Every time they announce a new show for the summer I think "They've gotta be releasing this album ahead of the shows!" and I get a great feeling of anticipation. I think it's going to be awesome.

[28-June-2011] Coldplay @ 'Where The Action Is' festival, Gothenburg, Sweden
First thing I thought when I read the announcement was "Anna is going to be SO excited!" Wish I could go!
